      @@leftbraincgart Yes. I had to constantly pause. Some of us have a hard time with key commands, they are very difficult to remember. You just rattle them off as if everyone already has them memorized and for some odd reason actually think key commands are an easier way to do things. Some of us are not like that, we have a tough time with key commands, they do not make intuitive sense to people like me. Not to mention carpal problems (caused by using key commands) make it difficult to hit keys on the keyboard accurately.
      On top of all that, Blender does not o much in the application to give good hints as to what the key commands are, so If I miss something, I have to back up the video and slow own, because I can not find the corresponding operation in the GUI, because all you did was rattle off a key command with no mention of how to do it without a key command.
      Why is is ALWAYS about the friggin key commands!!!! You Blender people just LOOOOOOOVVVVEEEE your key commands.
      I HATE blender's key commands!
      Other than that, it would be an awesome program, but because of the key commands, I have never been able to get over the learning hump for Blender. :(

    • @leftbraincgart
      @leftbraincgart  3 месяца назад

      There's two major culprits I would check if you're running into shading issues.
      The first is for doubled up vertices. At 24:04, I go over how in edit mode, you can select all the vertices and merge by distance to get rid of any overlapping duplicated vertices.
      The second thing to check for are your normal orientations, which I go over at 32:47. In edit mode, you can try selecting your wardrobe and recalculate all the normals to face outside.

I am glad to say that this tutorial gave me extreme familiarity with Blender, which I needed as a beginner. I have this issue, after rendering the project it doesn't look the same. Everything is kind of dissolved i guess, and something bad is happening with a floor. When I delete denosing it's really noisy so that's also bad. Also I don't seem to see integrator settings and render, viewport. I don't know if that's what might caussing the issue. I looked it up and the advise was to change Cycles Render Devices to CUDA and I did. And I checked if my graphics card is supported (it is). But integrator is still missing. I looked in other tabs too, it's not there. Anyways, I really enjoyed following this tutorial and it was my first time in blender ever, so thank you for creating it!

I would recommend just breaking for a second after each tool selection to give followers the chance to find and select the right tool, even if it's by hotkey, since it helps them to remember what they're actually using and why.

    • @leftbraincgart
      @leftbraincgart  Месяц назад

In edit mode, you can try selecting everything and recalculate all the normals to face outside.

    Do i learn donut before doing this ?

    • @leftbraincgart
      @leftbraincgart  2 года назад

      It might help to know the basics of how Blender works before attempting this tutorial as some parts go fairly quick. In that sense, the donut tutorial would be a good place to start. Other people seem to have had success diving straight into this though, so it really just depends on your learning style.

    GREAT TUTORIAL! but bro if its a beginner tutorial pls just make mess intructions per second

  • @howdographicdesignerslaugh1573

    Explained too fast without little introduction to basic commands. Also, the pillows are kinda sketchy, try not getting too many triangles, it'll be bad for your render.

    For some reason when I get to the 4:05 part, my floors don't look like that. They have some weird black bars on the shading rather than the crevices on the floorboard. Not sure what's causing it

      Hey, I'm super sorry for the late response! Hopefully you've managed to solve the issue by now, but if not, there's two common issues that come to mind based on your description.
      First, I would check for extra vertices that may have been created when extruding the floorboards. To do this, select your floor in Object Mode and switch to Edit Mode. With Vertex Select enabled, hit A to select all the vertices, then M to bring up the merge menu, and choose "By Distance". There'll be a little pop up at the bottom of your screen telling you how many duplicate vertices were removed. If you need a visual example of this, jump to 23:57 in the video to see me do this.
      If that didn't work, the next thing I would check are your face orientations (aka normals). I go over how to do this step by step at 32:47 and how to fix incorrect faces.
      If that still doesn't work, take a screenshot and throw it up on imgur.com/ so I can have a visual of the issue.
      I hope this helps and I apologize again for the late reply.

      @@leftbraincgart Oh no you're totally fine! I appreciate the fact that you still respond to comments anyways. I was able to figure it out and I'm now working on the bed portion.
      Thanks again for this tutorial! It's really useful for a newbie like me! Would love to see more!

    • @leftbraincgart
      @leftbraincgart  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad to hear that you were able to sort it out. If you still remember and don't mind sharing, could you let me know what the issue was and how you solved it? That way I can be more mindful about problems that people potentially run into and can give better warnings in the future. If you can't remember or don't feel like typing it all out, no biggie; I'm just happy to hear that you haven't given up on the project.
      And I definitely have more projects/tutorials in the works, I'm just a little slow at making them. Some are more intermediate focused, but there'll be more beginner oriented ones to come, don't you worry.

I have more. when I bevel even with out the normals done it only goes up the top and not down the sides. After the bed part things started to get complicated for me hahahaha! I'm a real begginer in Blender. I am following along and I don't know why I can't put the Bevel modifier on the window, even doing again without coping the modifier and it is still have sharp edges >.

    • @leftbraincgart
      @leftbraincgart  2 года назад

      It's tough to say without seeing your actual project since there's a number things that could cause that issue, but the first thing I would check is that you're adding the modifier to the window object and not the boolean object you used to cut the hole in the wall.
      If the modifier is being added correctly, I'd check that the visibility of the modifier wasn't accidentally disabled. There's a little icon that looks like a monitor on the modifier (it's in between the square and the camera icon) that toggles the modifier visibility in the viewport.
