Every time someone from the cabinet talks up Britain I for one along with ALL MY CUSTOMERS don't believe a word . Consequently I am shrinking my business to reduce costs how mad is that. It is not worth growing a business in Britain only to have your hard work go up in death duties. 🇬🇧

This is all about the high taxes, and peoples expectations that they will go up further. At a point taxes and energy prices are so high that it breaks a lot of businesses and activity. This line Labour seems to have crossed too far now.

@Barbara-e3b Nonsense, when the last Labour govt left office in 2010 the uk economy was growing at 2.7% which the tories never matched 2010 to 2024.
The tories were handed a growing economy in 2010 but Camerons idea of shrinking the state, shrunk public services and the economy instead and after 14 yrs of stagnation they handed over a basket case in July 2024.
TalkTV presenters don't seem to understand the difference between the patch-up-and-make-do policies we had under 14 years of the tories and the long-term investment for the future (which Labour are aiming for).

What long term investment? One runway that won’t be used in this decade?
The Tories were/are useless and I suspect that Labour will be the same unless they ditch net zero and start exploiting our natural resources. I don’t think that you can afford both growth and net zero simultaneously. It could also mean in the short term zero increases on the nhs and welfare both of which Labour won’t be able to deliver.
