Ever wonder how the body processes processed foods? When corn becomes Cheetos or wheat becomes Twinkies, for example, or water becomes Coca Cola? How does the body react, what are the health consequences, and who is responsible for any negative effects? These are but some of the questions that occupy our guest, Dr Carlos Monteiro.

There are some healthy Ultra-Processed foods. Why lump all of them together in "group 4" which is labeled "avoid these foods"?

There is processed and then there is ultra processed. There is a difference. Ultra processed is what we all should avoid. There are zero healthy ultra processed foods.

Ultra-processed foods are not healthy in any way, shape, or form. They all have veg oil and garbage, it is much cheaper to eat healthy foods. People think it is more expensive, but you have to buy much less because you eat much less!
