I'm glad they killed off few characters of Thunderclan in TBC. However, I'm not glad they killed the interesing characters who actually had personality (Stemleaf, Rosepetal).
Yeah. They should’ve killed one of the clone babies like Leafshade, Hollytuft, or Honeyfur. No one cares about them. At least Rosepetal and Stemleaf had their own characters instead of “yeah I’m here to fill in scenes and be retconed every book”

About the weird timeline, something that has bothered me for months. Ashkit (fur) and Fernkit (cloud) were born in Into The Wild. They were still apprentices in The Darkest Hour. The time between Into The Wild and The Darkest Hour is about two years. Yet they're apprenticed a little less than a year old, near warrior age. And just before the Bloodclan battle, Ash and Fern ask to be become warriors with Thornclaw and Brightheart and Firestar declines. Why? Because they're "too young". THEY'RE A YEAR YOUNGER THAN FIRESTAR.
Age really is the funniest thing in warriors because you’ll have perfectly young cats like Mousefur who retired in the second arc and are treated as old people and then you’ll have actual old people still having babies and in dangerous patrols being young and nimble.
Mousefur, who was repeatedly called "young" in the previous series: man I sure am old now. Thornclaw, who has been around since series one and is still there: oh boy! TIME FOR THE DAWN PATROL!

12 really isn’t that old for a cat to be honest. My cat is 19 and she’s almost completely as active and put together as she was when she was young. Maybe my cat is like part of the kitty masterace or something but surely 12 isn’t ancient
I think part of it is that wild cats don't live as long as house cats due to being at risk of predators weather illness etc. But cause their all fictional cats I can see there being some suspension of disbelief as well lol
@warppowder1428 well they die of illness and predators but if none of that kills them off I'm pretty sure they live as long as most housecats, maybe even longer cuz they aren't obese
I've seen lots of cats starting to develop their old age diseases at 11+, like Pyometra if they weren't spayed. So I think 11+ is definitely when a cat's body will start slowing down or start showing the effects of their lifespan.

I feel like if Bramble ever dies, stormcloud should be squilfs(squils?) mate, even though my preference is that squilf doesnt deal with anymore "mate problems" they seem to really like giving cats mate after mate after mate, look at clear sky and gray wing for example. I know squilf mentored stormcloud, but i always saw it as a cloudpaw and brightpaw thing. Also in bramblestars storm, stormcloud acts very determined in a way that mirrors squirrelpaw, which I find cute. 2:05: BEEZEPELT :D
I feel like Stormcloud would work better as Sparkpelts mate. Not only would it be nice for Sparkpelt to get a new mate in general, but they also actually have some nice scenes together in Squilfs SE. When Sparkpelt is too depressed to take care of her kits, Stormcloud often played with them outside the nursery. And he also visited her a lot and brought her some prey because she wasnt eating enough. It was really sweet

Sorry to comment late on this, this is like my 5th rewatch of this video (hi Moonkitti, big fan lol) but I wonder how long it will take for the Erins to realize Mosspelt is still an elder. Like, she's probably around Mistystar's age and she was the one to suckle Stormfur and Feathertail when they got taken to Riverclan. She's getting to be an old little kitty. We were all making jokes about immortal Mistystar when we should have been talking about my girl Mosspelt.
In my heart, daisy never retires. She stays, and she continues to help around camp and be midwife till the end of her days. I think she loves her job and simply just one day going to get really old and (hopefully) die in her sleep. Daisy deserves the world 💜
This just makes me want to see a parent & child together in the elders den in a sense that their parent is just ancient and still around i think it could be an interesting dynamic.
I feel like Frostpaw is gonna end up being the leader of Riverclan with how Riverstar is treating her. I'd also kind of like to see Rootspring and Nightheart become deputy and eventually leader of thunderclan and skyclan but I don't trust the Erins ability to do that.
Personally I would rather Nightheart become ThunderClan's mediator, I think his character's unique pov would lend itself well to that, and it'd help flesh out the mediator position among all the clans.

Whenever you enable or disable captions, it displays a message saying “subtitles/CC turned on” for five seconds. This pop up actually covers half of the captions and it can be frustrating to wait for an extra 10 seconds every time there’s text overlapping the captions. I fully understand if it’s not feasible for you to redo videos that are basically done/ready to be posted, but going forward, it would help make your videos more accessible to your hearing impaired audience.
It’s not ideal but on OC you’re able to move the caption placement with your mouse, unfortunately it’s not a universal feature. This consideration from Moon would def go a long way!

I think 12 is a good age for warrior cats to retire. I know cats can live quite a long time. My cat is 16. But it makes sense that warriors would have a shorter lifespan because of their lifestyle. Not only can they die from predators, battles, and whatnot. But the rigorous training and patrolling probably also takes a toll on their bodies making them become “older” at a younger age. Which is one reason why I think Daisy does not seem as old as she actually is because she doesn’t train and patrol everyday.
I want Leafstar to pass away or step down so bad. She has been leader since BEFORE THE NEW PROPHECY!!!! We need a new Skyclan leader. Hopefully Hawkwing becomes rash and irresponsible and we get some good drama
Also, the writers have realised this and are making all the cats have kits when theyre older. Hence why they introduced a bunch of cats who dont want to immediately have kittens.
my personal headcannon is that thunderclan *isnt* significantly bigger than the other clans but there are just cats we don’t see in the other allegiances because the protagonists just don’t ever interact with them. just makes me feel like i’m losing my mind a bit less often when thinking about the books

Man the video is definitely not about this but. I always thought that Fernsong couldn't do what Daisy does because... well... even as a teenager, I thought the implication behind Daisy was a sort of cat wetnurse, feeding the kittens who's mothers couldn't do so for whatever reason. Like I'm not saying she's done that any time recently, but I thought that was always the implication in case there were kits who needed it. Boy cats can't do that, right? But I realize that might be an elephant in the room/overthinking it for a kids book series, haha. Overall though: I would love to see more elders. Just in a "congratulations! You survived the meat grinder that is this book series!" sort of way. I think it's really fun to see characters that have lasted through the whole series (even minor ones!) get old enough to retire gracefully.

I think 12 is a good age for warrior cats to retire. I know cats can live quite a long time. My cat is 16. But it makes sense that warriors would have a shorter lifespan because of their lifestyle. Not only can they die from predators, battles, and whatnot. But the rigorous training and patrolling probably also takes a toll on their bodies making them become “older” at a younger age. Which is one reason why I think Daisy does not seem as old as she actually is because she doesn’t train and patrol everyday.

A lot of the the cat age charts say 12 is ~64-65 which like is retirement age for a lot of people so it checks out I guess

Also, the writers have realised this and are making all the cats have kits when theyre older. Hence why they introduced a bunch of cats who dont want to immediately have kittens.
Imagine if Daisy was retconned to be one of Firestar's siblings from a later litter. Imagine how messed up the family tree would be.

my personal headcannon is that thunderclan *isnt* significantly bigger than the other clans but there are just cats we don’t see in the other allegiances because the protagonists just don’t ever interact with them. just makes me feel like i’m losing my mind a bit less often when thinking about the books

Man the video is definitely not about this but. I always thought that Fernsong couldn't do what Daisy does because... well... even as a teenager, I thought the implication behind Daisy was a sort of cat wetnurse, feeding the kittens who's mothers couldn't do so for whatever reason. Like I'm not saying she's done that any time recently, but I thought that was always the implication in case there were kits who needed it. Boy cats can't do that, right? But I realize that might be an elephant in the room/overthinking it for a kids book series, haha.
Overall though: I would love to see more elders. Just in a "congratulations! You survived the meat grinder that is this book series!" sort of way. I think it's really fun to see characters that have lasted through the whole series (even minor ones!) get old enough to retire gracefully.

That's why Sorrelstripe was nursing Flamekit and Finchkit in Squirrelflight's Hope and Sunshine was nursing Coriander and Little Daisy in Daisy's kin
