Omar Scheidt B 17 Flt Engineer POW

Omar Scheidt was a B-17 Flight Engineer and top turret gunner. He was shot down on his second mission and spent the duration of the war in a POW camp, and then on a forced march across Germany until he was liberated by the British. Through it all he kept his sense of humor and optimism. This interview was recorded at the 490th Bomb Group reunion in San Diego, California on September 7, 2008.
