Oh man, I should do a review of my 11 cent Temu 10'x10' canopy... it's made of the same material as we get our horse feed in and it came with a courtesy rip on one of the corners. It does the job provided it's not raining.
@@DavidStanton I know right ?!?!? I wanted to be mad about how cheaply this thing was made but I only paid 11 cents for it with free shipping lol. Can't really get mad or complain to much about it.
Hi Dave, good to see you and happy new year, got to agree with you it's not well made, looks like powder coating on that bolt, I hope it holds out for you it just looks like if it's been thrown together at the factory. Catch you soon Take care
Made to a price with shipping costs in mind I think. If we started manufacturing things again instead of relying on China we would see a better product. I must state that China does produce some very fine products, but sadly this isn't one.
With the wind we get here in the desert that thing wouldn't last a week - and frankly I dont think any folding awning would last very long if one were to forget to close it up before one of our wind events
I hope that awning isn’t very expensive. It’s poorly made compared to those I’ve seen here in the States. We had a similar awning but we lived in an area that was prone to sudden strong winds. The winds could start up at just about anytime so we paid an additional amount to have the awning motorized with an anemometer that automatically retracted the awning whenever the wind reached a set speed. It worked well but was retracted quite often during our windy season.
I'd love to tell you Peter but it was 15 years at least..when Labor did the pink batts thing. I purchased the awning, 2 kw solar power and a new efficient fridge with the interest free loans they were handing out.
Dave Dave Dave, all your doing is giving yourself more jobs 😂😂😂 the hair is coming back nicely though. Great to see you back. And I will take your advice and NOT buy one of these…. Cheers.
Disappointing but not surprising. Aside from that, buying from Temu is unethical, as in supporting the CCP and NOT supporting local manufacturers, and illogical, as it's ALWAYS rubbish and extremely poor value for money. Thank for confirming the above Dave.
I understand your opinion re ethics but we do live in a global trade time and some of the items I have purchased from Temu have been really good quality. This one falls short of the mark though.
It's temu, cheap, cheaper... and think, it will not hold 15 years. A little more money will give more qualitiy. Temu, IMHO, is the worst way, close to garbage, scrap. I only use banggood or aliexpress. My opinion from Germany
Looking good Dave 👍. Beautiful piece of property you have there! ❤️
Thank you, it's a work in progress for the past 40 years!
Oh, dear lord. I din’t understand about awnings too much until I got an RV. Wind can just rip that apart. Good luck with it!
You are right, they are built for shade, not a gale!

A courtesy rip? That’s one way to keep things breezy! Just think of it as a built-in ventilation system!

It comes down to owner responsability.
Hice una compra en Temu y nunca me llegó, y como solo podes reclamar luego de que te llegue el paquete nadie se hace responsable.

I have often thought about motors on these.
I would contact them and give the order number.
Where did you buy the "more expensive one" from Dave? Mrs Middo and I are looking to shade our BBQ area with something similar.

Data privacy concerns are enough for me to not use temu 👍
That is a concern.
Hi Dave. How did it go in the recent winds if you got them , I am in Orange.
I wind the awnings in if it looks a bit windy so no issues this time.

Obviously, it's not quality design. You get what you pay.
Some things I purchased from Temu were excellent but this isn't one of them.
I agree
