Meru County's political differences displayed in the Senate cohesion committee as the executive openly differed with the County Service Board and the Assembly Deputy Speaker. The Deputy Speaker told the Senator Mohammed Chute-led committee that they would not sit with the impeached governor when the committee proposed to hold a reconciliation meeting in Meru to resolve the issue of employment. The Committee sat despite a protest letter from Meru senator Kathuri Murungi written in the capacity of the liaison committee chair advising them to postpone the invites
