I just bought dji avata 2 and went through hours and hours of (more or less) useless videos... I just found this 50-minutes, very well made and highly educational video. It's really the best on YT, by my opinion. It's great how you explained D-Log and colour grading just as a bonus topic on top of just a drone itself...
Ordered my drone after watching this AMAZING VIDEO, I then ended up in hospital and had an operation on my spine, 4 pieces of metal in my neck, so not been able to fly my new drone. Watched this again 7 weeks later and now can’t wait to get out flying my drone. Let’s hope the metal in my neck won’t start reading the signals and I start picking up a local taxi rank with the headset on. 😂😂😂😂 Thank you Jeven for great videos. I explained to my partner that your videos break things down and explain everything like the viewer is a child without making us feel like a child. You really are great at your videos and explaining everything. ❤❤❤❤
I’m waiting for my Avata 2 to arrive, and it will be my first FPV drone (first drone at all, really!). I’m about 20 min into the video and just wanted to leave a comment to say thank you for such an amazing thorough overview. As a total beginner, I really appreciate it!!
ESC beeping: ESC stands for Electronic Speed Controller, it is what controls the rpm of the motors. It's ability to beep is a great feature for finding lost drones! Great tutorial, thank you so much!
I've been using your tuts for flying my 1st drone, a Spark in 2018, then my Air in 2020, and now the Avata in 2024. Gets me up and going 1st time, every time. No crashes ... yet.. Great stuff, thanks Jeven.
Great video bro! I learned a lot about the DJI Avata 2 and how to fly it. I especially liked the tip about using the motion controller in your left hand if you're left-handed.
ESC beeping more than likely stands for Electronic Speed Controller beeping. But i like escape beeping, its more memorable. I just got my avata 2 today and am excited to get out there. Thanks for the video!
What's funny is that others left the same exact comment that I wanted to leave after watching some other video's on the Avata 2. This is really informative and I'm grateful to the creator for posting this. He did an excellent job going over the product step by step and this is super helpful if you own this or are planning on getting one. Yes this is the best Avata 2 video out there.
I just want to say a big thank you! Very informative and straight to the point. Yesterday was my first time flying a drone of any kind. I literally watched the video, left the house and gave it a shot and now I'm itching to try Manual mode 😁
While it just got delivered Monday, I won’t be flying it right away. For first time FPV, and as the Goggles, and motion controller are also compatible with my Mini 4 Pro. Will learn the controls on it because of its obstacle avoidance. Then, after I feel more comfortable, will give it a go with the Avata 2’s great flying experiences. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the posts!
Great tutorial Devon. this is my first FPV drone. I'm used to the Mavic Pro series so when I went through a couple of the DJI tutorials it looked a lot more complicated than you just made it. Awesome breakdown. Thank you. Work in the film industry and also have my own production company that focuses on human wildlife coexistence stories. Super excited too now that the Avatar 2 firmware update just added 4K 100fps.
I love my Avata 2 Fly More Combo. I just got it a few days ago, & I crashed it yesterday, on my 4th battery. I didn't break anything. I bought an aluminum gimbal protector, that I installed today. I flew my AIR 3 with the Goggles 3 & Motion 3. Even though the AIR 3 is faster in sport mode, it feels slower than the Avata 2.
great detailed video, thank you! I just got mine today, just finished charging, now I'll do that setup with the phone and then see how long it takes me to crash 😀
Hi, Your videos are nice. I bought the DJI Avata 2 after watching your video. Great drone. In the clip you show your video program for video processing. Which program do you use to edit your videos? Greetings. Michael
I couldn't enjoy more the fact that you've not only admitted to cracking a prop guard, but you've demonstrated a DJI Avata 2 that has seen a brick wall. It may seem sarcastic, but it is not. Shout out brother.
At 20:40 you say the home point can be updated to "wherever the drone is flying at the moment", I am confused, I thought it was supposed to update the location of the controller or the person wearing the goggles in case you happen to move from your original starting point, as if you were flying from a moving vehicle or boat for instance...
Most DJI drones can do both, you can choose either for the situation at hand, once you click on the menu the pane should have both options to choose from either Aircraft or controller He really should have entered these menus to give clarification, instead of just glossing over them.
Great tutorial! I have a client who does commercial roofing company in Sarasota Florida. He took my recommendations for epic video creation for social media and his website
Hi Jeven, on the images you color grade, ddi you shot those footage using filters? ultra turbo mega nice vid BTW, it was my walkthrought before I started to fly.
Thank you!! When you mentioned if you don't want to use the googles and use your phone instead - do you connect your phone to the goggles? or the controller?
My brand new one out of the box will not power on properly.... recommend you buy from store or amazon and not dji because the return is a total hassle.
been practicing to fly manual for the past 3/4 weeks mainly using the simulator - when I attempt flying manual in real life I feel kinda scared to fly low - any suggestions how to improve my flying skills?
@JevenDovey Thank you. Mini 4 Pro is the other I was looking at. The Avata 2 looks like so much fun, though. 😀 The other thing I need to figure out is proper licensing since I'm monetized. Thanks.
They have prescription lenses that you can screw onto the viewing screens. The fly more combo came with two sets of these; 1 standard and 1 is some type of prescription glass lens.
I'm having one problem with my Avata 2. I have the flight distance set to no limits, however, my drone keeps stopping at a certain distance and tells me maximum distance from Home reached. Anyone know what I can do to fix this so I can have continuous no limit distance flight?
@JevenDovey I figured out the problem. It was because the country code was not set. After I connected the goggles to my phone and opened the DJI Fly app, it updated the country code and all flight restrictions were removed. Thanks for replying by the way and love your videos. It's giving me a lot of good ideas for the productions I'm starting to do now.

This is an impressive video. Step by step every aspect covered with no fluff. Exactly what I have been looking for before taking the plunge and buying the Avata. Many thanks :)
Great review. I am left handed as well and do not like this version of the MC. Too small and the scroll wheel is buried in the palm of my hand. The record button is even further in the palm of my hand. I a scratching my head wondering why DJI thought it was smart to make this controller smaller than the Avata OG. Thank you for the review.
Thank you for this video. Very helpful for me as a beginner. And your English is very good as it's not my first language, but I understood everything you said.

No

They have prescription lenses that you can screw onto the viewing screens. The fly more combo came with two sets of these; 1 standard and 1 is some type of prescription glass lens.
how would you compare this to the mavic 3 pro? I am tryna decide between the two
Different drones for different uses. Depends on the style of footage you want

Does anyone know if the Avata 2 can shoot portrait videos for Instagram Reels?
How about the requirement to have a spotter when under the goggles and the fact your have to be LOS?
