You don't have to be brilliant at mixing if the tracks work well together, specially when playing live because the crowd don't notice small mistakes if flows
It's the smile on Folamour's face when he leads the track in, but also the crowd, they immediately knew what was being played and reacted and sung to it immediately. The power of ABBA.
the fact that a fucking abba song from over 40 years ago doesnt seem out of place in this setting and people can still vibe to it, just shows how versatile and high quality their music was and is. their brand of disco stood the test of time arguably better than anyone elses because the sound was unique and expertly produced.
Folamour deserves so much credit for pulling that mix at a Boiler Room. Mixing is not only complex moves on the board, but also reading the crowd and creating fulfilling experiences. Wholesome.
@@Blandy778hahaha im not hitting on techno. Some people love the raw energy of techno, but i myself prefer house because a lot more people are smiling and theres a good happy vibe in the air. Old techno had that vibe new techno is just too "serious" for me there are always exceptions of course.
what i love so much about this video apart from just sheer euphoria of seeing that crowd go nuts, is how attuned with the crowd the dj is. you can really tell how much hes enjoying the moment and loves to see the crowd dance like that. even when he's telling that girl to move out his way or when he's untangling his headphone chord off of her you can see that he's smiling and just keeps on dancing. what a pure dj/crowd moment this is.
Yesterday while waiting to cross the bordering into usa a car pulled up playing gimmex3, they pulled up right at the good part and me and my pall immediately started dancing lol
It warm's my heart to see young people like this, most who weren't even born when this was a hit, singing along to it & knowing the words & tune (you can hear them singing it) these are the people who will keep ABBA's legacy alive through the generations.

2 years ago Massimiliano Pagliara played this song at panorama bar for gay pride weekend. I could not believe my ears. Was one of my favourite music experiences. Afterwards when he mixed in the next tune people were screaming, clapping their hands and cheering so much that he had to stop the next tune and just take a short break to let the crowd calm down. One of my favourite moments ever was when I was in Sugar Factory in Amsterdam and the DJ dropped George Michael Freedom 2000. Sometimes putting in a pop song at the right moment in a set after a build-up is great
Never understood why this moment is so special since people always listen to ABBA in parties, but being a boiler room setting, I saw the analogy that its like a group of fine diners embracing and enjoying a big mac
Absolutely loved the way the crowd are already having a great time, but then almost simultaneously realise it's ABBA and go wild. Such a fantastic moment. Wish I'd been there 😊
