alway tons of very helpful information! I just bought the Controller 69 Pro and so far I love it! I set my duration for 20 mins. Now the little ladies can rise up slowly and drift off at night in a more natural environment! Also I should mention that I called AC Customer Support and the agent was able to confirm that my Controller 69 Pro was deflective. The AC Agent overnighted my a new controller! and in less than 24 hours I had a new one in my hands!!
I like the idea, wish all lights has this option or easier way to mimic. Also funny to mimic sunrise and then set your lights for 16, or 18+ hours, pretty much nowhere on earth gets that much daylight.
Absolutely hilarious.. I was just saying to someone just the other week that i wondered if there was a system like this available to mimic real sunrise/set.. lol.. To funny!
California Light Works has been doing this for a looooong time… if you got it use it… it definitely hasn’t hurt anything for damn sure… as long as your plants are receiving their DLI.. ( daily light integral)…It’s a cool feature on these types of controllers … the delayed ramp up of the lights in the morning gives me time to apply foliage sprays …before blasting 1000 PPFD to the plants! 😮 This is just scratching the surface of what these spectrum/controllers do although.. but if a grower chooses to have his hands on everything and or is still using old fashioned timers.. you do you.. no problem here at all…
If the temperature delta from night and day is lower than 4°C you should use 30 minutes. If it's more than 4°C you should use 60 minutes. (Martin Anker - CEO of Sanlight) What I noticed with the C69Pro is that it only applies the dimming setting from the sunrise/sunset programming on the full minute. The result is an uneven curve sometimes. To fix this, simply make your number of minutes dividable by your max. light setting. For example when changing your light from [6] to [8] change your sunrise/sunset from [30] to [32] minutes. This will smooth out the curve.
sick thank you for explaining this so easily! getting my viaparspectra xs1500pros set up with a type a dimmer later today and want to sunset to help take advantage of the daily heat up and cool down as well as power usage. I start sunsetting at 9am to Noon then off from12-6pm then sun rise 6pm to 9pm. that hits the middle of the off cycle to 3pm the hottest part of the day and I dont hit peak power usage until 9pm the cheapest power time of the day is 9pm-9am.
I made the mistake of setting it for an hour and 10 min. Slow rise. I realized I was losing DLI stretching it that long. But I didn't want to mess things up so I left it like that. The Evo 6 has so much PPFD efficiency. I am harvesting any day with great results still. Daylight savings time should auto adjust though. Next topic??
Very good point. I just used 6 minutes to show that the light will turn on and off incrementally as time passes and did not feel like sitting by my tent/phone for 1-2 hours and trying to upload a file that big lol
Check out my other video that breaks down the whole controller here!

According to Dr. Bruce Bugsby plants don’t need to time to “wake up”. They can start metabolizing immediately.
Thanks for the info, I’m still learning and will follow Dr. Bugsby!
But their transpiration rates change from light to dark and dark to light.

Thats not a bad idea!
What’s the point for 6 minutes? That is nothing. Realistic is 60-120 minutes.

It it only on the pro ?
