NL you should check out the British quiz show "Pointless" - it's essentially the opposite of family feud where they have to guess what things people in a survey might NOT have said for questions. An example question could be a film or TV show and having to name actors in it, but to win you need to find the most obscure ones.
so you're still trying to guess the category, but you want the most obscure answers instead of the most popular answers? sounds cool!

I do this thing with a buddy we've called "Mirror Race", we throw out a random seed and stay on mic; then wherever there are multiple items we each flip a coin. Whoever calls it gets to pick their item and whoever misses the call MUST take the opposite item. It's made for some pretty fun victories where I get brimstone and they get garbage. Annnnd some fun losses where they get Book of Revelations and I get The Bible.
I feel like you and Dan would have a looot of fun with it, since it's literally just trolling the other person. (Especially fun when the one who gets the crap items still wins.)

Can I just say, I appreciate Ryan's faces in the thumbnails. It's easy to dismiss the concept of making a thumbnail face as the stereotypical :O that a lot of RUclipsrs do, but NL's faces are 1) not grossly exaggerated, and 2) convey nuances of emotion specific to the video he's putting up. It's not just "POGGY, NEW GAME" or "OMG, ISAAC RACE", you get some mystery and anticipation when you see the face he made for a given thumbnail.
Can't explain how much I love NL+Dan content. It's entertainment gold.

My immediate thought with this video is that during co-op Dan didn't know you had to stop shooting at Cod Worm so I was just waiting to see if he'd get stuck in a room for a minute wondering why he couldn't kill it.

At around 5:30 when u were talking about 3 vs 1 with trivia, that reminded me of the time when all like 17 of my classmates tried to beat literally just one of my classmates at an online game about history and in the end the 1 child won with like more than 2x our collective score. I feel like the eddy room play would be 100% above board, cuz you'd still have to beat the dark room after that right? Like if the race is "First to touch the trophy wins" then doing it quick but hard should be allowed IMO.
Dying puts you giga behind and its normally a death sentence I think.
considering that the eddy rooms give you a good chance of getting 1 to 2 angel items while playing them (up to four with filigree feather) it's not that hard to beat the lamb if you get the 50% chance of 7 spirit hearts before the last angel. especially now that the four chests in the dark room are devil deals.

@@Breadward_MacGluten Back in Flash Isaac there was a lot less content (7 characters, really only one endgame path, etc.) and a lot less quality of life, so he installed mods to spice things up. He would play with Spidermod occasionally (referenced by the item in Rebirth), item pool modification mods, and, my personal favorite, the NL face mod. Elucidater created a mod that just replaced Isaac's face with NL's RUclips avatar, and NL used it for around 100 episodes. You can see it in action by appending /watch?v=IJTdlJlqPyo to a RUclips link. He still occasionally dabbles in mods with overhauls like Antibirth or Fiend Folio, but for the most part he's left cosmetic and gameplay mods back in Flash-era.

Personally I believe the balance of the vanilla game is not as like "sacred" as nl makes it seem like, so having mods, especially those which also have huge teams behind them unlike what he said, simply adds a new spin to the balance instead of butchering it in some way. I mean, we are talking about the same game where the shop, one of the most important parts of the game, got like a day one patch after repentance simply because people didnt like how bad the shops became. If the balance is that thought over, THAT mustve done some beef to it lmao

@@Breadward_MacGluten NL for the most part isn't against mods about balancing as much as it is that finding those good mods with thought takes sifting and time. Same way he's not against mods that add content, but not all are made equal and it adds a wrench in the mix. Compatibility and crashing. Setup, patches, and people requesting other things when given an inch.
It's better when something is reliable and works, always has been the mindset he displays. It's why he was against Jedi Academy since it needed modding and so many other things for quite a while. This value for his time just goes up more now that he's a father.
This really shows.with his age too because he would have to setup cheat engine in flash Isaac to do some challenge runs with unique things. Like giving him an item on entering a room and things like that. Dude values his time enough that he kept using x-split until it broke since he already had his routine and habits, even though obs was clearly better as told by his colleagues.
