W4rl0rd1 oh... wait no! Hmm... I actually do like this one better now that I have listened to it more. The official song Chester's voice seemed to forced. I like how soft it is here. But I would like to hear them mixed. It that was your plan.... ??
Well, the instrumental is not as deep as the final version. The Owen Pallet arrangement on I'LL BE GONE has something really inspiring. Plus, the fact that they repeat some lyrics from a verse to another in this one is not super impressive. The techno at the end has nothing to do with the whole song. I think that the best version of I'LL BE GONE, in the end, is the instrumental version of the one in the album. It has something really catchy and deep.
+JoSeVenJo This version fitted more into the A Thousand Suns circle album, doesn't mean it's bad, just different and IMO, somehow better. I don't know about Owen's Pallet work but LIVING THINGS was a very convoluted album, some of the production sounded very weird like if it wasn't polished and again, in my opinion, with a few tweaks this version could have worked just fine in the final album.
Why the fuck did they not complete this? This is so much better than I'LL BE GONE. That song was overproduced with guitar that was way too loud. If the lyrics of this version were complete it would be among their best songs
This lyric hit me hard and is so bittersweet. 💔😭 It makes me cry and totally sad BUT I love these version so much, it's PERFECT!! Just carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh, don't let anyone take my place Take my place You have gone forever and I miss you so so much and no one could ever take your place, Chester.
good one! if you listen carefully to the lyrics, it actually sounds like if the one that is singing the song is going to commit suicide... maybe that's why they decided to change it...
why does everything in music have to be an unnecessary comparison "oh, this is better than the Living things version". NO! this version is dope and so is the ORIGINAL!. jus enjoy another take on a familiar song, why not love em both?...
good song, not good enough for the album in my opinion, they could have completed it, instruments are nice, I'll Be Gone is much more complete though and still a good song, + the lyrics are better in I'll Be Gone.
Like shinning oil this night is dripping down Night is dripping down Glistening And I’m trying not to think what I’m leaving now Cause I'm leaving now It’s time you let me go Let me go Till then carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone give you away Just carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone take my place Take my place This tear between us is getting thinner now Getting thinner now Bittersweet And ‘cross that horizon this sun is setting now Slowly setting now It’s time to let me go Let me go Till then carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone give you away Just carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone take my place Take my place Just carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone give you away Just carry on And miss me when I'm gone Oh don't let anyone take my place Take my place Tell them I couldn’t help myself And tell them I was alone Tell them I was the only one And there’s nothing that can stop me from going home Tell them I couldn’t help myself And tell them I was alone Oh tell them I was the only one And there’s nothing that can stop me From going home! Oh tell them I was the only one And there’s nothing that can stop me From going home!
This demo really could have fit in the A thousand suns album
Imagine the mash ups between this and the finished version of I'll Be Gone... the guitars crashing down after the first chorus... yesh :)
yeah!!!!
good idea
if the release a multitrack of it will be possible
Both versions are amazing and powerful! Chills listening to this.
i like the melody, and instrumental better then the official version. If only they fit the official lyrics to this it would be perfect
i have a plan :)

RIP Chester.

Samething with PALE, they should have put lyrics on pale.
It doesn´t seem to be incomplete for me. I love it as well as I´ll be gone so I would keep IBG as it is in album and Primo added as a bonus track :)
Descendant of Kraff I like more I'll Be Gone but this is awesome too
This have a really good sound and I'll be gone have great lyrics
Rip Chester you will be missed:(
This lyric hit me hard and is so bittersweet. 💔😭 It makes me cry and totally sad BUT I love these version so much, it's PERFECT!!
Just carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh, don't let anyone take my place
Take my place
You have gone forever and I miss you so so much and no one could ever take your place, Chester.
Sweet Jesus, I like this one more than the album version!!!!
This is incredible! I think I eargasmed. I adored the LIVING THINGS version but this is fabulous, too.
better than the living things version
I can't wait for the whole lpu13 !!
AWWW NICE!!! Epic Version of IBG soooo sweet awww
I love it damn..... keep going LP
I love you for putting this up!
This!
Kocham to... I love this song!
I prefer this version, even though the original by itself is my favorite song.
You gotta love the original version, but this one is just a bit better.
Nice nice song
RIP chester
Really powerful, It's obvious this about Suicide
more about war. Don't be that negative:)
onemoretime2222 Not trying to be negative just saying tell the fact and So what you're saying it's about going AWOL? No i don't think so.
good one! if you listen carefully to the lyrics, it actually sounds like if the one that is singing the song is going to commit suicide... maybe that's why they decided to change it...
I wouldn't see why they would change it cause it sounds suicidal, I mean breaking the habit is suicidal
MisterHotShotX
no mike wrote the lyrics based on chesters drug addiction he had before he was part of the band
why does everything in music have to be an unnecessary comparison "oh, this is better than the Living things version". NO! this version is dope and so is the ORIGINAL!. jus enjoy another take on a familiar song, why not love em both?...
EXACTLY!!!
Muito foda!!
This should have been the version wtf
mike should've rap on this song during the bridge or something. anyways, awesome demo!!!!
good song, not good enough for the album in my opinion, they could have completed it, instruments are nice, I'll Be Gone is much more complete though and still a good song, + the lyrics are better in I'll Be Gone.
Where's the full CD?!
guitar intro sounds like it belongs in red vs blue lol
They should've just kept the final version like it is here, folky, without the over power guitar.
Does anyone have the full album?
サビはこっちの方がいいな。
Download link?
the song structure is great but the drums..... the drums seem at of place
How the fuck did this turn into I'll Be Gone?
The Techno style they were going for. They just threw some techno onto it and called it quits.
You can thank Owen Pallet for that. For some reason, someone below in the comments prefers that version of this one wich is MUCH better imo.
LMAO what, are you 8?@@sk8_films855
Are there lyrics?

Like shinning oil this night is dripping down
Night is dripping down
Glistening
And I’m trying not to think what I’m leaving now
Cause I'm leaving now
It’s time you let me go
Let me go
Till then carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone give you away
Just carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone take my place
Take my place
This tear between us is getting thinner now
Getting thinner now
Bittersweet
And ‘cross that horizon this sun is setting now
Slowly setting now
It’s time to let me go
Let me go
Till then carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone give you away
Just carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone take my place
Take my place
Just carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone give you away
Just carry on
And miss me when I'm gone
Oh don't let anyone take my place
Take my place
Tell them I couldn’t help myself
And tell them I was alone
Tell them I was the only one
And there’s nothing that can stop me from going home
Tell them I couldn’t help myself
And tell them I was alone
Oh tell them I was the only one
And there’s nothing that can stop me
From going home!
Oh tell them I was the only one
And there’s nothing that can stop me
From going home!
