Just a tip from a fabrication specialist. When drilling out a rivet nut, use a drill bit that is nearly the same size as the outside diameter of the flange. Be sure to go slow with little pressure and keep it cool. Soon as the flange spins it will stop you from doing too much damage.
Love this video keep up the good work, generally expensive does mean better but having a cheaper bike it doesn’t buy fun. The individual does the fun. I upgrade over time it’s a great feeling and satisfying like you say.
Awesome video Evan!!! Have you considered letting some other fellas shred on each bike too to see how the results vary or how similar they are? Maybe find an new rider that is completely new to bikes and an intermediate rider? Just to compare those results too. This series has been awesome I've kinda followed a similar path on my 2023 Roscoe 8, I saved a ton a money going with a Marzocchi z2 bomber when Planet Cyclery was closing for 375$ instead of buying a Fox 34 or a Pike or anything like that. I also just purchased a set of Hunt wheels thanks to you lol.
I’ve built plenty of bikes over the years, and pretty much knew the outcome before I pressed play … BUT I watched the whole episode anyway and it was awesome! Well done man 👏🏻👏🏻
Your last high low series is what made me wanna buy a polygon! Bought a 2020 d5 off my buddy for 500 and Iv done a ton of upgrades and working on more now! So far very happy with how the bike feels!
I know this is a big ask Evan, but I was wondering if you had some spare forks as mine have sadly snapped and I do not have the money to get new ones, any fork would work but you will probably not see this comment but if you don’t see this comment just keep going your one of my favourite RUclipsrs.
Nice series to watch. Cheap upgrades were still costing some money. I run at the moment 10 bikes - 4 of them full suspension and only one 29" 26" Hardtails are no longer fun for me 😅 But cheap to buy old and reliable bikes are unbeatable for their cash. 200-400€ for whole XC bike (not just upgrades) 😅
Awesome video so hooked on this comparison I couldn't stop watching and the results are not surprising sometimes all the gear doesn't fit together to make the ultimate package, low bike is smart choice's in a real world affordable way just the brakes I personally would have tried to find Shimano 4 piston over sram I like the level feel more and the pads don't wear as fast 👍👍👍
Great video. I am looking to get back into biking and have some wicked trails 5 minutes from my house, so this video was very eye opening. Regards Dean in Cannock, England
I'm using the MRP tensioner/chain guide/bashgaurd so I won't need anything in the rear at all... also highly recommend the new vivid ultimate! I have two meta sx with crazy diff builds and howler and leatherwood are my main stomping grounds! You should hit me up when you're heading out!
Thank you so so much for such a great series. This series has helped me so much for my own bike build with choosing what parts should i choose. Nice work with the videos :)
Such good contents Evan, found your channel few weeks back and I'm going thru the entire backlog. You should do a video on the Costco Intense 951 trail bikes. They seem like an amazing value.
Loved this series it was an amazing bunch of videos really interesting to know I think that next you should do some longer travel enduro bikes sort of 170-180mm of travel 👍
Enjoyed that and am sooo tempted to get the T7 which is currently only £999 in the UK. PS: this vid confirmed my experience of tubeless tyres of all kinds, and utter waste of time!
Sh here's a couple questions that could be answered with an hour long video : - If you had around 2K $ for upgrades, would it be better to go all in on some high tier suspension or go for multiple mid-tier upgrades of contact points, tires, and smaller components ? - If you had 8K $ for upgraes... would it be better to go for full gucci gear or spend half of it on upgrdes and another half on rides ?
Hey, have you done/ thought about doing a low spec bike vs. high spec bile as purchased. Then upgrading only low spec until it pass the as purchased high spec. Then comparing cost of getting a lower spec bike past the purchased high spec and what's better value for money?
I've run those cheap Amazon Puroma branded raceface knock-off pedals for a couple of years now on my Santa Cruz Bronson without any issues. No slipping at all. For the price, you can buy longer bolts to run through the pedals for more grip. Spending $100 on flat MTB pedals is ridiculous.
Evan have you considered doing a 200k sub high/low season 3? I would like to see you do it with a HT over a FS personally. I'd love to see a RSD Middlechild & RSD RS or 2 Santa Cruz Chameleons. Love your videos man
@EvansMTBSaga was really surprised at the price you mentioned. Also since I probably will upgrade the wheels from my stock Marin ones I might look into those Hunt wheels. I really am a beginner and I have no clue what you need to look into to upgrade wheels. I definetly do not need 1500 eur wheels tho lol
"How much did u spend?!?!" Classic line lol. Epic, i wanna upgrade my bike like this series but i think i wanna have more of a speedish bike wit 2.2 tires cause yes lol. I love bikes its like a pc. Hella customizable
I gotta say, unless you've gotten permission from Donut, this feels borderline plagiarism. Very similar graphics, same exact songs, same exact sound effects. Even the wording is quite similar. I get that it's an adaptable format, but if you just straight copy it, that's not okay. Add some of your own style to it, make it unique. Otherwise I like the video, even though I have 0 interest in bicycles.
dont know how you do it bro i just watched 1 and a half hours of mtb content without getting boared keep up the great work
The mountain bicycle capital of the world is where ever you happen to be while enjoying your mountain bicycle riding experience.

You should do high versus high one with full Shimano with Fox and one with sram and rock shocks

I love these season long compilation videos. I loved the hardtail quest one as well.
Heck yeah man glad you liked it!
A lot of effort went into this video, I very much enjoyed watching! "big suspension" had me cracking up :)
Thank you very much!
Love it! I watched this whole series as you put the videos out, but crashing through it all in one vid was just as cool. If I had a million dollars…
I’ve built plenty of bikes over the years, and pretty much knew the outcome before I pressed play … BUT I watched the whole episode anyway and it was awesome! Well done man 👏🏻👏🏻

Where you located? I just took of a sr suntour fork off my polygon that the old owner put on that I’m gonna be selling.

Might have found my new favorite RUclips channel! I learned a lot watching this video- keep 'em coming!
Donut does bikes now?
???
Yeah - comparably insightful, but as a LowCar devotee for life, I still love it.
@@IMTB2.this is an idea clearly taken from donut media’s high low series where they do the same thing with two identical cars.
Great series, watched all individual videos, waiting not patiently between releases :)
Thanks man! Another video out this weekend
Really appreciate the editing on this 💯

Best video ive seen of all bike components

Well done...to the both of you? Great content/ information/ entertainment value.
Thanks I appreciate it! Just one of me playing 2 parts haha
I think that butter cups on the newest Rockshox forks is pretty cool! your thoughts in the comments.
It's definitely noticeable, softer in the initial stroke. Id say it's a 25% improvement
polygons are fun. I had a polygon xtrada 6. But it was stolen from my job.
cannondale trail 8
but I’m looking to upgrade to full suspension bike next.

I’m getting the Suskiu t7 for Christmas , this will be my first full suspension and second mtb should I do upgrades straight away?
Right away, I'd go tubeless. But then feel it out for a little while and learn the full suspension! Hope you like it! Super capable bike
Thank you will do
Loved this, just come across this channel so it’s an instant sub. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!! I have tons of videos on the channel, I hope you enjoy

Nice username! Haha. Yeah race face knock off pedals are great. It cracks me up when people say to buy the brand name for $30 more
Hey Evan, what do you think about butter cups on the rear shock (High bike)?
I don't think the rear has buttercups, but if I'm wrong, let me know in the comments
they could make it, with they're technology.
3 times more expensive is of course better, but not 3 times better.
The slowest and weakest factor is always the driver, not the bike🤣
Wow, those guys look almost the same! Are they twins?
I don’t think you should buy used parts because you should be comparing like for like retail upgrades.
you are super channeling Chad, you better be careful or he make splinter off and form his own channel. Great episode!
nice comparason, thanks
Trail Bikes is the way to go, one for all
I love the High Low seasons. I have learned a lot! I've probably watched both seasons twice. Would you be willing to sale the T6 in its stock form?
Yup I will be selling it locally. Are you local to Bentonville?
@@EvansMTBSaga okay. No, I'm in California. Oh well. I hope you heal up soon!
I like the testing, but I'm not sure of the fight club style vignettes
Harsh lighting conditions. The finale I had the white balance go nuts and that nearly ruined all footage of the final testing
why do you swapped shock from rockshox deluxe to suntour
Fr
One up composite peddles are great .
So good. I dislike when you can feel the spindle through your shoe but the OneUp pedals don't have that problem
I like how he used a stick as a bike stand
Maybe the one guy is just in better shape than the other guy and that’s why the bike did better
You meke very good video thanks for all those effort!
Can you so a Downhill Bike for season 3 pleas❤
I don't think I'll do season 3. Too much work on my end
thank you for this amazing vid bro keep it up
was that a referente ti George ezra di you ear the Rain? jack of all trades you're the master of none
Red lyrik on thumbnail?.?
I don‘t understand this breakpower thing, just pull harder if you want to stop faster, right?
You can pull max power, but then you'll skid and won't stop as fast. Some brakes apply power better and stronger and don't make you skid
Evan, this must be your longest video, YET?!
Hardtail Quest compilation video last year was like 2 hr 40 min haha
@@EvansMTBSaga W😳w!
Then why do dirt jumpers and slope style ride tubes?
I wonder what the outcome would be with 1460g carbon hunt wheels... heavier carbon may be why the speeds were close.

Modest budget style........Fox Float X shock? Is Fox anything really budget or modest?
Yeah super easy to find them used or new take off for cheap

how did hi bike lose so bad because the carbon wheels and the electronic suspension lose?
Do high low with the same model carbon and aluminum hardtails
20X More!
SICK!!
Now compare the stock price + upgrade cost against a stock bike of the same price of both
Im confused, he edit very good 2 persons or are they twins?😂
Edited!
@EvansMTBSaga uuuu that makes sense now
@EvansMTBSaga another question, If you read this could you do a video upgrading mtb with only cheap things on Amazon? That would be insane ngl
Thanks for your work, but why dont you wear knnepads
2 pound difference? I think placebo
SISKIU from POLYGON
I never knew that there was a thing called electric socks and forks
Knowing and working with carbon.. I don't see it out performing aluminum.
More upgrade for siskiu T series till meet best part for low cost
Holy bots in here haha.
Fixed it! Thanks for pointing it out
It’s cause he cloned himself…😅
Are these guys twins or did I just watch one guy play two parts in a youtube video?
I played both parts!
@@EvansMTBSagahaha very nice. Played it well. I love the idea of spending 8000 on a siskiu. Such a massive dedication.
