What I've noticed with wind intsturments is its much shaper when you use the tu/tut sound with your mouth
and or use your tounge idk I don't really remember

Re. getting a nice tone on a wind instruments it is all about breath control ... blowing a steady tone takes some practice ... sry.
Also, it sounds better when there's a noticeable attack on each node. No tongue and no pushing the air.
