I had been dithering about getting this one for a very long time and finally took the plunge after I saw it in one of your videos a while back. It's become not only my EDC pen, but the pen I reach for above all others if I'm somewhere I can't/don't want to use fountain pens. It's definitely not for everyone, but I find heavy pens much easier to write with - more so if they're backweighted (I realize this makes me a distinct minority but my hands are *super* weird so I'm used to that!) So as someone who does really love this one, thanks for taking the time to review it, cause I probably wouldn't have bought it otherwise.
This is my go to pen when it comes to rollerball pens. I love how it writes and how it looks. I also tend to like heavier pens so and have big hands so it's a very comfortable hold for me.
As popular as these pens are, I just don't like them very much for many of the same reasons you pointed out. The pen is indeed quite back heavy and the way the pen tapers toward the tip, makes it difficult to hold comfortably, especially for those who grip their pen very low on the barrel. They look a lot better than they perform in my opinion.
Good gosh people. Monte Blanc's plastic roller balls are over $500 now. How can anyone take time to complain about a $25.00 pen. Why am I even taking time to respond to this complaint?
Is there a gel refill option for this pen? Even if it needs a mod.... i just haven’t been lucky with the Schmidt’s, skips are incredibly annoying specially for a fountain pen user like me. If one could hack this with a gel refill it would be awesome!
Nice pen, but I dislike twist pens. The pens that use the entire pen cap (no button) as the retract mechanism - what type of pen is that called? Those are my favorite. Some of the Parker Vectors have the retract cap/click-top caps.

One of the most important (and relevant) aspects of a review of a writing utensil is "how does it write? "

if you dont want it.... you can send it to me.... I love these pens!!!
Never been a huge fan of the pen; however, this full black one looks great!
It is absolutely worth the price. Very comfortable writer.
I love mine. Wish I got the triple black though! First thing I did was switch to the ball point refills.
I got the set with the mechanical pencil and pen. I'm happy I got this set in all black.
25Hz to Life - good buy! Where’d you’d get the set?

I'm used to the twist mechanism because I have a lot of cross pens.

Who complained? (Besides you)

Love these, my pen snob grandpa has given me 5 in my life. Only nice pens I ave love em
I'm going to pick up one of these now because this was a good review

Oh yea like the cap o matic. Not sure the name for that
I got two of the bronze ones and they are nice but I like my bolt action pens better
I found a retro fiftyone case with a blue pen with two gold stripes is this different? It doesnt say tornado
Einstein edition is my favorite got the Pen and pencil set best decision I made
Could you do a review on the retro 51 tornado slim?
“Retro” old style of retract and extend.
I don't like them. Ruined one of my work shirts.
is it top heavy
Yes
You didn’t show us how it writes, man! 😑
Retro mech pencils are garbage. I have three and two are unusable. Sorry this is a pen but i would never buy it based on the pencil.
The lower part of the barrel is plastic??? Thats the most important part of the pen, the part that will crack first. Not worth 25
The tip is brass
