      Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is great. I recommend Glazebrook. The colo(u)r of it is light gold. It has a some great aromas of jalapeño, cilantro, and tropical fruits, pineapple on the noise. It has a medium to high acidity with notes of pineapple, and lemon grass. It was so good and I want to order that one again. I decided to order a different one because the wine was out of stock online even though my local wine store carries it.

      A great value in Loire Sauvignon Blanc is Coteaux du Giennois, which has become my "everyday white" this year.

    My favourite Sauvignon Blanc is, Nobilo from Marlborough, New Zealand. Had this in a restaurant in San Diego. It's a wine not available in the UK so I buy it when I go to the states.

    Great choice, from Loire Valley, cool climate, dry, high acidity. I'm having some right now from there in fact. Hadn't thought about it before, but yes, to the nose, it's very much like smelling tomato plants. Cheers!

    I like the versatility of the grape. You get NZ wines that are basically straight grapefruit which can't even be compared to a Sancerre. I've had some CA ones lately that had a lot more flowery notes too. Great wine with food with the acidity so one we reach for a lot.

    Among the different styles and regions, what are the major common threads in distinguishing the varietal? Clearly acidity. Thank you!

    Australia, like Adelaide produce great wine! Try a Shaw and Smith Sauvignon Blanc from the Adelaide hills, it’s a classic Sauvignon.

    I had a question about this variatal. Why do some producers actually like putting in that cat pee smell into their sauvignon blanc?
    I find that in a lot of wines and it prevents me from actually falling in love with this grape.

    • @TheGrapeExplorer
      @TheGrapeExplorer  4 года назад +3

      Haha I know what you mean. The highly aromatic ones. The producers would prefer you say blackcurrant leaf haha

    This is such a better wine then a Chardonnay. But in general the public is not very wine educated , So Chardonnay is the memorized choice because of it's easily memorized word , especially at restaurants to play it safe in front of guest .
    Americans are so ignorant when presented with a choice of wine 🍷
