Edwards could have lifted that pivot foot, make two steps with "intention to shoot" and the kids today would rule no travel. But he didn't. And I respect that.
Not actually. He can't take a step once he established the pivot foot and it can only leave the floor whan he shoots. It's not "kids today" it's the new 2019 NBA rules.

No 0%. Not a travel. After he picks up his dribble in a "gathering step" he is allowed two additional steps before establishing the pivot foot. Once a pivot foot is established it can be lifted from the floor as long as the ball is released before the pivot foot touches the floor again. Read the rules first, comment second?
@@cpataxpro Can you take steps and establish a pivot? that's not really what I recall. He did move his pivot foot just a little there. That said, it's really hard to notice that with everything happening on an NBA court.

@@cpataxpro Watch the replay, when it's zoomed in on him. At 1:12, the first half spin. If you watch it at x0.25 speed you'll notice better, slides that pivot a foot towards the basket lol. And in a couple of following spins he lifts it from the floor.
@@salvatoreoggiano9667 First of all, the NBA does not call insignificant foot slides while tangled up with a defender while setting up a pivot foot ... there is NOTHING in the rule book to allow that call. See the NBA refs instructional video of Anthony Davis actually violating the rule and you'l see how egregious it must be (basically a clear foot lift).
After that initial slide his pivot foot never left the floor until he took his shot. No travel there.

Hey people, a little random but somehow started getting NBA daily top 10 recommendations from 12 years back. The GOATmentator does a few of them, before his GOAT days. His flow is way better now although he was still probably better then than all the others. It's like a time machine; Kobe was still playing and athletic, Bron in Miami, KD and Russ in OKC, DRose in Chi. They are just a little hard to find because the titles are just "Monday's top 10", "Wednesday's top 10" etc.
