'Shall I go west to riverrun to see father or east to the Vale to see Lysa'
She had already decided to ignore Neds command to go to winterfell and order the northern Lords to prepare for war.
He wanted 2 houses to send 100 archers each to moat cailin,
For house Reed to send scouts around the neck,
For house mandery to reinforce all defences and build a fleet

  • @Aaron_Guest

Yep, the amount of poor armor that the Lannisters got in the war was insane.
Lysa was somehow able to control the Valemen and keep them out of the war when they didn't know her, (she was in King's Landing during the entirety of Robert's reign) and she somehow wasn't replaced with a strong lord like Yohn Royce regent by the Valemen.
Renly does the strategic error of trying to take the Iron Throne instead of following the succession and supporting his elder brother, and then getting assassinated when he made another mistake of going to try to stop Stannis, the smaller threat at Storm's End when it wasn't important at all.
Baelish, then being able to get the Tyrells on their side. When the Lannisters were clearly losing, there was still much risk going with them.
Balon somehow decides to decide to attack the North like a fool when the Lannisters were the much more appealing target while the North was their only clear ally, along with him somehow managing to not have a single bannerman refuse due to his complete failure last time.
Edmure disobeys his orders and foils the plan that Robb had to destroy Tywin's army in the Westerlands. Along with it delaying Tywin long enough for messengers to arrive and let Tywin know about alliance with the Tyrells, and that Stannis was now marching on King's Landing. (Before Tywin thought Renly was still alive)
Stannis gets stopped by Lannister/Tyrell army right when he's about to win the battle.
Theon betrays Robb, his best friend and brother, in all except blood, causing the link of events that causes Robb's downfall: him breaking his marriage pact with the Freys causing them to leave, Cat letting Jaime go when he wasn't trustworthy, losing him a valuable prisoner, and causing Rickard Karstark to commit treason multiple times over by first sending all his men away, before he murdered guards of the King's mother's family, and murdering hostages causing Robb to execute him, and eventually the Red Wedding.
The Freys and Boltons being dumb enough to agree with the Red Wedding, along with none of the kinsmen, bannermen, or troops letting slip that the Red Wedding would happen. (There is no way that their soldiers, kin, and/or vassals wouldn't have saw a great opportunity to get rewarded for their loyalty, especially not the Freys who are all pretty much described as ruthless and ambitious.)
    Along with plenty more.

I don’t think so. Some people, families, organizations etc. win by pure luck all the time. Also Tywin was never this genius strategist his fans claim he to be. He never won a war or did anything great. All he did was waiting in the background and watching his enemies fight eachother and he would ally himself with the wining party. A young Robb stark humiliated Tywin and show what an idiot he really is. Tywin was lucky most of the time until he wasn’t.
