For applying Super Shock shadow, I found the perfect compromise between fingers and brushes- I use disposable foam applicators. They’re semi-pointed on the ends, so I can have precise application at the inner corners. And no fallout! I got several hundred in a plastic storage case for under $10 at Amazon.
Great tips! I’ve been “converting” to primarily using cream shadows (mostly Caviar Sticks and NudeStix) over the last year, and still got a few new tips from your video.
Great demonstration. I'm not used to putting cream shadow anywhere but my on lid but now i think I can venture out to the rest of my eye. I love that cream shadows stay in place for so long and too. Thanks Jen. Blessings!
Great video! Thanks for the tips. 😁 I like the Revlon and Maybelline cream shadows in little pots. I have hooded eyes, too, and they typically don't crease for several hours. Also, your camera settings are perfect!
I have always being scared of using cream shadows because of very hooded eyes but you have convinced to give it a try. They last the whole day without transfering, great! Love these shadows, the taupe one you just used and the something double latte latte.
Oh I love it! Easy, quick and very pretty! Thank you for showing us how you use these!!! I’ll try it out! I could never get these to work but putting it on your hand the using the brushes you did make sense! ❤️
This was really helpful, Jen. I had no interest in this formula until I saw your original swatches last week. This tutorial makes me even more interested. Thanks so much!
I recall when these Huda shadows first came to Sephora, how difficult a time I had deciding which shades to pick! I feel the same now with the new colour releases, lol. Thank you for taking the time to share some tips because I think I've probably done all the "don'ts" already, and trying to layer too much of the cream shadows results in a weird crunchy-type of dry-down you really don't want. Great video!
@@jazwhoaskedforthis haha I've tried it after seeing Angie (Hot n Flashy) use them. They do work and I could see a lot more of my lid which was really exciting but they also looked obvious and weren't as invisible as I'd hoped. Also makeup didn't apply well over them. 😭
@@JenPhelps that's awesome! Bummer they're more visible, though. I wonder if creams would go well over them. But honestly, I think monolids are beautiful and hooked eyes are also beautiful, I just think it's fun to play with features!
This was helpful. Always love your true swatches. Loved your technique. Some of the Huda colors are intriguing me. I love Laura Mercier caviar sticks. I draw them on my lid then blend with a brush.
I recently ordered a few cream shadows from Sydney Grace (they’re absolutely beautiful and very affordable) I’ll definitely try this technique. Thank you Jen! P.S- you’ve gotta try em time you’ll love em.
So so beautiful, I like that you can defuse the color so easily. Great video, thank you so much, it helps a lot so se how to juse the products. Big hugs from Denmark 🇩🇰 🌹 🌺
I love the tips and tricks. I just wore a Mall shadow stick yesterday but did find it to feel heavy and remain tacky throughout the day. I’m going to try your method on the back of my hand next time.
Good morning Jen! I just woke up, so I'm here a bit late, but super excited for this video.🤗 Literally only own 1 cream shadow in my collection 😳😳 Thank you for this video! 🙌👍❤
Great tips Jen! I have a few cream sticks from Kiko Milano that I rarely use because the application technique is not my comfort zone. I'll definitely give your tips a try, thanks! ☺
I appreciate the video! I'm a colour lover so I chose to buy the lime shade last year, & it's patchy as hell for both shimmer & matte. Even in the old ones you showed, the shimmer side seems patchy, but the shimmery side looks pretty good for the new ones - do you think they improved the formula or is it the same?
I know Loreal and Revlon make a similar product with one matte and one shimmer shade (I saw them both at CVS yesterday) but I'm not sure how the formulas compare.
Girl is it possible for you to do a comparison between those eyeshadows and the retrograde palette, I have the retrograde palette so not really sure should I get those. Thanks❤️
🎀Question: Jen are these eyeshadows better with eyeshadow primer or not? 🎀 I have one of them but haven't used it yet. I think creamy eyeshadows are perfect for me because I'm wearing contact lenses.
Please help! I feel like you are the Eye Shadow Whisperer so maybe you can help. At the Ulta nearest my house the Makeup Revolution isle had 3 eyeshadow palettes displayed on top of the shelves and there was one in the middle that was sold out and people definitely loved it because so many colors had hit pan. The layout of the shadows was 3 rows and with more space between smallish square pans (like an Anastasia palette I would say but overall size maybe a little bigger). It's been 3 weeks since I noticed the display and this particular palette was sold out the entire time. My other Ulta didn't have that display so the girl couldn't help me at all. Do you have any idea what I'm talking about? These 3 palettes were obviously themed together but the other two were hardly getting any attention. Any ideas which palettes these might have been? I'm sorry that I can't even describe the color story since many colors were gone. Anyway I was hoping you might know what I'm referring to so I can go on their website and look for it instead of having to go back to Ulta. (I THINK the cover was burgundy but I could be wrong about that :)
www.ulta.com/brand/makeup-revolution-makeup-eyes-eyeshadow-palettes?N=1z12c84Z26ye Idk if this helps trigger your memory or not, but it has been a few weeks since I've been inside an Ulta store, and what's usually at the top of the display at mine is the "Chilled" line, like the first $15 palette on this page, and it's frequently sold out. This one comes in a tin package. Good luck!
@@kimberygraf5404 Omg you are wonderful to have replied. That has to be the one since it showed it was in store at the Ulta near my house but not at the other Ulta I tried. THANK YOU SO MUCH. It's definitely that first one on the Ulta page. I'm off to order it. THANKS!! Oh no, they are sold out lol. What is it with this palette?!?!
@@Thiggman-cs6wx something about that whole line is funny, because they're either sold out of the palette or the lippies at any given time, LOL. SO glad I could help, and I wish you good luck to grab one!
@@kimberygraf5404 I am fairly new to makeup and don't really know how to describe things that well and I don't know about collections and stuff but somehow you got me to that palette. The girl at Ulta couldn't even do it lol. She was like, "You don't know how to describe it?" Hahaha! Thanks again.
It's definitely on the pricey side, but for two shadows it's not that bad...you get a lot of product and it'll last a long time because you only need a tiny little bit. They're a better deal than something like Nudestix which are $26 for one pencil.
Ur clear and close swatches are everything ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Jen! You made that look so easy. I love all the colors!
I just bought a bunch of these from the Huda beauty sale and I can’t wait to try them! Even her neutral ones look ultra-glam!
I’ve been hesitant to use cream shadows, but these tips make it look much more approachable. Thanks!
Pretty look. I'm not too much into cream eyeshadows but those are some really pretty swatches.

Beautiful look Jen! My hooded eyes drive me nuts, so love these tips.

I have been wondering if Asian eye tapes for monolids might help hooded eye gals at all, but I'm not hooded enough to test it

@@JenPhelps thank you!! 🍨🧁🌸🎀
ooh the lavender shade and the one after it are really calling me
Loreal made double sided ones but they are now discontinued. I LOVED the violet one and priced at $10 or under I think. Wish they would come back.
I love cream and liquid eyeshadows. If you have a favorites video in this category I'll be so happy ;_;/
I need that Cinnamon Toast color!! :-)
It's so pretty! I haven't used it yet but I'm excited for it!
I have seen a lot of people use a brush directly on the stick shadows rather than wasting the product by putting it on your hand 😊
You can do that too! I just find it a little harder to know how much I'm picking up when I do it that way. But it does use less product!
Is there actual glitter in the shimmer shade . I'm allergic. Anybody know? Really would love to try them
I heard terrible things about these when they first came out .. now I want to get them 🙃
