  • Diatonic scales- Lean on Me by Billy Withers is a beautiful song but all is does is going up the C major scale. When people say that practicing scales is boring, well, just put it in a song like this.
The second part of the video is the ultimate way of learning a scale, inside and out.
Dan Hawkins explains this really well. If you need more theory understanding in a short video-- he's easy to understand.

These kinds of exercises are really good. I wouldn't practice them with a backing track untill I had them down.
I'm working on something similar 😊

I should have slowed the track down... yup, messy!

I'm jealous! I had the opportunity of buying one (5 string), but I bought this one, and didn't think that I needed, yet, another bass. Wrong!

@@bassrumblings the low B is nice but to be honest after 30 years of playing a 4 string is still my go to. If victor Wooten can be complacent in a 4 string, so can we.

I'm going to give you advice that my teacher gave me when I started this kind of thing.
Pluck more assertively with the pads of your fingers. Your notes don't sound definitive and it's important to practice your tone at the same time as the notes

I will definitely put my attention to this!
