The staff SKZ advised listening to this song with your eyes closed, and Felix himself suggested listening to it as ASMR, after a working day.
When Felix wrote the lyrics to the song and chose the composition,
he wanted to do something similar in sound to Joji's "Glimpse of Us" and "City of stars".
He wrote about this for Stay in the BBL.

Oh that make sense, with Felix bbl. Cuz alot of people their criticized Felix, and manipulate his words and turn into malicious one. So I feel lyk, this song of his is pertaining to that incident, and probably he felt alone. I think Felix is the kind of person who kept his pain alone, cuz he doesn't want to bother anyone.😭

Deep End, while it’s such a beautiful song, is so painfully relatable and gave many of us the emotional release we didn’t know we needed. Later that day he uploaded a funny tiktok because he said he didn’t want us to get too depressed from his song 😭 He is so sweet and his voice is fucking insane!!

Deep end is literally so emotional that I cried like 5 times. But I'm so happy that there are so many solo songs, cause that's how you find out what style of music the skz members like to make/hear.

I think it hits harder because it is Felix… he is so precious and tries so hard to make everyone happy that to think he could be hurt this way breaks my heart. Honestly this is why I love your channel/videos, you're always honest and up front about what you're feeling even if it's a heavy subject. I've been cheated on/and left behind in dust for someone else in the past so this song hit real hard for me as well. I know you'll hear this a million times but some day you'll meet someone who appreciates you for who you are and shows you it's okay to be you in every way possible.
