I have different experience. I only experience anxiety for the first two hours. Once two hours passed i overcome my anxiety for the rest of my flight. So what I did to solve those two hours I use .25 Xanax. That's all I really needed and I enjoy my flight every single time I fly in the air.

I work in the medical field and I also am an anxiety sufferer. Had a panic attack on a plane years ago. Got Xanax and even when I don’t feel anxious before the flight, I still take it. Just to be safe.
From then on I have flown DOZENS of times.
Hearing this guy talk about the effects and how it works is EXACTLY how many of my patients feel.

I can't travel in Train and flight. Life became hell. Doctor gave me Temesta ( Lorazepam ) 6 Tab of 1mg for round trip. I took 1 before and checked in train. I am fine. hope it will work same in flight. Thank you for making this video. I will definitely write my experience so that others can learn. Keep me in your pray on Tuesday.

Hi Kyle, thanks so much for this video. I use to fly without any issues but since couple years I started having panick attacks where I feel I need to get out or I cannot breath. Those were terrible experiences and I started to be depressed as getting on a flight was the only way I could see my familly. I never took Xanax as I was afraid it would not work then I will feel worst and things will get out of control. But since watching your video, I will definitely try Xanax on my next flight. Once again, thank you so much. Your video just gave me hope that I could get on a flight again to see my family and also go on hollidays😄..

Take the half tablet and after the experience you might be feeling flying fine. It will take off the edge and numb the fear. Just keep drinking water. I normally fly overseas on long flights at least twice a year and after the funeral started to have like constant panic. Doctor said it is normal after tragedy but flying a couple time on pills does the trick and no longer feel anxious.

Xanax is what got me on a plane again. I generally start taking long acting Xanax like days before I have to fly then ramp up night before and day off with fast acting. Absolutely no side effects and no loopy feelings….feel like myself but super drowsy and comfy. It’s not heroin and I’m not taking 10 mg bars so addiction is not even a thought. I only use for flights.

Thank you for this - I’m a pretty frequent flyer and have done many, many long haul flights (LA to Melbourne, LA to Beijing, Seattle to Seoul, JFK to Tokyo, etc), have been on less than stellar airlines in developing countries and have had some panic attacks, but for some reason when I’m on domestic (USA) flights - I freak the FUCK out - I was on a 2.5 hour flight from Seattle to Vegas where the turbulence was HORRID, and I was literally crying, sweating, white knuckled, heart beating fast, I couldn’t take it until we reached the gate. The next day I went to my doctor and now have some for flying, but have had anxiety even thinking about taking it. So your video really, REALLY helped me calm down.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The last time I got on a plane, despite having flown on dozens of planes before, I cried the entire time and called my mom who had to do everything she could to convince me I needed to get on the plane. On the flight I was rocking and clinging to myself so much (especially during a very turbulent Denver take off) that people around me gave me nasty looks. I tried my best not to cry on the plane but couldn't help it. I was considering trying anxiety medication for my upcoming flight but didn't understand how it could even help/was scared of being too loopy to make my connecting flight, but I'm glad to hear it doesn't disorient you if taken properly. I hope it could be able to just calm my heart if nothing else, did it do that for you? It's what exacerbates my anxiety the most.
I have the same trigger as you with turbulence. Turbulence, harsh turning, and take offs. Pretty much in that order.

Great video, I use when I travel or during severe stress, (sickness or death in family) It is a very addictive drug and you are wise to take small doses only when needed and not use on a daily basis. I will add that
I need to be able to face life on life's terms without the assistance of drugs but going in to panic mode on a plane or at a funeral etc, is embarrassing to me and adds unnecessary concern from others that can be avoided with MODEST medication.

  • @yeseniac.7773

Great video!! Thanks!! Take it, people, for its intended use. I have had extremely bad anxiety lately. Grew up traveling about twice a year. Would frequent PR and Florida. Never scared. But as I've aged (52), I am anxious and I panic over so many things. I lose appetite, I think of the worse, I shake, my heart beats rapidly, I get hot, feel nauseous, can't concentrate, fears and thoughts paralyze me, and all of this is usually followed by much vomitting (so sorry to bring that up). So I spoke to my doctor and she prescribed only 14 pills of .25 mg. I have only ever taken 1 at a time or actually per day. Calms me down significantly, and I can go about my day like nothing. No thoughts that will cause me to have a panic atrack. Eases me totally. Hope this helps.

Xanax works for me. My doc told me to take one on way to airport, and then while I’m boarding. It relaxes me and I tend to sleep. I think I become a bit more friendly at lower doses and probably talk to random folks. On longer flights I tend to max out at 3 mg and at that point I fall asleep. I always make sure I have some one pick me up from airport do not drive on this stuff. And I only take as prescribed. To do otherwise would be pretty dumb.

    Hi,
I have a flight in week from JFK TO ISTANBUL and it’s a 10 hr flight. I also don’t like being in a airplane due to the crash videos I watched. (I know I know😣) . My doctor also prescribed me .5 dosage of xanax. It will be my first time taking it so I don’t know what to expect. Did you have side effects afterwards? Like a day after? Great video!!

One Xanax about 30 mins before getting on flight then another one after food has been served and ready to sleep. That's my routine on long haul night flights. Total zombie when I wake up usually a few hours before we land, but really couldn't care about turbulence anymore. I used to medicate with alcohol and, while legal and easily accessible, the hangovers aren't pleasant, and probably isn't pleasant for your neighbours watching you get plastered. Never been in heavy turbulence by the way. Couple of descents into stormy weather but nothing really bad; more just a spontaneous fear that overcame me about twenty years ago.

Im not worried about the plane crashing but the fact that I can't escape if I need to that's the real fear. I think I have both cleithrophobia and claustaphobia as sometimes I have a panic attack in a large or small room. Key for me is wearing comforable cool clothing so I dont overheat which seems to cause me to panic. I take a fan with me. I also book an isle seat so i don't feel trapped. More importantly I take a valium before I fly. Or something from a health food shop to calm me. Im flying to visit my son in a few weeks. I'm scared just thinking about it. 🙄💜

All went well but I was super nervous for my first flight out there that I could barely eat or drink the night before. I woke up at 2 am with anxieties and decided to take a whole pill (1mg) to help me get through the rest of the night. The next morning was amazing. I just felt ready to be on the plane. Not really as terrified as I have been in the past. Just ready. My sister said I was amazing. I was very surprised with myself that I felt that relaxed. Could it have been the drugs? Possibly. But that whole morning was just GO GO GO to get the airport so there wasn't a single moment of dwelling. Maybe my mind was simply distracted. And all through the flight I felt at ease as well. On the plane ride back home, I wish I could say the same. Our flight was about mid-day so the anticipation was worse. I did indeed take another whole pill about 30 minutes before boarding but the anxiety only went away when I stepped foot into the cabin. Still don't know whether to attribute the relief to the drugs or that we were FINALLY going back home. Hope that makes sense!!!!!

I feel like by listening and focusing on a screen it distracts you from all the plane mumbo jumbo 😂 Also, watching a bunch of pilots on RUclips is helping me learn more about what goes on in a plane. I totally would recommend downloading their videos and have them during the flight just to reassure yourself. He's taking it the wrong way. He mentioned taking one while boarding and the rest while in flight which doesn't make any sense. In order to mitigate your fear of flying you need to address the anticipatory anxiety about your trip, and this happens hours or days before when you begin ruminating about flying. The way to take benzos before flying is to achieve peak plasma concentration before you board your plane. Most benzos like Xanax are fully effective an hour to two hours after you ingest it, so taking it while boarding it is more psychological than therapeutic. Start taking them the day before and maintain a level dose based on the benzo's half life that you're taking. So Xanax every five hours, Lorazepam every eight hours, etc. You want to be chill before you arrive at the airport!

    • @exploringfox

@@exploringfox Interesting. Most people with fear of flying developed anticipatory anxiety days before their actual trip. The issue with taking a benzo when you're already anxious is developing an association between anxiety and the pill you're taking. If you can take the edge off way before the flying pageantry takes effect you'll have a much more relaxed experience. When you're already super anxious Xanax, Ativan, etc will only do so much.
