Yes! Yes! Yes!
Thank you!!!!!!!
I don't like sewing in all those ends even though I really enjoy doing multi color works. Going to try your idea soon. Thanks much.

I HATE sewing in ends. Thanks Clare for this helpful tip
Me too! You are very welcome
Genius is the art of making something simple become ordinary. Brill!
Yay!!!
Love it. Much neater than just crocheting over the tail and much more secure! xx

Wow.... that was a derr moment for me watching that! I often crochet over my ends but have never flip flopped the yarn like you just did! Brilliant! I go through bursts of not minding sewing in ends & other times of hating it & procrastinating! I'm in that phase now, so I've designated "Finish It Fridays" for sewing in ends & sewing on buttons on baby cardigans which I detest more than sewing in ends!!! Once I get started, I wonder why I make such a fuss of it as it's done in no time at all! Anyhow, love that tip, Clare!! I just have to remember to do it! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
Thanks. I'd always crocheted over the tail on top of my previous row. I like this much better.
Oh Yes, this is great. Made a granny square afghan with 12 color changes and 24 ends per square. Had 20 blocks. I was so tired weaving in the ends. Thank you for the tip. 🤗
I hate sewing in ends! This is great. Thanks Clare❤
No worries. Thank you for watching
I hate sewing ends but this technique looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing!

My oh my I've missed your whistling intro more than I thought😄, I want that project tutorial, it looks great Clare! Great hide your end tip too, flip flop it, is a good way to describe it as well..love it, and will give it a go!
Awwww me too! When I was editing it made me think....I'm baaaaack! 😍 You know how much that means xxx
This is amazing. I'm in the middle of 50 scrap lapghans. I've had a lot off tails. These are going to the local dialysis center. I came within days of needing their services before receiving a kudney transplant. It's my way of giving back and letting God know i appreciate it.
Thanks again.
That is a beautiful gift 🥰
I am a retired NHS nurse and you brought back a memory for me of a patients Mum making quilted jackets whilst waiting in the dialysis unit Not crochet I know but Thank you for bringing that memory back and wow 50 blankets !!
So sorry you just learnt this. My gran showed me 50 years ago. I thought everyone knew this lol
Oh your Gran is one smart lady!
Far out, Clare ! - you little beauty !!! This is definitely a ripper of a hack, for which I heartily thank you. :)
You are very welcome and thank you for watching my video
Yes, I hate sewing ends in. Thank you!
No worries thank you so much for watching
Well, that's the cleverest thing ever!! Thanks for sharing. 🥰
Thank you and thank you for watching my video
💡 This was such a brilliant idea 👏🏾 I hate weaving in yarn ends, too!! Thank you for sharing this tip with us. God bless you 🙏🏾
You are very welcome
Something else about carrying a different color is that it makes the work thicker, which is nice for winter season hats, etc. And the carried yarns don't show as much as you might think...
Absolutely!
Seems it would be a lot more secure than just crocheting over or sewing it in. Thank you for sharing. Very cool.
You’re welcome 😊
I seem to remember years ago you did a video where you crochet over the tail. This is soooo much nicer and probably more secure 🤩
You are correct and yes I think so too much more secure
Indeed I do 😂 and have done this 👍
This could be a game changer for mosaic crocheting ❤
Absolutely!
Great technique but I don't hate sewing in ends. Good to know this way too.
Awesome! Thanks for watching
Love this! Also hate sewing in ends.
G'day rebornnowami2013 thank you so much!

I hate weaving in ends! Thank you!
Me too!
Thank you. Game changer. I took it a step further. As I burying it through the stitch the way you show, I am also weaving it under the stitch. Crochet over it first, the finish the way you show. Now it is going three different directions… back, forward, and under.
Oooo I like that Donna
OMG!!! Genius!!! I love your tutorials and tips. Can't wait for more.
Aww thank you Jodie!
Great tip Clare! Totally invisible! Thanks for sharing!🤗🤗
Thank you for watching I really appreciate it
This is INCREDIBLE!!! I will be trying this in my project.
Thank you friend 😘 💗
Thank you! Cheers! Hope you are well!!
Wow! I've never seen anything like this before. I will definitely try this.
Thank you 😊

I dislike sewing in the ends. I'm gonna try the technique that you showed in this video.
Thank you Tammy
That is awesome!!! Thanks for the tip, Clare! I’m gonna have to try and pass along as well to friends. Brilliant. ❤❤
Thank you so much!!!
I love it!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you 🥰😍. Never seen this technique. You're a genius 👏
Awww thanks!
Brilliant! Thank you so much. I hate weaving in tails. Oxoxo
I think we all hate tails. Lmao!!
Thank you for a great time saving tip. Less frustration now.😁
No worries Denise 🥰
I had started choosing projects based on how few ends I would have to sew in at the end, which is annoying because I love colouful and scrap projects. I find sewing in ends to be a boring chore! Thanks for the tip!
I do that too!
I’ve done something similar but not with this back-and-forth motion. I think your way will probably work better than what I’ve been doing. Thanks for the video! ❤
Same here 😊
You are very welcome, thank you so much for watching the video
Thankyou great tip I used to just run it along the back but I find it finds its way out . Your tip looks a lot more secure ty Lovely blanket
You are so welcome!
Yes I hate doing the ends love your idea
Thank you Doris
Thanks for sharing!
I do use this method! I also 'sew in' my ends at the END of my row!
*At the end of the row, fold your last tail back and lay it on top of your working row. Crochet over the end and after your last stitch, give your work a slight tug to straighten your edge if needed.
Cut- Stitch- Repeat! *
LIFESAVER/TIME SAVER!
I use this method especially when I am working with mosaic Crochet. I hope you try the ending of the row method!
God bless and happy stitching ❤
Ooooo that's a fantastic idea!!!!! I will try that on my blanket

Thank you Setta! Hope you are well 🙏 🥰
Yes. I like this idea
THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US 👌💐
No worries Sharon 👍
This is a great tip Clare, thank you for sharing!
You are very welcome 🙏
Wow! Just WOW! Who would’ve thought that flipping the tail end front and back of the work in progress would eliminate the need for sewing in the ends!!! Thanks for the tutorial. It’s truly a game changer.
I’m now going to wait for instructions on how to make the kind of blanket you’re working on!! Looks like a great project 👍🏼👍🏼
Agreed! So simple yet awesome!
I need to edit the video and get the pattern tested. Hopefully not to long!

When I learned mosaic crochet, the pattern I did used the tails on each side to make fringe.
AWESOME! Thanks, Clare!
No worries Karen thank you for watching my video
You can do the end the same way. When you get close to the end, just lay it up across the top/back of the row, and simply crochet over it :)
Brilliant Clare 🎊 🎉
Thanks gorgeous!
Funnily enough, I discovered this way of hiding my ends by accident, Clare, as I loathe sewing in ends!
It's a great way of hiding them 🤣
I also do the same for the ends at the opposite side, too, just grabbing up the ending, as I begin a new line, catching up the old ending in whatever my first stitch of the new line is. Of course, it's much easier when doing rounds, but works so well with flat pieces, as you showed us! 😀
Anyhoo, I rarely have to sew in ends any more 🤣
BTW, Clare, I can't wait for this tutorial, as your piece looks glorious - & I have a load of leftover balls of yarn to use up! ❤️
Twinsies! Oooo I will have to try on the end as well.
Fantastic idea, I will definitely try this. Love it, thank you.
No worries Janet thank you so much for watching
I have just crocheted one side of a multi coloured jumper and have lots of ends to sew in😒.The second side is definitely going to be tried using your method THANKS 😆
You are very welcome good luck with the method
I like it. Thanks Claire 😊
No worries!
Wow, thank you, Clare. I never considered that way before. It's definitely something I'm looking forward to trying. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗
Thank you snd same back at you!

Fabulous tip! Thanks. 😊
You are so welcome!
Terrific technique and very clean looking! I carry up yarn this way when changing colors; but haven't seen or thought of it for sewing in ends. Thank you for showing!! 💕👏💕
Me Too! And when I figured this one out I couldn't believe that it was so easy
I dislike sewing seams or ends in that I have even re-worked a whole sweater pattern on 4 and 6 needles so I didn't have to sew seams or ends in!! lol!! So I started doing this trick years ago!! It certainly has been a game-changer!! M
Wow that's a lot of work!
Oh wow! I don't hate sewing in ends but I'm definitely going to use this technique as it will save time. Thanks Clare!
You are very welcome!!!
Fantastic just fantastic!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great tip! Thank you for sharing.

Love this. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Cozette Wendemu !
Love this! Thank you!
You are very welcome!
Nice! I will definitely have to try that tip!
Thank you!
Interesting way of doing it. I’ve seen it done where you lie the ends down and crotchet over, but not like this. It seems a neater way and I might try it out.
Thank you
Thank you Cara
Will use this .Thanks!!
Thanks for watching Dina
Awesome idea!
Thank you so much
That's brilliant 👏
Thank you 😊
Thank you for that tip. I’ve never seen it done like that before.
You are very welcome!!
Grate tip
I heave no problem with the ends😅I am a seamstress
And is easy for me 😊❤
Awesome!!
Brilliant, thanks for sharing
Thank you and thank you for watching
Love it. Thank you.
You are very welcome thank you for watching
I love your tips!! They are all so organic to the work.
As a knitter of literally decades, a very similar method is how I always worked in ends.
So it was natural for me to do it when I picked up crochet from YT during the pandemic. I never thought anything of it, since it was automatic for me. I'm glad it works so well for you!!
I've always believed some techniques between the two crafts were interchangeable. Which one you work is simply a matter of preference at the time. It doesn't seem to me that there was always such a separate 'tribe' feeling about different methods - it was all just fiber handwork.
BTW, there are ways to hide contrast colors and work it on the other end, both are a bit more involved, though.
To hide the contrast, flip the tail up and over right after the first yo, but don't bring it front. Then flip it after the first loop is pulled up, but again, don't bring it forward. The worked in end will resemble a very short Fair Isle knitting carry. Little specks of contrast will be visible, but your eye will ignore them.
For the end of the row, start a few stitches from the end. Keep the yarn attached, pull out a very long amount of yarn, then work over the end still attached to the ball with the end attached to your work. Once you get to the end of the work, pull the worked over end snug, and cut it.
Like I said, a bit more involved. But it works.
Sorry if sharing this seems impertinent, it certainly was not my intent. Just something to try. 😊
I love the tip for the end if the row!!! I need to try that. Thanks for watching my video 🥰
Wow! Thanks Clare. This is a game changer. 💙
No worries Lisa. Thanks for watching
I've never flipped the yarn back and forth while finishing the stitch. This is a great idea. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!!

This is great Clare! I'll be looking for the tutorial for the blanket you are making. I love all the colors!
Thank you so much!!
Champion Clare!! :)
Awww thank you 😊
this is the way I do ends too but not just when starting a row. I use it whenever I can, if the color matches well enough to not be noticed. I look forward to a tutorial on that stitch pattern.
That is excellent, thank you so much for watching
Yay!!! Thanks so much 👏💕👏
You are very welcome!
I quite liked watching this approach but I don't understand why it wasn't used for the other side of the work as well. I hope you'll do another video showing how to conceal all the ends. Thank you.
This project is worked all on the one side 😉 I hope to have the tutorial out soon
Brilliant!!!
Thank you so much!
Love it!
Thank you Amanda and thank you for watching
Great idea!!! I have to tey
Thanks Amelia. Let me know how you like it
Thanks for sharing.
You are very welcome!
I started doing this a few years ago when I made my first Sophie’s Universe. I use a needle to just go through a few stitches toward the start just to make sure that little tail doesn’t unravel. It really just takes a min and gives me extra peace of mind. You can do it for those tails on the other end also. When you are several stitches from the end lay the tail on the top of the existing stitches, then weave it as you go just like you did with these tails. No need to use a needle on these ones since the yarn goes both ways. I hope that makes sense.
thank you for the great tips!
I don't usually mind sewing in ends, depending on how many ends there are. I sew in ends after each square and/or row completed, to make it easier.
Great tip though, I could utilise this making the Pokemon lapghan.
I wish I had your habits! Thanks for watching
I like this method. I’ve been doing something similar when I need to carry a color up the side of a project so I don’t get big, loose loops up the side, but this is clever!
Thank you Robin! 😊

Good tip
Thank you 😊
Brilliant!! No need for a knot? It really won't come out in the wash? And btw Clare, you were certified with all of us even without that piece of paper but congratulations!! :-)
Yes! Thank you!, you can knot it if you feel better with the know :)
Brilliant
Thank you !
Oh I absolutely hate sewing in the ends! Haha
Don’t we all
Really cool! 😊
Thank you so much!
I do this with my tales and I weave in the ends that I can't do it to. But when I weave ends I use a sharp needle and split the yarn so the tales are really secure!
Clare...what is this pattern???? I would love to make a rug with this stitch and all if my scrap yarn!!!
I just heard the beginning of the video.....please do a tutorial on this stitch!!!!!
Yes there will be a tutorial soon!
I have filmed it. Just need to edit the video a d have the written pattern tested 🥰
Hope you are well
