It's unbelieveable that this guy isn't absolutely massive. His music has so much emotion running through out it.
Sitting here have a smoke thinking about my divorce going through soon, being mr tough guy through it until I hear this song. Then all the emotions come flooding in. Thinking about the years spent with my beautiful wife, seeing her smile, holding her tight whenever she cried, going through the rough and great times. Laughing and joking around all the time. She’s such a wonderful beautiful woman. I wish to god she didn’t want out. Been off and on for 6 months. But finally she served me with the papers. I agreed because her happiness is what I want for her, even if it’s not with me. But god knows I love her so very much. I’d do anything to have her back safe in my arms. Holding her, smelling her wonderful scent, feeling her soft touch, hearing her laugh and seeing her smile again.. I miss her.. But in the end, it’s because of music like this, I’ll be okay no matter what happens. Musics always helped me through life, especially the rough and hard times. I love you Shaleen…my beautiful wife..

To me, they concede to a relationship that, despite the dream of keeping, comes the realization that it is over. Although its still beautiful, it cannot be, and he knew it for long enough to measure its end. I believe this guy feels what he writes, and is on a level all his own, with good musicians along with him. I cannot help feeling drawn to this song, the self deprecating tone, as it haunts us. Well me, anyway. Awesome.

I am so grateful to be alive when a real artist comes out and moves my soul. The first time I heard his voice I cried....and still get goose bumps n teary when I hear something of his for the first time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful gift :)

The same just happened to me!! WOW!!
About 5 years ago I ran sound for Nathaniel on the UW campus. He was just performing with a bassist at the time if I recall, yet it was the most gripping and moving performance I can remember; the kind of show that just has everyone raptured. Plus I recall that he was super kind and gracious even though we were just college students running the soundboard. I'm blown away by how his music has evolved.
Im in Awe!!!.... I haven't stopped tapping my feet and feel so happy listening to his music. For the last 3 weeks since I discovered them that's all I play....LOUDLY ............Thanks Nathaniel for your genius!

Just saw them at the St. Augustine Amphitheater, the best show that I`ve ever been to! They`re very humble and appreciative of their growing popularity, they`ve got a fan for life in me! This generation`s Johnny Cash!!
The song was featured in the movie The Place Beyond the Pines. The song made the movie that much more powerful. Nathaniel is so talented, hope to see him live one day.
for me it was a life altering event.... and I didn't even know what I was walking into. Looking at tour dates now and trying to find a time to see them again.

Was going through the toughest time of my life when this song found its way into my soul..as well as my son's... It's both sad and beautiful. I feel both just as down and lost I was when first heard it, and proud to see where I have made it to...and man enough to admit both still bring a tear to my eye and lump in my throat.. stay the coarse your not done yet.

I love the music. Unfortunately there are no concerts in Washington State this year... I would love to see them live; I haven't been to a live concert since NiN in mid 90's at the Tacoma Dome. Check out the Admiral Theater in Bremerton if you want to do a medium sized gig.

We all fall and a lot of times no one can get to us in time to save us. “I planned the distance from where you stood”
He’s self sabotaging. “And when I hit the ground, I’m gonna laugh out loud. Stay for a while, and look at the clouds.” His fall was intentional or knew it was going to happen. It he redeems it with “tearing off his shirt to wrap around the wound” he is will to help and heal.
We all fall. We don’t all help heal and get back up.
