Very nice example of an SVT right here. Reminds me of my 2002 3 door SVT, I picked it up last summer with about 54,000 miles on it and plan on keeping it 100% stock where I can.
I have a silver 2004 SVT EAP 5 door with 208,000 and the thing drives like a dream, carves up Canyon and mountain roads and runs awesome. Pretty quick and fun ride and I'll never get rid of it. Plans are once the engine goes, it will be rebuilt and a procharger system added.
Man, I miss my sonic blue 2001. Thing handled like a European sports car, and it would rip when you wanted it to. I didn't appreciate that car for what it was when I had it.
Vtec is a second set of cam lobes for higher RPM to lift the valves higher. The Zetec of the SVT is just VVT. Yeah both yield better HP in higher revs, but so do most engines.
I have a 2002 with 110k on the engine, old one was replaced around 128k due to bent rods from a slipped timing belt. I try to keep it in good condition but it's my daily in Michigan so only so much I can do lol. It does feel like I lose power at high RPM's and I haven't been able to figure out what causes it yet but she still gets it
Dealership is definitely hanging onto the SVT name on it but the used car market is absolutely mental right now. I would try $6500. Take care of it in the most basic of ways and it will go to 200k easy.
I have an 02 Silver w/blue int. 185,000 miles. Had it for 10 years. Love it. I'm going to give it to my grandson in a couple of years,
Have u gave it to ur grandson yet ?

Thats a rare low mileage gem right there. My blue 2004 four door svt has 198,000 currently. Wish mine was that unmolested.
Lots of nostalgia seeing these things. Hope you enjoy your experience owning a SVTF.

Insane price. $5500. I got mine with 90k for $5700.
What size rims and tires is it?
@Juan Tamad - In 2002, the tires/wheels were 215/45 ZR 17" Continental Contact Sport.
