My gym teacher had multiple awards as an Olympic athlete. She was shown no respect. I found out by accident she was pretty freaking amazing. I showed her respect. ❤ She was appreciative ❤ I will never forget her top notch teaching skills ❤
I had a really fat PE teacher. He always was sited, but was looking at us. With words he explained what was wrong and continued explaining until we do it right. One day we were playing volleyball and a classmate was talking about he always there without moving, so he decided to play a set, just until one team do 25 points. He started the game, he launched the ball, the other team tried to take it, but couldn’t. He did it again, and again, and again. When it was 20 to 0 he started to launch the ball from under the legs, with closed eyes, with his head… in the end he alone made 25-0 and no one complained about him anymore
My college basket ball coach was a big guy, not in the muscular way. He would always do the same stand around explaining and giving orders.... Then he played 1v1s with pretty much everyone and didn't concede a basket... the big guy could move😂

This is also a female class, so judgements can be a lot more intense, but even if someone does poorly they can still say, at least i did it better than he did, which automatically decreases the social embarrassment, this PE coach is a G.

You dont need to show them how to fail, people are human and can easily be explained as to how failing is ok. Thus convo would also help that person to grow rather than showing them being a smuck is still winning when its not. We had a PE teacher in his maybe late 50s, he had a beer belly and looked out of shape, but he was so fast on the field we couldn't keep up with him, it turns out he was the national champion in track and field, and we weren't bad or anything I mean we were football players some of us were trackers as well. JJ really had our asses handed to us anytime we went to challenge him. RIP JJ.
I love this these are CHILDREN he's teaching. They literally cannot handle as much cruelty without breaking due to countless factors including; age, experience, and the fact their hormones are melting their brains. I was really overweight in highschool. My coach at the time had everyone do there pushup test out in the open. For me she allowed me to try in private. We both knew I was going to fail. But I understand she had to do her job. If I had to do that test in front of everyone, I know it would have just increased my depression and continued my bad cycle of eating. But her compassion in that moment motivated me to loose the weight faster than ever. I lost 100lbs in a year. People didn’t even recognize me. The next year I didn’t have the same coach but she saw me in the hallway and complimented my progress. Thank you to coaches like this for making it a safe environment for everyone to become healthy!
