I’m waiting for my Avata 2 to arrive, and it will be my first FPV drone (first drone at all, really!). I’m about 20 min into the video and just wanted to leave a comment to say thank you for such an amazing thorough overview. As a total beginner, I really appreciate it!!

ESC beeping: ESC stands for Electronic Speed Controller, it is what controls the rpm of the motors. It's ability to beep is a great feature for finding lost drones!

Great tutorial Devon. this is my first FPV drone. I'm used to the Mavic Pro series so when I went through a couple of the DJI tutorials it looked a lot more complicated than you just made it. Awesome breakdown. Thank you. Work in the film industry and also have my own production company that focuses on human wildlife coexistence stories. Super excited too now that the Avatar 2 firmware update just added 4K 100fps.

While it just got delivered Monday, I won’t be flying it right away. For first time FPV, and as the Goggles, and motion controller are also compatible with my Mini 4 Pro. Will learn the controls on it because of its obstacle avoidance. Then, after I feel more comfortable, will give it a go with the Avata 2’s great flying experiences. Looking forward to it. Thanks for all the posts!

Hey, is there a way to get videos stored on the memory card in the goggles to your phone without having to move the memory card?

In the Auto Record on Takeoff does the Avata stop and save the recording on landing?
At 20:40 you say the home point can be updated to "wherever the drone is flying at the moment", I am confused, I thought it was supposed to update the location of the controller or the person wearing the goggles in case you happen to move from your original starting point, as if you were flying from a moving vehicle or boat for instance...
Most DJI drones can do both, you can choose either for the situation at hand, once you click on the menu the pane should have both options to choose from either Aircraft or controller
He really should have entered these menus to give clarification, instead of just glossing over them.
Great review. I am left handed as well and do not like this version of the MC. Too small and the scroll wheel is buried in the palm of my hand. The record button is even further in the palm of my hand. I a scratching my head wondering why DJI thought it was smart to make this controller smaller than the Avata OG. Thank you for the review.
If shoot 4:3 have vignetting when using nd filter?
Does this require a Part 107 due to its weight? A friend insists that it does but I can’t find anything to support that.

I'm having one problem with my Avata 2. I have the flight distance set to no limits, however, my drone keeps stopping at a certain distance and tells me maximum distance from Home reached. Anyone know what I can do to fix this so I can have continuous no limit distance flight?
Check your limits under safety settings
@JevenDovey I figured out the problem. It was because the country code was not set. After I connected the goggles to my phone and opened the DJI Fly app, it updated the country code and all flight restrictions were removed.

How about the requirement to have a spotter when under the goggles and the fact your have to be LOS?
