When I was a student at the University of Geneva many years ago, I heard Kempff perform all the Beethoven Sonatas in a series of recitals. How smart I was to sit through those concerts! I'm so glad I did. How lucky if was that my life crossed paths with his!

My piano teacher studied with one of Kempff' students, both of them are wonderful teachers and brilliant performers.

Kempff doesn't always play the ornamentation that shows up in his own transcription. Nonetheless, a very meditative and calm interpretation. If we could get our hands around the transcription sheet music......Thanks for uploading.

As bad as Emperor Palpatine was, he was definitely one of the great interpreters of Bach in the Empire.
