Great angling mate - awesome steady baro days for it this past week. You'll be happy to know the biggest Cod I've hooked thus far pulled the hooks too!
Thanks De Mac, it dose happen mate. The scarring after I dropped that fish is the best yet so I’m stoked to have it hanging on the wall after landing the 113.
Fantastic video mate! Great tips. My mate and I are looking to go up to Burrinjuck in August. I’ve done most of my cod fishing in rivers, and was wondering about the best gear for chasing those big winter impoundment cod. What rod/reel do you boys have / recommend for throwing the big soft plastics/surface lures? Cheers lads
Thanks Pat, I use a few different set ups depending on what I’m casting. I have a 7’11” GT Custom rod with a revo toro beast 50 for big swim baits up to 200g. A 7”9’ Abu Veritas for topwater with an okuma Komodo ss 7”6 Shimano maikuro 2 for plastics and swimbaits with a 300 curado 7” Veritas with a high speed Veritas reel for when I’m just fishing with live tech casting big plastics. All with 50lb braid and either 50 or 40lb leader
An Amazing trip Dan and Peter - love the footage and the tips along the way. Congratulations on the 2 over the metre mark. Quick question - the fury lure, keen to see if I can find one, keen to give it ago along the Murray around Echuca/Gunbower, can you please provide me with some details. As a relatively new native fish vlogger, can I ask what type of external mic setup your using - yours works a treat? Loving your work, thanks heaps in advance - Grazza.
Thanks Grazza, the 220 Fury can be purchased on the Social Fishing website unrigged, they can be bought rigged as seen in this vid occasionally but not very often, there is a rigging tutorial inside the Social Fishing membership. I didn’t use any external mics in this one. As you probably noticed I wear a camera which is where I get much of my audio from, I sync the video and audio from both cameras in post.
@@grazzasfreshwaterfishing no probs mate always happy to share. Social Fishing is an awesome platform with stacks of great content, when I’m not producing my own content I’m often working with those guys.
what pound line and leader you using cause i went on holidays to Corowa caught 13 cod on my bait but not one on my baitcaster i had 30 pound braid- 50 pound leader didn't get a bite on it even though i saw them jumping. i was using surface lures, divers and spinners?

Looks like a great trip what is your best moon phase to fish also are those soft plastics rigged with line through them thanks dan
Hi Peter, I like the new moon or 3 days before the full but my pick is 3 days after the full.
Yes it’s a line-thru 220 Fury

I was using 50lb main and either 40 or 50lb leader.
I would guess the fish you seen jumping are carp not cod.
