- This is a note for note solo cover of John Mayer's "Last Train Home (Ballad Version)". Apparently this performance was the first take the band played. I can assure you this was not my first take!
There are some really cool licks in this solo that are worth stealing and adding to your bag. Enjoy!

One of my favourite solos of all time.
Yea, this one hits in all the right ways. Thanks for watching!
Absolute amazing playing and tone.
Thanks Omar! Much appreciated.
The only accurate fucking cover. For over a year and a half I was looking for one where someone got it right, and then I gave up July 2022. I now find this, and holy fuck man. Finally.
Thank you so much
You are so welcome! Thanks for the awesome comment. Glad you enjoyed it
Why don't you transcribe it yourself?
@@jensclarberg6419 if everybody transcribed by themselves then there would be no tutorials or tabs on any surface of the internet.
@@NWStuff-yl5jm and people would be way better musicians
@@jensclarberg6419 Never disagreed, but I don't strive to be the best, or even MY best. I just enjoy playing the songs I like.

Very nice 👌
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Steve ... most authentic version I have heard yet .. totally nailed the tone .... Is there a way we can get the tab .. love to learn this
How long does it take to learn this? 😳
Wow amazing ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Your tone though 🔥🔥🔥. Really great work and musicianship. Loved every moment. 👍🏿
If you don't mind me asking, what gear are you using please?
Really appreciate the comment!
I'm just using the PRS Silversky SE into my MacBook via an Audient iD4. I'm was using the stock GarageBand amp sims. This one is probably the Fender Blackpanel model. I'm currently using the ToneKing Imperial MKII DSP plugin and am enjoying that much more than the GarageBand sims. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your very generous reply. 👍🏿🤝
@@stevecarereguitarthink you could share your preset? I’m also using the tone king
2 min of playing take at least 1100 days to achieve the require skill.... Awsome playing
hi, well done :) have you got a tab for it in pdf or all pieces collated ? ;d thanks
Nice
Thanks for checking it out Ethan
How long do you think it would take for me to learn this if I never played guitar
Oh man, tough question! Depends how much you are practicing and if this is the only thing you play. You could probably get the notes under your fingers relatively quickly. But to get it to sound smooth and natural it would probably take some years. And even more years to know why the notes he is playing work with the chords that are behind him.
@@stevecarereguitar Yeah thats a good answer. I would guess to play relatively smoothly it would take you around 2-3 years of consistent practice (couple hours a day), but there is no exact way of knowing.
great playing man looks fairly easy till you try and play it RESPECT
Thanks! It does take a bit to get it under the fingers.
what pedals u use?
No pedals, just the Tone King plugin. Thanks for watching!
@@stevecarereguitarcan you help guide me to the right place on how to use this tone king plugin? Or what it is or where to get it? Ive never heard of that. I have a spark positive grid and can get extremely close to this tone but theres just something missing.
woudl you mind sharing teh spark settings?
