Yes. English church music is very good, but it rarely reaches the depths of despair and heights of elation that Orthodox music inspires. English music tends to have a lighter touch, suited to a people whose emotions are a little more restrained.

"Lord Save the King" it says 3 times. Not the Emperor. The ancient greek word Βασιλεύς (Vasilefs =King) started to be used also in the East Roman Empire at 7th century AD by the Emperor Herakleios. He was the one to lead the first ever crusade against the Persians that had stolen the Holy Cross from Jerusalem. At the same time Avars and Slavs attacked Konstantinople unsuccessfully. The nights of the siege a glorious hymn had written to honour the Saint of all Saints the Mother of God, which helped the defenders of the City to defeat the enemies :Τη Υπερμάχω Στρατηγώ.

Byzantine hymns are marvelous. If you want to listen to more you can try playlists in RUclips. I would recommend some like "kyrie ekekraxa" and exomologiste to kyrio .Enjoy😊

If you're ever feeling the world coming down on you, find comfort in "Kyrie Ekekraxa", loosely translated as "Lord, I reach out to You".
It is a connection straight to one's soul.

It is what makes it all trance-like. All church services have it.

    Lyrics:
God, show your mercy to the king and your justice to the king's son.
judge your people in justice and your poor in judgment. Alleluia.
judge the poor of the people and save the sons of the poor and humiliate the slanderer. Alleluia.
and he abides with the sun and the moon for generations. Alleluia.
justice and multitude of peace arise in his days until the moon is set. Alleluia.
Glory to Father and Son and Holy Spirit. And now and forever and to the ages of ages. Amen.
Lord, save the king, and hear us, in which day we call upon you. Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. Glory to You our God. Glory to You
