Thanks for making this. I remember going here as a kid in the mid-late 90's, it was always very dead and quiet then. The hype had moved everyone to the newly opened Citrus park and Brandon town center by then. It was still beautiful with lots of greenery and sunlight. It was famous for being the ONLY Chick fil a in the city and the food court was packed. Its heyday was def the 70's and 80's though.
I moved to Tampa in 91 and this was the mall in Tampa at the time. It started deteriorating soon after because the wrong people would hang out there and start violence and harassing shoppers. Mall security would not do anything about it so people stopped going and the stores started closing. It’s was a domino effect and soon this wonderful mall was dead and tore down. I would have liked to seen it at its prime. Through out America malls we’re the place to be and be seen. Loved growing up in the 80’s.
I moved to Tampa 1988. This was THE mall. Lots of good memories there. I still miss it! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
I remember going to Tampa Bay Center and riding in the glass elevator
I wish this mall still existed
The mall closed down in 2002 and was demolished in 2005 to make way for a training facility for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Wow this brings back so many memories
I worked for both Champs Sports and then Burdines 89-91... great memories!
Me too upstairs domestics in Burdines

Crazy. I was alive kid at the end of its days. My mom bought me a Godzilla shirt here in 1998. It was fairly empty then. 😢

My girlfriend worked at Dillards back in the late 90s, then the bucs bought the mall area and did their facilities there. Good times, tho
