So basically, a 'raag' will always consist of the 'master' singer showcasing his years of practice and expertise by displaying the vocal range and control of scales in multiple octaves. In this, he is merely going over 'Do re mi...'. It's incredible to hear his singing !

This kind of music is known as classical music, and "raag" is non verbal just vocal expressional music, soul of classical music, and if u really wanna enjoy it, just sit back close your eyes and feel the rythym, listener will be so submerged into this feeling and this music will disconnect listener from its surroundings, thats the reason such songs are usually half hour long or more,
Second Rahet fateh ali khan was student of Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, also his nephew too, you can see younger Rahet Fateh in old videos of Nusrat Fateh khan,
Again you will feel true essence of classical music when u listen it in relax queit mood with close eyes

Basically what you just heard weren't some random sounds. In subcontinental music there aur 7 surr(notes) named Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da Ne Sa. So what does is moving through those notes at such a quick pace. This showcases his breath control and vocal range. He's such a legend that he sings between the beats sitting on the floor driving all the power through the chest.
