I have owned the zfold 2,3,4,5 just used the z fold 6 the crease feels much less noticeable when running your finger across it, I have already pre ordered it before seeing it today. But very happy with the changes much lighter in hand, love the square edges can't wait to see how much brighter outdoors.
I have the Fold 5, love it. Its all about what you want in your phone. Crease is irrelevant, the screen is awesome, wont upgrade not enough changes made and Im happy with what I have.
I must admit, I am quite fond of the navy blue color. 👍 The squared-off edges are also to my liking. 👍 I can envision myself utilizing the Fold 6 for an extended period of time. 👍
I have Fold 3 since 2021. Samsung offering $900 for my trade in with free 512gb upgrade. Case with the pen is decent $50. I paid $1k for my Fold 3 after my carrier bill credits of $30 a month for 3 years. So basically I paid $1k and Samsung bought it back for $900 after 3 years. Makes paying $950 for $2020 device doable. I'm going to get rid of my expensive plan now that I own the phone outright from day one and try one of the budget carriers who have the pay up front for the whole year that are part of the bigger carriers. The plan I'm looking at brings my monthly bill down for $110 for one phone and smartwatch phone service to $31 total with 50GB of priority 4G and 5G with free smartwatch phone service. Samsung offer monthly insurance for $14 while most carriers have upped it to $17 and up. Time to start cutting costs while upgrading hardware. Win win.
i also went to best buy and checked it out. the squared off sides are very nice. i still think the pixel fold has a more satisfying open/close feel, though. and the zfold still doesn't fold fully flat and there is a noticeable gap when folded between the area closest to the hinge. the WEIGHT of the device though is so much lighter feeling than the pixel fold that i hope google makes the fold 2 (or whatever they're gonna name it) a lot lighter.
I traded in a Fold 4 for a Oneplus Open. Besides the OnePlus Open, I also own a Flip 5 and a Oneplus 12 (yes I have 3 phones lol). I think the OnePlus Open is miles ahead of the Samsung Fold. Also, not sure why this is, but my audio headsets (Bose QC Ultra, B&W Px8, and Sennheiser Momentum sound better when using the OnePlus over the Samsung.
You deserve more subs so Samsung and other manufacturers send you review units. I like your dedication in the Fold market. The Samsung software experience is still unmatched. The seperate homescreens are so important for me. The narrow outer display is the only downside. And maybe a better zoom and Wide angle camera. All the other photos are looking georgious. I'm getting compliments for the beautiful photos all the time. But when I see the unfolded Pixel and other Folding phones I really realise how much I hate those double screens. The inner screen should be used as one big square screen and not 2 outer screens next to each other. And the stylus support is a big win. Nothing beats some doomscrolling with a pen in the hand or making some doodles with the S-pen
I had been waiting for the fold 6 announcement before I bought my first foldable, and after trying it in a store, I went with the OPO. The front screen size, cost, cameras, and interior crease are what sold me. Will miss the Samsung software and wireless charging, but I'm still not sure if I'll keep the OPO or go back to an 24 ultra. Your OPO videos sold me!
I did the same in a bestbuy. Compared my Oneplus Open cover display vs Z Fold 6 and still considerably narrower than Oneplus Open. Samsung still behind all other foldables.
They are only behind in form factor. I do feel like they do have the better software amongst the foldables. Which at this point makes up the difference in form factor
As a foldable user, having the oneplus open and zf5, I almost never use the cover display for more than 2 mins. It’s always that main display. Don’t care for a slab experience on a foldable. Maybe it’s me.
Have you experience the Pixel Fold yet? That's what I have and I don't open up my phone unless I know I need to do more than just something quick and simple. The Pixel Fold has a height advantage in that you could easily reach most of the phone with one hand depending on how big your hands are. I think if I had the Z Fold 5 I would be wanting to use it open all the time too due to how narrow it is. I know the one plus open might be wider by a lot but I don't know much about it. I would be using the front more often if anything and only opening it up if I'm multitasking or so.
If you trade in your device they give you a really good discount. After holding the z fold 6 I realize how much that form factor needs to stay coming from an s24 ultra.
Just one more thing I'd like to add and I apologize I'm not trying to hijack your video! 🙌 New sub by the way, I really like your content, you're killing it! 🔥 But somebody made a valid point about having both the Pixel Fold and the Galaxy Fold. 🤔 They said they never even unfolded the Pixel, they rarely felt the need to. But with the Galaxy, when they used it for 2 weeks, it drove them to use the inside screen more. 🤔 For some reason, I feel like that's a pro if you can get it to a point. Where It's just big enough that it's not annoying, but not too big that you never use its main feature. 🤔 I thought it was Just a very interesting perspective!

I understand the crease not being there when it's on and you're looking straight at it. The problem for me was it often catching light. For example I used to use a OnePlus 7pro and the curved screen always caught light. When I went to a flat screen I realized how often I previously maneuvered my phone compared to a flat one. Same thing happened going from the fold to open. If everyone else can reduce the crease it makes it an unnecessary problem.
I personally don't want a phone as big as a S24 ultra in my pocket. I love the narrow form factor of the fold for that purpose exactly. Its literally the best of both worlds. People insist on having defeating the purpose this phone was made. If people want the size of the 24 ultra.... Then buy the S24 ultra
I got to check one out at Best Buy today and wow i LOVED it. I really liked the outter display size. I have the S24U. Thought i would get use to the size but its just too big unless you have gigantic hands. I'm going to get the Z Fold 6!
I noticed a difference from my ZFold 5 with the crease, The smaller hinge makes way bigger of a difference than I thought it did. Idc about the crease, but I noticed a clear difference. Could just be that one is fresh and I've had my fold 5 for a while

I literally just got home from Best Buy checking out the Zfold 6. And in my experience while the crease is on the 6 is as visible as it is on the 5 it's not as tactile. You can feel it a little bit more than the OnePlus Open but less than the Zfold 5
It’s the same except for a couple of refinement. It’s a solid device. If you NEED a phone it’s a solid choice. If you a tech nerd. Probably not. I got it. Hopefully we get early delivery
Something I'm really interested to know, that nobody has mentioned yet - how does the crease _feel?_ It IS smaller. Visually, it's hard to tell that, but visually the crease never really bothered me. Feeling the crease while scrolling, though, while not a big deal, _does_ bother me. Anyway, very happy with what I've seen so far. It doesn't change any of the things I like about the Z Fold (a worry I had because a vocal chunk of people keep begging for it to be wider), but does improve several things I felt were problems with my 4.
The weight is noticeable vs my fold 4. Same with thickness. Chunky still but lighter and thinner feels like a nicely refined upgrade. But tbh if i had a fold 5 id probably wait to see if fold ultra coming to NA

Tried 2 different BestBuy's + T-Mobile but they only had the Flip 6 on display. Despite the great pre-order savings, I don't think it's worth the price and better to wait what Google will do. Currently OnePlus Open at Amazon is $1400. Second if you look at the recent Honor Magic v3 and upcoming Xiaomi Fold 4, they make the Fold 6 look old: thinner, lighter and better camera specs again. Likely we'll see similar improvements into the next OnePlus 2.

Literally went to best buy today to see what i was getting myself into with my pink fold 6. Visually? Kind of? Feeling wise? The crease is a good bit better than the fold 5 astoundingly so. not OPO good but far better than i expected. The feeling of the device in general? Yeah...i feel like its the sleeper foldable that folks wont appreciate until they have it. Guess ill wait until it gets here and see but the fold 6 display unit proved me wrong today.
the Z fold 6 to me seems...lackluster. Given the price bump and no real new features that i can find useful... i dont see why people would upgrade. Maybe if its their first foldable, but im more excited for the Pixel 9 pro fold!
I don't have a folding device but i do own an s21 pixel 8 and a few Chinese budget devices Watching this video made me realize that it's not small phones I prefer but a less wide screen is what i prefer Maybe I'll grab a Sony for my first 1k plus phone?

I am so wanting to jump on the folding phone market just not if the front screen is enough went into local store today but couldn’t actually use front screen as it was clamped down hard to support a company that doesn’t charge anything which a new phone
The black camera covers make it look like a cheap Motorola phone. Id still buy it but I'll end up sticking with my z fold 4, the trade in wasn't really helpful
This top end phones like the ultra and plus phones are big ans its noc ethey are big for like media consumption and note taking like on the ultra. But damn are the phones big. I have a s23 ultra and a pixel 6a. The pixel 6a is so nice to hold and use in comparison to the big ultra. The z rold 6 is yoing to solve everytbing i have about the pixel and about the s23 ultra. A slim phone that becomes a mini tablet.
I've been following the trade in promo from z fold 4 to 6, AI fiture kinda gimmicky for me. Just need a better design, maybe camera improvement and the aspect ratio of the fold itself. If samsung keep slappinng AI and called it a day for the next fold, I'll skipping them eventually. or just entirely stop upgrading phone since there's no significant performance upgrade / hardware upgrade anyway.
Not there yet. Last one I had was the Fold 4 and not gonna get another one until they stop being stubborn and make that outer display a reasonable width. Sadly won't even try the other Foldables from Google or Oneplus mainly due to the fact that Samsung is the only one who allows the outside and inside home screen setups to be completely different from each other. If Google did that, I'd get the Pixel Fold.
Shane, any plan to review Chinese foldables? They have some banger foldables. We don't have many options here apart from Scamsung, Google or Oneplus. I love my oneplus open and really curious how good non oneplus foldables like Vivo Fold X3 pro/ Mate X are.
It's definitely something that I would like to do, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that there's just way less profitability there for coverage. I'm not going to be able to have affiliate links to help pay for the device and videos covering Chinese phones have to get about double the views to earn the same amount of revenue as a Samsung or Pixel video.

The only downside to using Oppo is their customer service. It is absolutely HORRID.

Jumping from the 4 to the 6. The hand feel, frpnt cover, and battery life all all reasons i pulled the trigger (and samsungs trade in value)
bought the pixel fold because of it's form and because it is "cheap". hope they will support it as long as possible

Im trying my hardest to skip the Fold 6 and save my S24 ultra for the S25 Ultra or Z Fold 7
I am so wanting to jump on the folding phone market just not if the front screen is enough went into local store today but couldn’t actually use front screen as it was clamped down hard to support a company that doesn’t charge anything which a new phone
The black camera covers make it look like a cheap Motorola phone. Id still buy it but I'll end up sticking with my z fold 4, the trade in wasn't really helpful
But the fold 6 looks sleeker and premium.
This top end phones like the ultra and plus phones are big ans its noc ethey are big for like media consumption and note taking like on the ultra. But damn are the phones big. I have a s23 ultra and a pixel 6a. The pixel 6a is so nice to hold and use in comparison to the big ultra. The z rold 6 is yoing to solve everytbing i have about the pixel and about the s23 ultra. A slim phone that becomes a mini tablet.

I've been following the trade in promo from z fold 4 to 6, AI fiture kinda gimmicky for me.
Just need a better design, maybe camera improvement and the aspect ratio of the fold itself. If samsung keep slappinng AI and called it a day for the next fold, I'll skipping them eventually. or just entirely stop upgrading phone since there's no significant performance upgrade / hardware upgrade anyway.

If you like the One Plus Open you might like the GPF2... Wish they would have stayed with the GPF1 design.😢

Not there yet. Last one I had was the Fold 4 and not gonna get another one until they stop being stubborn and make that outer display a reasonable width. Sadly won't even try the other Foldables from Google or Oneplus mainly due to the fact that Samsung is the only one who allows the outside and inside home screen setups to be completely different from each other. If Google did that, I'd get the Pixel Fold.

No, the Pixel Fold does not have the same camera as the Pro Pixels.
The new Pixel 9 pro fold will have the same flagship cameras as the other pro models.

Shane, any plan to review Chinese foldables? They have some banger foldables. We don't have many options here apart from Scamsung, Google or Oneplus. I love my oneplus open and really curious how good non oneplus foldables like Vivo Fold X3 pro/ Mate X are.
It's definitely something that I would like to do, but the unfortunate fact of the matter is that there's just way less profitability there for coverage. I'm not going to be able to have affiliate links to help pay for the device and videos covering Chinese phones have to get about double the views to earn the same amount of revenue as a Samsung or Pixel video.
@@scaryifliteral That makes a lot of sense. I think other reviewers like Flossy Carter have admitted that they straight up buy the phones flat out from Giztop and that's how he does them. However, I think Flossy is rich cause aside from phones the car that dude drives is pretty damn gucci lol.
