had a. '02 red, for about 15 yrs, loved it, she crossed 225k miles, decided to sell her. no problems kept her maintained, had her since she had 67k. miss that lil car more than any car ive ever had for day to day..mine never leaked.. person that bought it 4 yrs ago still has it and always big smiles, he takes care of her too
Upper crankcase gasket should be replaced. Pull the intake and file the throttle body boss and the iac boss. Last 3 svts I've worked on had warped intakes. Replace the intake to cylinder head gaskets in addition to new throttle body and iac gaskets. All available on rockauto. Good luck. I have 2.
I just bought an 03 SVT. Having it shipped. Only issue i can see with it is the shifter. Once i get it delivered, going to investigate and repair whats needed. All my other vehicle's have been rear wheel drive. This wlll be the first front wheel drive car.
I had a 2004 SVT Focus, and driving it was quite the opposite of what you’re describing. The clutch was super easy to modulate (dual mass flywheel helped). The shifter might not be the best feeling but was pretty good, especially if the bushing on top of the gearbox was new. Seems to me there’s something wrong with your car…
Hey I have done a full rebuild on mine and it only cost me 7 grand bought it in Carson City did all the work myself full head job got a brand new long block and faced the head exhaust manifold vacuum lines have EAP focus wheels new LUK clutch, coilovers the whole Shabbang borla exhaust tune it boogies and is a fun cheap Daily driver also the gearing is super steep and if you don’t have a dual mass clutch it feels jerky
2003 ?? Mine is..your interior is identical (minus my upgraded stereo console)..guy must have been twin to guy that had mine lolol..love my little svt it goes like a raped ape and stereo upgrade is keeper..also tinted all windows to legal limit Fans are operating normal, just keep eye on fluids levels
Hey I was wondering how you like the projector headlights? I get a little overly worried about my lights on my car. I got a 2004 zx4 Focus and want to put better lights on it. Do you know if your bulbs are hid?
I have a 2004 Svt given to me as a gift. First time I laid my eyes on it I knew I had something special. It wasnt untill later I found out yes my car is special. I need someone good to work on it. If you have a problem driving this car sale it you have no idea how to drive bro, just saying!
Going from first in from a complete stop in first gear push the clutch and give me a little bit of gas but I don’t know if sometimes it be like I have to give it more clutch and gas at the same time to get it moving if not I’ll stall
Drives like a maniac yet you can’t find gears😂 put a steeda short throw in it and some seat time she red lines at 7 grand and it’s a focus Lmao this car handles amazing just put some seat time in and you’ll be rippin in no time
Was my first ride. Got rid of the pos for like $500 at a dealership but looking back it was definitely a fun car. Front wheel drive was not kind to me in the midwest though lol
I'm not sure if it's a problem with my car or if they all came like this. It is very difficult to drive smoothly. I don't have this problem in my WRX or any other manual car I've driven. It's weird.
@@spartan55503 I wasn't making fun of you, I've had a few of my friends tell me the same thing when they drive my 04 SVT. Maybe it's cause I've driven semi trucks that I don't notice it
I have ST170s and other Mk1’s. Id bleed the clutch, even do the whole brake/ clutch system if fliud is old. I find mine very forgiving to drive and the clutch has a consistent feel. Two cars on stock clutches where the same and when other people drive them I tell them it is the easiest car they’ll ever drive. Svt owners Ive spoken to also swear by doing regular transmission fluid changes. It looks like you have a good car and it has a nice idling sound👍

Did you mean dual mass flywheel? Buying SVT in the future, anything else I should look out for ?
Just picked up a 04 SVT with a a bad motor. Started the engine teardown process last night. If you got any advice lmk.
Should open the hood, pal.
Take care, have a great Focus!

I had an 02 svt a few years ago. And the shifting was easy. Maybe you have a vacuum leak or need some spark plugs

I miss mine. Michigan weather wasn’t kind to it
Michigan has definitely taken a toll on the bolts under the car. I got lucky that I found one with no body rust.
Jesus… your voice makes me rethink my choice to continue living.
Thanks Alton lyter

Oh and there was issues like every month that needed fixing, if it doesn't stop I would def look into something else. Shit was a lemon
Is your clutch going bad?
It's definitely not slipping but I really don't have any service history on the car.
Hard to drive? Lol
