      I had 2.5A*, 6A, 1B, 1C which is below average for the average medical student but I've had 1 offer and 3 interviews so far. GCSEs don't matter for most unis but make sure you apply to unis that don't care about GCSEs. Apply to unis that only want you to meet the minimum GCSE requirements (e.g, Newcastle, Brighton and Sussex, Plymouth, Exeter etc.). Keep in mind though this means your other parts of your application need to be strong

    • @HassanPoyo
      @HassanPoyo 7 лет назад +2

      rafath chowdury some people want to do it because: money, prestige, genuinely want to help people, enjoy sciences, enjoy ethics and philosophy, want to keep the NHS alive, flexible career choices, good job security. Many reasons. But the ones going in for prestige and money arent in the right state if mind.

    • @rafathchowdury1968

      hassan nassar but tbh there’s so many other ways you can get money and prestige

    • @HassanPoyo
      @HassanPoyo 7 лет назад +1

      rafath chowdury when you’re in GCSE you are still immature and young and i know that from experience that many people (almost 60%) from my school said they wanted to do medicine for money.
      Now that people see what medicine is all about, a lot of people have looked at other careers which makes me happy because it lessens the number of misinformed people going into medicine and gives a chance for those who genuinely want to study the subject.

    • @HassanPoyo
      @HassanPoyo 7 лет назад

      rafath chowdury Yes a lot of people tend to find that out during A-levels. They can chase money with less stress with degrees such as economics and engineering etc. Im not saying that every student wants to chase money but if you ask people, genuinely, most will say that money is a factor when deciding what career path to go through

    • @rafathchowdury1968
      @rafathchowdury1968 7 лет назад +1

      hassan nassar yh I’m doing economics and physics and maths cuz I realised I could get the same amount of money by do these subjects rather than one like med where the competition is considerably high

      YES YOU CAN but in my school you really have to pester your teachers/heads of department (or whomever is incharge) to get them changed, call it persistence. Also you need to try and get the best grades you can in all your test from here until end of year exams, even if it's just a key word test, so your teachers see that you are actually capable of reaching those higher predictions. Hope that info helps a little bit.
