    Worked for me. Pricy, yeah and I’m sure there has been a run on them which makes them harder to find cheap. Not too many portrait monitors out there that need a privacy screen. It’s also much cheaper than replacing the playfield glass. And much simpler fix.

    STATINT Privacy Window Film One Way Mirror Glass Tint from Amazon is 6 dollars and works.
    But its easy to leave creases and bubbles

      Thanks for the tip.
      The creases and bubbles would be just as bad as the separation in the middle for me.

    Another great video
    It sure if I’m
    Going to do this
    As I have a never ending to do list and it’s not bothering me to the point of taking action yet
    But that could change at any time
    Love the SM grills

      Thank you.
      It wasn't an issue for me either until Chucky's Pinball came along... then glare was unbearable!
      The grills were a joint venture between me and Buy Stuff Arcades. They made the sheilds, I grabbed the grills on amazon and painted them up.
      Check out the video if you havent seen it: ruclips.net/video/yUQIn-1EY5s/видео.html

    The option that worked best for me is just removing the table glass (no glare). Now I can't go back as the unobstructed view just draws you into the game more. The 3M screen will most likely be the better option if you have kids, pets or like to drink while playing.

    • @BillyWoods-Mods
      @BillyWoods-Mods  Месяц назад

      Yeah, I guess that would work, certainly not in my house because of all of the reasons you listed.

    Would "3M Privacy Filter for 25" Widescreen Monitor (PF250W9B) Landscape" work from ebay? 50 dollars?

    • @BillyWoods-Mods
      @BillyWoods-Mods  28 дней назад

      Doubtful, you would most likely have to cut it in half and turn it sideways.

    Isn't this a common problem with virtual pinball machines? I thought the solution was to replace the playfield glass with a special anti-glare version. And I think it's an expensive mod...

    • @BillyWoods-Mods
      @BillyWoods-Mods  20 дней назад +1

      Is it a common problem? Yes.
      Are there cheaper options? Yes.
      But the goal here was to have a single sheet anti-glare\privacy sheet vs. cutting an anti-glare\privacy sheet in half and hanging it vertically over the backglass monitor. Cutting it in half gives you this annoying line that goes down the center of the backglass. As I noted in the first 2 videos I have OCD and the line down the center of the screen drove me slightly mad.
      Initially I thought the same way you did get, just get an anti-glare sheet of glass for the playfield.
      However in my research I couldn't find one that would fit the ALP HD or 4K out of the box.
      All I could find is a full sheet of anti-glare glass which at the time was $250… which is obviously more expensive. Then you would have to have it cut to fit the ALP HD \ 4K which is another added expense if you can’t cut it yourself. To be fair this was when I first got my 4K machine… so it's been a while since I looked into the anti-glare playfield glass option but ultimately this is why I went with the 3M sheet.
      While it is expensive it is a pull 4 screws \ 15-minute job that gets rid of the glare.
      Thank you for your perspective on this one, I really appreciate you and the feedback!

    why is the 3m one 3x more than any other brand that does the same thing.? literally others are like 30 bucks and 3m is 90-120.

      links for other 25" portrait monitor ones?

    • @BillyWoods-Mods
      @BillyWoods-Mods  Месяц назад

      To my knowledge there are no other portrait designated privacy screens, this is why.
      The issue with all the others tested, I had to cut them in half and place them on the back glass verically which left a line.

    I have a 32-in back glass. I would hate to see what the costs are for that. Right now my v-pin is down because while downloading x- padder I picked up a virus that wrecked my machine may have to restart from the beginning again.

      Bro, that sucks... sorry to hear that.
      32 inch backglass is sick!
      I'm looking for an old beat machine that I can gut to build my own someday.
      Best of luck to you. I hope you can reserect your system without having to do a full rebuild.

    Hello there....Due to scarcity of the recommended item...I went looking and found a screen protector anti glare for a 46in screen. I didn't find any reviews. I am hoping it is something I can just put on top the playfield glass. If it is not that type of thing and is more this you are showing. It will atleast be big enough to cut to size on back glass. It is about $130 on Amazon. Just ordered it today. Dec. 16, 2024. It is supposed to be "in stock" and shows arriving by Jan. 9 ish I may make a super quick video and let you know how it goes when it arrives. I would like yo keep my neon sign on and my topper. If this works on the playfield it will do just that.

    • @BillyWoods-Mods
      @BillyWoods-Mods  Месяц назад +1

      IF it is the 3M version you should not need to cut it in half or flip it.
      As I understand it the 3M version is made to order so after they receive a certain amount of orders they manufacturer them which could be the reason for the delay.

    • @102Lawdog
      @102Lawdog Месяц назад

      @BillyWoods-Mods I don't think it is 3M. I got one big enough. I will just need to trim it if it is on the back glass. My goal...it Is supposed to be a screen protector for TVs that will absorbs the UV / anti glare from window light. I hope to put it on top of the glass for the playfield. Then it will relect even the topper light. If it is like what you're using that is why I got a 46in screen measurement the vertical pans out to about 22.5 in. So I can just trim. Won't have to split it. Fingers crossed. I really want to block out the light from my topper and LED sign also. If I must go back glass only at least the other lights have switches.

      @BillyWoods-Mods the most important thing...the 3M 25in at Walmart for approximately $117 is available again. As for my previous...update...that other product was junk and I am returning it...especially when it cost even more. I have installed this 3M screen. It works great. I wish I could have my topper on without glare, but atleast it is easy to turn off.
