The H1 or whatever it's called is sexier tho (smoke dischargers on turret, air filters in the back, wheels look better) but it looks kinda naked without the extra tracks on the front hull...

Of course gaijin fucked up something that they did good. The tiger was finally balanced with the is1 because the is1 has APCR rounds and the Tiger does not. Now they finally gave the tiger apcr rounds and a 5.7 br. But what do they do after? They give it a fucking 6.0 BR and they change the tiger h1's BR to from a 5.3 to a 5.7 again. Unless gaijin gives the tiger h1 APCR ammo then i'm calling bullshit russian bias on this
its kinda like all the german L/70 75mm guns in tier three not having apcr, they don't want any German tank being too powerful because their br system is setup to make the Russian tanks have a higher chance of winning. (and I get into games with is-2 1944's in my tiger h so it does need apcr at 5.7)
Oh shut the fuck up. Do you ever think about how overpowered the tiger would be at 5.3? The tiger does just fine art 5.7.

TheYamato101 I know the tiger does good at 5.7 but seeing a is-2 1944 is too much. (so yeah, all tanks that had apcr should have it)

Tanks often got blown up by handheld weaponry fired from buildings in urban environments, hence the Tiger got an armour upgrade on the top of the turret. (Many other tank variants did too)
I am pretty stoked about a new Tiger I in the game. The fact that it has APCR is just a bonus. I also believe that 30mm additional armor ont the front lower plate will make it much harder to set on fire from the front from its most common enemies the T-34-85 D5T and the 76mm Shermans that don't have APCR. It will actually be able to tank some rounds from the front at distance now.

The SU-85M does, but they are actually quite rare to run into, at least for me anyway. The 85mm ACPR is really not great in comparison to the US and German rounds. It is good at closer ranges however.

You should bring less ammo in a Tiger 1 tank. When you carry more than 23 rounds the rounds are stored in the upper sides of the tank making it a easy target for the enemy.

The tiger h got into tier4 games, where it had no chance to survive the panthers, and it had problems penetrating the Panther, so now when it gets more into t3 battles, it's going to be useful, and it got replaced with the tiger e which gets the same matchmaking as the tiger h had before. It's nice!!!
A good way to counteract getting one-shotted in the Tiger is to reduce your ammo before your spawn. by taking only about 15 rounds of ammo you can almost eliminate getting one-shotted. Gaijin did good by actually implementing that into the game. Just press i while in a game to see that your reduced ammo has been stored better. Happy Gaming!

35 puts all your ammo in the back, and 2 on the sides, so if you peep your first 1/2 you' be safe, but recently i found out the ammo switch off doesn't really work, ammo explosion dose occur even if theres no ammo there.
go in with 44 ammo and you only only use the back 3 row of ammo racks. You still get enough rounds so that you won't run out, and you are even more unlikely to get one shot
Forgot it has a higher turret traverse speed, and it can be competitive with tiger 2's if you know where to shoot BUT you have to use the apcr.

It does when you have ground attack planes (in absolute sim) like the P-39 unloading their claibre of ~40mm on your head!
The problem with the Tiger E, is it's BR and the matchmaking. Currently the server is full with IS-3s and T-32s, which are 7.0. As the Tiger E is 6.0, you will continuously meet them. I downgraded back to my Tiger H, which is BR 5.7. This gives me usually a longer waiting time to get into battle, but I do mostly see tanks of my BR.
I would never have brought in the King Tiger. I would have fitted the Pak43 in the Tiger with a turret extension for the longer recoil.
I would have put 30mm bolt on plates on the drivers plate and lower hull plate to keep out the Soviet 85mm gun down to near point blank range, as it could be penetrated at 600 metres.
I'd put in a bit more powerful engine and a new transmission as the real one caused problems, and that would compensate for the couple of tons weight increase.
You'd have a 60 to tank armoured against the T-34/85 and with a gun to kill the JS-2.
the tiger e fixes the biggest problem of the tiger h1. 130 pen isnt gonna work when you can face t44s, and tiger 2s

The reason why the top armor was so strong was to protect against rockets and what ever else that the allies dropped on them.
3:33 lol the tiger H at 5.7 is getting thrown in 6.7 games, so the tiger E will be facing tier 4's and even 5's.
Great to see some much needed improvements especially to the commanders cupola. How many times have I been destroyed because my cupola was visible even though I was 'hull down". Nothing but ricochet into the turret space. Still think some of the physics in the game need fixing. Shot at Sherman 76mm within 50m and still didn't destroy it, yet Shermans were known by the German's as Tommy Cookers and Ronson's by allied crews as they brewed up when hit.
The tiger tanks are easy to ammo rack from the front if you aim at the same flat plate that has the drivers hatch. So aim at that same plate to the extreme left or extreme right and use apcr if you need to but one shot goes in and the tiger is dead this is how I counter tigers in my su85 from the front
Hmm. At 6.0 it'll be facing IS-2 mod 1944, the M26, and possibly the IS-3.....

i think they needed to just give the tiger h some apcr rounds, in the tiger h i ran into is2's and t44 and persings. all of which i have problems penning. i feel with apcr rounds, the tiger h would have made it be able to at least deal with some of the tanks on the upper range of its matchmaking/ battleteers

the Panzerkamfwagen VI or Tiger 1 Ausf. E was actually the first like searies of tiger tanks the Tiger H was I believe the last of the series which was the suckiest tank ever built compared to the Ausf. E the Ausf. E had tracks on the frontal slant for armour reasons however when WWII was coming to the end the Ausf H was built under less materials
No, the E is the late model and H the early model, The Tiger E have more armour on the top of the tank because of that the H variant couldnt sustain hits from artillery. The tiger E also have a different engine and improved transmission, also the hatch on the tiger H is too high and made it easy to spot sometimes so they lowered it (the commanders hatch) on the E variant. THIS is why the tiger E is the tank you can research only once you've researched the tiger H1

It always feels awkward when production and design doesn't fit with the unlock, (such as M4A1 coming before M4), but so long as it's actually better, I'll be fine with it. For instance, I'm NOT fine with the M4 being an "upgrade" to the M4A1, which I feel is the superior vehicle- less weak spots.
The Tiger E is the one in world of tanks.... I got confused with the H and the E because I noticed the tiger was missing a lot of detail because I thought it was the H but now I see the differences and I know the Tiger E is the World Of Tanks one.
I would love to see custom battles with love 4-5 tigers with a panther or two vs all 75mm shermans maybe a couple 76mm shermans
Sucks how i grinded for this so bad only to be thrown into games way too tough for it. Apparently adding a few tracks in places and an MG on the roof means i am suddenly to pro for the previous tier

***** The lower glacius is relatively weak compared to other areas on the Tiger.... since when? It's the same thickness as the upper hull plate (102mm) and has better angling on it.

i got an lucky shot once on the Tiger 1H with my KV-2 now i dont play so much with the soviets but i hit the front armor just penetrated it like hell and the whole tank inside went to hell XD
from the tank selection it looks like the tiger G is smaller than the tiger H1

I don't get why I need to grind 75 000 experience, 15 000 more than the original, to get the same tank with marginally better armour, the same gun and a mounted MG.
The only difference is that the E can carry APCR, when it has the same gun as the H.
I get t4 battles in my tiger H 95% of the time, so i wouldn't mind having just 1 tiger with apcr.
I hate so much those mg's from the top of the turret that are used by ghosts

Putting spare tracks over a area actually increased the chance of penetration. Well according to a US tests during the war.

Hey Baron, still a big fan here, but wanted to raise a question. Is the Tiger I's lower glacis really that much of a weak spot? It has the same thickness as the upper plate, with the added bonus of being angled downward, thus giving 120mm or so of LOS protection. If anything, it's actually stronger than the upper plate from dead on, and angling the tank like you should only increases its advantage. The lower hull extension under the transmission is much thinner than both, but is a tiny target and very often hidden by terrain not to mention angled even more than the lower glacis. In my experience, the lower glacis is only a better shot to take if tank is cresting a hill.

That can still be caused by a pen in the upper glacis. Though I have wrote several nastygrams to Gaijin about that issue as hits to the transmission don't cause a fire like what they have modeled in-game currently.
I'd be more worried about someone shooting straight through the upper plate and ammo racking me.
how do you view the armor thickness and the internals?
plus, how do you look around in tanks and planes without turning your turret/plane around to see where the enemy is at?

They should lower the battlerating on the tigers - its most of the time a one shot deal in tier 4 matches - though it can be to op in tier 3 matches :)
is-2 is 6.0, su-122 is 4.7 now?, and the tiger is 5.7...still gets oneshot due to the Russian tanks being setup to win (under tiered tanks being Russian and American have the advantage in br)

Out of curoisity does the tiger H1 get to fire APCR munitions now too? I always found that it was stupid that the Porsche tiger prototype did and the H1 does not since they both have the same gun.
