    Check out what crazy stuff Human Program does with these "fx scenes". I hope that Elektron expands the fx track alot in the future firmware updates!

    Man this is fantastic. I always felt like im not utilizing the fx block to its potential and this is mind-blowing. I didnt know i can have trig lock fx parameters.

      It’s cool ain’t it! Il post another one in near future using Pirate Midi Bridge as another workaround for doing scenes

      Yeah I got my Syntakt a month ago and was having a blast, but between just having cemented it as my midi brain and this video, I feel like I just leveled the heck up

    This is a fantastic way to do things, you could do the same with a lead instrument so that say notes 1-8 are your entire melody (each step set to a corresponding note in the melody), with p locks per step, so that you can play sequentially or just have different configurations of each trig ready to play live. Thanks for sharing!

    Is it possible to trigger the FX scenes with a midi controller?

    • @jamesorvis_mixhackers
      @jamesorvis_mixhackers  6 месяцев назад

      Not that I know of and doubt it’s possible. I have found a solution though which involves using something like a Pirate Midi Bridge 4 or Bridge 6, you can program pedal switches to send out multiple midi messages (creating custom scenes). I have tested and it works will do some videos soon :)

    This is very inspiring. I've been using my Octatrack for FX (with an EZBOT template), but I was always wondering how I could do Syntakt-only jams and yet throw in some performance effects. I'll have to look into this more. Thanks for the video!

    • @jamesorvis_mixhackers
      @jamesorvis_mixhackers  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah it’s not as easy on Syntakt as the Octatrack but it’s a good workaround!

    Keep these tips on the Syntakt coming mate. I thought I’d figured out how to do everything on the machine, but it’s such a limitless black hole of possibilities!

      Me too! It was researching for the Syntakt mastery course that made me dig deeper. Every machine has depths that go untouched!

      @@jamesorvis_mixhackers yeah I feel like this was a @humanprogram original idea, you can definitely explain it for those who haven't seen it and give your own take, but it's real shady to not acknowledge where the idea came from. Especially if you're selling stuff based on your skills on the device.

      Nope, I can do the same trick with a midi controller and ableton’s eq
      without overbridge works great

    I really feel like @humanprogram should be mentioned in this vid, the trigless lock scenes were popularized by them and I think they at least deserve a shout out here.

    • @jamesorvis_mixhackers
      @jamesorvis_mixhackers  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for bringing it to my attention, I watched a few videos on this and heard people talking about it in forums. Then went away and played around with it. I was unaware @humanprogram invented the trick, if I make any more videos I will drop a shout out but I won’t be taking this video down to re-edit and upload it.

      Is this trick really thaaat special and hard to figure out? I figured it out all by myself immediately after getting the Syntakt without watching or reading anything about it, and I'm no music gear genius by any stretch of the imagination. For example, just because someone is first to report about some fun Easter egg in a video game, that doesn't mean that they later should be mentioned every time someone new discover it for the first time.

      Indeed, while I appreciate tutorials, this is the case in almost almost all of them. People confuse live playing and tutorial. And are pressing like brain dead with half of presses being useless mistakes in the middle of useful ones. In a state-of-the-art tutorial each key press should be confirmed orally, even wrong ones.
