Enjoyed your video. I have two corner cupboards loaded with all Fenton milk white hobnail. Including a punch bowl and cups displayed in my living room. No duplicates ! I gave my daughter-in-law two lamps you showed at the end. I also have the short lamps in bedrooms. I also have a cupboard with Fenton pink hobnail. I also have blue, red, and brown pieces, all Fenton. My husband and friends visited the Fenton factory and showroom in West Virginia about twelve years ago. Wow ! I bought a hobnail ring plus many other pieces besides hobnail. It was going to close up because sales were so bad. There were only four people left painting the decorative pieces. We were told people are no longer interested in purchasing art glassware! So sad. But I love my collections.
I JUST ACROSS YOUR VIDEO, GREAT PIECES. HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA WE DON'T FIND ANYTHING CLOSE TO WHAT YOU HAVE, BUT I STILL COLLECT IT. I MANAGED TO GET A LAMP. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR INFORMATION . GREAT VIDEO
It is so refreshing to listen to someone who is knowledgeable about her co!section and can educate listeners accurately. I know enough to know you've done your homework. I collected silver crest for a period and have about 20 pieces. I stopped collecting as I don't have display space to do it justice. Keep up the good work!
Nancy Anderson Thank you so much for watching. Yes I do try to research every piece I like. There are lots of fakes out there. I hope I have helped you identify some of of your pieces😊
When I first discovered hobnail milk glass i fell right in love with it. Whoever decided to take Translucent white pottery and cover it with tiny spikes was a genius. I love my collection. Even my cat's food dish is a Fenton 😁
Wow! What a lovely collection. Just beautiful. There's just something special about milk glass. I have a large salad bowl and 6 individual serving bowls all with a leaf pattern from my mother in law who gave them to me before she passed on this last Mother's Day of 2024. Do you know anything about this style? Any information is helpful. Thank you.
That last piece...The gorgeous lamp is a show stopper!!! Midway into the video, I realized that I own one milk glass item...A tiny vase...after thinking I had nonw. Thanks
Absolutely gorgeous. I'm laughing at you collecting cake plates. I collect them too and pitchers and pyrex and punch bowls lol Not sure if you did the video of your other collections but I'll search your channel.
All beautiful 💕. The Canister jar that was on top of the cake stand is Anchor Hocking. It's translucent, the hobs are soft and flatter. It's actually a Biscuit jar and when the lid is missing people sell it as an ice bucket. It's the same as your A.H. vases in the other video. Enjoyed the video and learned a lot.
Beautiful pieces. I too collect milk glass, but not for the brand or anything like that, just because I like the pieces. I have many pieces with markings and many without. I just love them all. TFS. ana
Good evening from South Gate California. Great information. I'm barely starting my collection and the history is helpful when i find something. I just subscribed to your channel. Thank you i learned something new today.
I am collecting MILK GLASS. Your pieces are more unique than mine. However, I do have a few pieces similar to yours. Your pieces are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!
I agree. They are beautiful places. I have a few myself. My daughter unfortunately is not interested in any and of other collections I have. These kids are so missing out.
just an FYI. I grew up in Westmoreland County and lived there when the plant closed. It was actually the closing of all the steel mills that did in Westmoreland Glass. nice collection. I collected Fenton and Westmoreland for many many years and still have a couple of swung Bud vases.
Thank you so much for watching and leaving me a comment. These pieces are getting more and more difficult to find. It is an addiction lol but I guess it's okay for such a beautiful collection. Have an awesome day! Elaine
Thank you for mentioning that there are different colored glass that Fenton makes. I do have a couple pieces of colored glass. I may show that in my next video. Thank you for watching! Lorraine
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of milk glass. I too wish to collect however other then ebay very difficult to find in my neck of the woods. That being northwestern Canada. Plse keep sharing love too look at and hear about them.
Very informative video! I've been interested in milk glass for years but very hesitant because there is so much out there, scare of over paying. I do have a few pieces that I bought because I just love them but now I'm excited to search with the knowledge you have given me.
I have the beaded trim square Westmoreland just like yours with fruit and on the inside of the lid there is a marking AW. I also found 3 lamps for a stand up lamp that I converted. Also , 4 other table lamps
I have a black fenton bud vase bought in the 70s. Its marked. I have the ruby red hobnail basket without a handle thats marked. Have a small green vase from the 50s, not marked.
Hi Laura, thanks for your lovely comments. Lamps are really easy to find. I have several in each room. I need to quit buy lamps, but they are so adorable. Good luck on your milk glass finds. Lorraine
So sorry about the broken switch. I fix my lamps all the time. when I get a new one, I inspect the cord, bulb housing, etc, and replace it with parts from Lowe's. You don't want to start a fire with all the old fittings. Look there to see if they may have the part you need. Take the lamp with you, and ask for help. The guys at my Lowe's are always so helpful. Lorraine
Having searched through RUclips for Milk Glass videos... Yours is the most informative! What a wealth of information about patterns and manufacturers! I was looking for information about something I learned incorrectly decades ago; I was taught that "true Milk Glass' had a blue-ish transclucent nature when held to light, and 'false Milk Glass' does not. I'm thinking that may apply more to approximate dating of a piece, as it seems to me that newer pieces are generally more opaque. Would you say that is accurate? Thanks for the great information! Cheers ~ Dani
I have some very pretty milk tops for I am sure these beauties beling to a perfume but my husband n digger buddies never found certain ones to fit them
Thank you for watching! I need to stop! Lol. I'm not sure if the next generation will even want my collection, but I'm sure enjoying it! Happy hunting and enjoy what you collect! Elaine
I forgot to answer your question on where I find my pieces. I usually go to antique stores. They are a little more expensive, but most of them tend to have the markings of the maker on them, so that way I know that the piece is authentic. Now that I am familiar or knowledgeable about certain pieces, I tend to look everywhere. LOL Lorraine
You know your stuff! Would you be able to help me analyze an vintage Mickey Mouse milk glass mug? I have seen many of the one I have on ebay; however, there are NO MARKINGS on the bottom of my mug. All the other listings show Fire King/Anchor Hocking. Mine only has a faint scribble underneath that resembles the number 19. Are there any milk glass marks which look like the number 19?
Thank you for watching! I am not familiar with any of the Disney milk glass. If you can send me a picture of your cup, I will be happy to do some research on your item! Looking forward to seeing something new!
Westmoreland’s maker’s mark from the 40s thru the 80s is actually a W over a G.......for Westmoreland Glass. I thought it was a C , too. I looked it up, today.
Thank you for the video. I have a few of the hobnail, which I like. But, I also have several pieces of silvercrest which I really love. I received my first 2 pieces as wedding gifts almost 45 years ago. As it's become time to down size, I unfortunately have started to sell them. It's very hard to put a price on these pieces. You have a very lovely collection. BTW, have you found a good source to determine present values?
Thank you for watching and commenting. As far as pricing your pieces, I don't have a source for that. It just depends on what someone is willing to pay for a piece they are needing to complete their collection. Try looking in antique shops as a guide line. Hope this helps. Elaine
I have a milk glass Fenton lamp. Not a hurricane lamp. It has a globe top. I bought it new in the 1970s. Paid 35 dollars. I dont know what its worth. It has a marble base on it.
Michael Anon I would just look on line for your piece and see what they are selling for. My collection is basically for my enjoyment and history of the piece. Try looking for items you have in an antique store. That maybe a starting point for you.
maxandshoji < Thank you. What kind of value does this stuff have?? I am sure the pieces I have are not old or rare, so just basic value info, if you would? Thanks
I does seem like it is getting harder to find milk glass here too. The prices have really gone up since I first started to collect about 15 years ago. Keep watching ebay, for there are some great deals there, especially when you find a piece that has free shipping. Thank you so much for visiting my channel and for leaving a comment. Lorraine
Thank you for watching. Prices vary depending on where you purchase an piece such as yard sale, estate sale, thrift stores or antique store. I tend to shop at yard sales or thrift stores for the best price.
fenton hobnail is pointy other hobnail is rounded, fenton made afew lines of crested white glass emerald crest aqua crest ther're really nice and decorative, I thin there is a ruby crest, very pretty, I have a white punch bowl with cups, I started buying every punchbowl I saw theife told me to stop Ilove glassware but the bottom dropped out of the glass market and most of what I bought I lost money on pink and green depression lost value which i would have never expected. sh well such is life when you speculate with purchases it pays to want to keep what you buy.
I tend to use what I buy and not invest in something I tend to sell later. It seems that any thing antique is no longer desirable. Maybe in the future the trend will cycle around. TFW
Jewel Graham I totally agree with you. The next generation is not interested and milk glass is no longer desirable. Kinda sad but I still enjoy using and have these pieces. I always say enjoy what you like.

What does it look like?
Hi, where would I go to get an appraisal on this milk glass I have inherited??
Michael Anon
I would just look on line for your piece and see what they are selling for.
Thanks
Oh, is it Max or Elaine?? I see ur referred to both ways..
Michael Anon
You can but it might cost more for the appraisal than the items are worth. If funds are available take your best pieces
maxandshoji < Thanks for your time and info Max/Elaine/Lorraine. Lol 😆
