I'm without power about 8 seconds while my 33kw second hand diesel generator cranks and transfer happens. Having been in the dark 2 months after Hugo in 89, I swore "Never again." I paid $500 to a hospital clinic for mine with 280 hours on it. 250 gallons of fuel is stored underground refilled by grateful neighbors who have long cables to it to give them power.
Yns gone take your generator keep flexing🤣
but but going EV third world power frid
Texas says Hello.
👋🤠 Howdy From Tennessee
Hey from Chicago
Been driving around for hours today and haven't seen a single comed vehicle in 3 towns. 43% restored? WHERES THAT
I was so scared
But my sibling and my mom was all safe
That’s all we’re thankful for
I’m glad that you all are safe.
I prayed and I’m very blessed that the praying worked. The lights didn’t go out, nothing bad happened, no damages, but kinda a lot of damages around my home.
Most of em don't already, it's summer. They can shut off your power in the summer if you haven't paid your bill.
Well.. yea. Fuel costs money. A major fact of life right?
Dang I hope people is okay
What is wrong with our power grid in the USA?
If a pick pockets pocket were picked could a picker pocketers be picked too?
Imagine seeing how unreliable our power grid is and still thing we can go all electric with EVs
Why can’t electricity power lines be underground?
transmission lines intended for open-air use aren't suitable for burial underground, as they produce heat that can't dissipate through soil. For this reason, underground lines must be insulated - adding another step to the process and an additional expense, also they can flood and animals can easily get to them underground.
@@DAVID_DANGER plus repairs take much longer when they are needed, but iinm repairs are needed much less
But still, again iinm, overall the benefits of underground lines outweigh above ground lines
There's no magic solution. Moving power lines and equipment underground is expensive and time consuming to install, operate, and maintain. Moreover, underground lines tend to be less flexible as power demands may change over time. All of this additional cost is incurred on the customer. If you haven't noticed, municipalities that primarily have underground lines tend to be more affluent. What you don't see is the added costs on their power bill that helped pay for all of it. Underground is great for specific scenarios like storm events and is more aesthetically pleasing, but is more expensive. And when equipment fails as they inevitably do, it'll take longer to diagnose and make repairs, which can lead to longer outages.
This is how it's done Houston
i'm fucking pissed FIX IT
Those ev vehicles are charging, lol.
May Allah bless, save you
People still stuck on 55
The migrants have power and loaded debit cards
Comed finally picks up the phone,
