    Performance video of track "Point of View Redux" (same version as on record)
    Video by: Yasunari Rowan
    Eldar Djangirov (piano)
    Armando Gola (bass)
    Ludwig Afonso (drums)
    featuring guest appearances by:
    Chris Potter (sax)
    Joe Locke (vibraphone)
    This performance precisely matches the first track from the new upcoming album BREAKTHROUGH -- available on April 9, 2013. It's entitled "Point of View Redux." Personnel is Eldar Djangirov (yours truly) on piano, Armando Gola on bass, and Ludwig Afonso on drums. Recorded at Avatar Studios in New York City. I recorded this song originally in 2005 w/ Michael Brecker. After his unfortunate passing, I decided to re-record and revamp some of the motifs from that version and bring it into a new light. Thus, we have this redux. A bit of a tribute to him. What you are hearing is exactly the first complete track from the album BREAKTHROUGH. Check out and buy the record -- and if you don't like it, give it or pass the link to somebody you don't like : )... Hope you enjoy listening to the music as much as I enjoyed making the music, experiencing it, living it, breathing it, refining it, watching it, and giving it to you for enjoyment. I hope this uplifts your soul and makes your day better. I hope you feel inspired like you can overcome anything now -- that's the message in this music: to inspire, to motivate, and to bring joy to your day. Words cannot describe my gratitude and appreciation for the people who have given me support. I'm fulfilled to deliver you a musical experience that I'm proud of. Best from, Eldar.

    I will not repeat the mistake of missing Eldar's next concert in the New York area. Just an amazing and infecting talent. Aside from the virtuosity, the intellect, the taste, and the technique, listening to him play just makes me extremely happy.

  • @jorgestramusic
    @jorgestramusic 6 месяцев назад +1

    Eldar is such a serious player/composer, prodigious is un understatement, real music of the XXIst century, all three guys unassuming, dedicated to their art, performed with ease, flawlessly (like they're not really playing at the top of their game, they can go further still!) I love the comments here and people surprised how this hasn't got viral, sorry to say but this is not for everybody, thankfully, in fact, let's keep this to ourselves, people tend to ruin everything...This is inmaculate, beyond any analisis, we are in the presence of one of the best pianists ever to roam the earth, and the ones that say that he is nice and kind... well more to him... I hope I get to live at least another 20 or 25 years more so I can bask of Eldar the mature, the wise.

    Eldar is in a league of his own! I am not rich but, in 2007 (when he was about 19) I bought a ticket from Puerto Rico to Miami to go and see him play in Arturos Sandoval's night club, with the added bonus of seeing Arturo play with him the last night. I watched 4 shows and it was worth every penny! Not doing that was for me like living in Mozart's time and not doing what you could to go and see him play. I'm so glad I had that wonderful experience.

    This is outrageously good playing. I've got some of your other stuff Eldar, and whereas the older music was great, this is even better to my ears! I should warn you though, in case you didn't know -- the George Adams/Don Pullen Quartet put out an album back in the '80's called "Breakthrough," which also contained a lot of great jazz. There is one song on there in particular, "Mr. Smoothie" that I love. Sadly, George Adams, (tenor sax) died not all that long after the album came out, if memory serves. There's a weird kind of symmetry with your album and Mike Brecker's death -- I guess both jazzmen "broke through" to wherever great jazz musicians go when they die.(?)
