Yep, Blade & Bastard, met all my expectations. I actually bought Wizardry-I remake a short while before i started, so it was nice to have a good story based on it. I could see all the references and plot points from the game.

Basically Iarumas tried to beat the original and failed, and many years later he wakes up in this new town in what is essentially the remake using old tricks he learned. They're also times in the novel his info is either wrong or inaccurate... That's due to the changes made between games.

can you check out Magus of the Library/Toshokan No Daimajutsushi? It's without a doubt one of the best fantasy manga that I've ever read, and it has absolutely everything. Breathtaking art, extraordinary worldbuilding, good pacing, a well written plot, and three dimensional characters that are actually complex and interesting. It gave me the same sense of wisdom and immersion that I felt when I was reading through Sousou no Frieren.
For the record: Gobbo Slayer Brand New Day is not a spin off. It's based from the stories told in Volume 4 of the Light Novel, which takes place after Volume 2 but before Volume 3 starts. They're part of the main story, but it's true that for some reason the manga adaptation decided to split it in another manga. There's also another one coming up in English named "Goblin Slayer: Day in the Life" which is pretty much the same situation as Brand New Day but this one adapts the events told in Volume 12, which do takes place in present time (as in after volume 11 but before volume 13 of the Light Novel) Also the Wizardry Light Novel is peak.

It's funny cause as far as the Light Novel is concerned it seems pretty useful and is mentioned in passing a lot....... ....... but yes pretty much like DnD, if you only fight evil enemies, and you're very much aware that some of your guys are evil themselves it serves no purpose.
