Till's insane stage-fright at the start, that panic-suppression-breathing, makes me feel so sorry for him each time.
Notice at the beginning he takes deep breaths..like he is trying to calm down?
He is preparing himself to sing. Songs like this and ohne dich, where he has to just sing raw are the times where you can see that he still suffers from some stage fright.
he keeps his eyes closed most of the time and when he does open them he pretty much looks in every direction except directly at the audience. I've also noticed that he has a tendency to leave the stage as quickly as possible when he is done
You can see how nervous Till is before this song... it is btw the only song where Till uses in-ear monitors!
At his solo concert he uses all the time in ears.
Did you notice how nervous Till was at the beginning? He uses in ears for this song only and sang most of it with his eyes shut. Dat stage fright after 30 years tho
In these ballads there's no "character" for him to play and hide behind. It's just him expressing the feeling of the song.

This and Seeman have such beautiful bass intros. Really sets the mood
This song is such a Heartbreaker, again one of few amazing ballads from Rammstein, takes time getting used to. The first time I heard it in the untitled album i wasn’t sure what to make of it given the studio version is just over 2 and a half mins. Maybe after the 3rd or 4th listen I felt the pain and the heartbreak from all those commitments and hardships that failed in vain regarding failed relationships ofcourse. Now everytime I listen to it I can’t help but shed a tear or 2 and feel that burden revisit again.
I know speaks a lot about Till as well first of all the fact that he has been a single father most of his life and perhaps expresses his pain from those failed ventures of his heart. Secondly it reignites his stage fright and he sings with his eyes closed away from the thousands of gazes becoming a fragile timid being again.
I intentionally kept this song from my playlist in my
iPod and everywhere because I just can’t handle the pain although it’s a rare beauty from Till and Rammstein with no involvements from Christoph and Richard in terms of instruments. Very very beautiful and even more sad

This songs meaning can be aimed at a thing or person having control over someone, comparing them to a diamond. It mentions how good the thing makes them feel ,their love for it, but on the other hand the person wishes to be released from the hold it has on them. As even though they are beautiful like a diamond they are just ugly like a stone at heart. Cant live with it, can't live without it

Rammstein does have tours in the USA they are having some shows soon in the USA if I could afford it I would travel to another state to see them but I can’t lol. I’m hoping I get see them at least once before they retire.

Rammstein is far more multidimensional than they are given credit. In the states, it's like pulling teeth just to get people beyond "Du Hast". As much as I loved it when it came out in 1998, the only time I can enjoy it now is when I'm watching them perform it live. Glad you two dug deeper into their catalog.

They had this on the set list for their European tour but then dropped it for some reason. I'm not sure if they played it at their first few concerts or not but certainly by the time I saw them in Cardiff they weren't playing it. Obviously they can't play everything but it would have been nice to hear Till doing a slower song. Still an awesome concert though even though someone hit my car when it was parked be then fucked off and I caught Covid. My husband said that most people are happy with a t shirt but I had to go one better!!!
They didn't play it this year at all i think but 2019, I've definitely seen it there

@@sophiecooper1824 I was just happy to see them live whatever songs they sang. They were all brilliant apart from the acoustic version of Engel with those awful pianists. I would love to have seen them do the proper version of Engel but that is just my preference.

Recorded in Berlin 2019, i was there and have to say it was the second best Rammstein concert i've been. The best was Berlin in 2022 with the new LED lighted roof of the old nazi stadium. It was absolutly breathtaking seeing Sonne or Adieu with all the stadium iluminated in colors. This can't get any better.
Thanks for this reaction, and believe me, i wish you the best day of your live when you will finaly see them in September. Enjoy every second, it might be the last time you have the chance to see them.

Iirc the 22 tour had songs from "Zeit" mixed with ones from the abandoned former tour, so maybe they're doing a "Zeit"-tour and that's that then.

This is IMO about a toxic relationship
It is the opposite of Morgenstern where the girl is at first seen as ugly on the outside but beautiful on the outside and of course in the end Till saw her beautiful inside and out. Here the girl is beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside and Till finds her very attractive and likes looking at her but she's just sucking the life out of him so he wants out of the relationship.
