- For a long time my dad and I have planed to film the Market Frankford El from 69th street to the Frankford Transportation Center. Finally we decided to take a trip on Saturday to ride almost all the septa lines including Patco. Those will be in their own video's. Since it was and awesome day to film the EL and I got many great meets with trains. I even get a mini race between a LRV and the M4 train I was on. At Spring Garden and near the end of the line a very loud passenger is talking on the phone and I am sorry about that. Finally as we enter the Frankford Transportation Center we cross over to the westbound track. My dad and I then stayed a bit to film our train leaving and our return train entering the station.
Great video! Thanks for posting! I love the new cars. I wish I would have been able to ride the old Almons Joys! :)
Thanks and anytime! Yeah me to I remember seeing them when some were delivered. Oh trust me the old Almond cars were awesome. I have many great memories of them. I even have one of the original light housing to one of the cars :-)
nice ride! thanks.
thanks and anytime!!
Thank you :-)

keon barber Thank you, I am glad you enjoy my filming. I subbed you back. Thanks again :-)
I dig ur cities train system, very interesting ride I finally got 2 c Philly 4 myself great vid. Although Chicago's CTA is the coolest train system n the world, well it used 2 b until Rahm Emanuel became mayor of this great city. Re: cool vid.
Indeed its the second oldest in the US. Well the CTA is cool a very unique in its own right. NYC's system is more complex then the CTA but those junctions on the CTA are something also. I think the CTA is still cool at least they still run a large fleet of historic trains like NYC. Septa sucks for not doing that. Although we got the PCC 2's
@ Barbe that's cool :-)
I haven't been on the El past Girard in probably close to a decade
Wow that's a long time. I am sure you'll ride it again. The new section is super smooth.
Went to St. Joe's Prep (highschool) 1979-1983 via 66 trackless trolley , EL, Rt 15 trolley - nostalgia!!
The Budd cars had better headlights.
You were on an M4, the M3s retired years ago.
Indeed that's true they were but that was a typo mistake I didn't see. Thanks!!
Thought the M4s retired. Could've sworn they have retired. Oh well.
No, they are still running strong.
that's fine.
I live there
just wondering, what was Philly's El like before they reconstructed it? New Yorker here, so I'm used to seeing dark steel structures over our streets..
+Netbook451 here is a link to the history of it www.nycsubway.org/wiki/SEPTA_Market-Frankford_Elevated
+Netbook451 video link to what it looked like with the original 1903 structure ruclips.net/video/I2H_YlHVsyg/видео.html..I would watch the whole video so you''ll see the whole thing its really awesome!
