Not sure if anyone still reads these comments but I have to say something. Rest in peace, Sir. To have the courage to sing this song, among the courage to be one of the best and brightest officers in the entire military is astounding. May you continue to rest in peace and may your family find continued strength in knowing someone as honorable as yourself.
I read them atleast. :)
Wonderful message.
I liked your comment. Tku.
May God continuously hold this beautiful family in his loving arms.Thank you for sharing this moment with the world.
Beautiful & precious & poignant message .❤️🙏🙏🙏😔
Your father was a hero... you dont need to see the medals on his uniform to understand that. You look at his heart... his eyes... he showed courage. Cancer is of the Devil and he is safe with the Father in heaven. I hope you realize this. God bless to your family. I will think on that man tonight. Truly inspiring.
+KSI Potomac Amen. AMEN AMEN AMEN AMEN.
I have just seen someone die today.
As this song was drafted by a Confederate soldier, not a lot of people feel that way.
Nicholas Steiner im sorry but the song was indeed over a union soldier. Not saying similar songs could've be written for a southerner but it talks about a blue uniform
I agree
+John Asher Sometimes the truth can hurt😕unfortunately✌.

Praise the Lord!
Got his crown.

The courage of the father and his son to sing this, strong faith.
I can't even imagine having the courage to do this ever, much less with stage 4 cancer! What a gift, what a memory for his son, and his son's kids! Incredible and heartbreaking and heart warming at the same time, so bitter sweet!
The son says to his father with tears in his eyes you can hear the hurt in his voice that he is dying can hear him to say I LOVE YOU when I heard those words I began to cry Oh My God it's true love that of a child has for his dad.
Can't stop my tears so emotional. RIP SIR you are a hero and heroes go to heaven.God bless your love ones
@@noracanon2253 yea uh the main comment is so over dramatic
@@x91s55 x91 s, people want to pay their respects in the comments but your comment seems disrespectful and dull.
@@mtracy244 well because it's so over dramatic.
I agree Roger, you can hear and see the emotion in the son, and the dad, but you can really see how upset the son is ....it would have been so difficult to sing that song together....as for the the comments from other people, I will just say that there are so many cold hearted, people who don’t have an ounce of compassion or empathy in their souls they don’t understand and never will......sad for these heartless people they obviously have very sad lives
To the Son, and other family members of Lt. Col. Weber.
This grately touched my heart. I pray that "The Comforter" (The Holy Spirit), is holding your family together, day and night. In all you endure, turn to Jesus!
I wish to personally say; "Thank You" for the sacrifices your Dad made for our nation.

What Unit are you in, who is your Drill Sargent?, maybe you meant First Sargent but regardless you have shown a total ignorance of the Miletary
What a beautiful, loving family. Who wouldn't be proud of that father and that son.
Tears rolling down my face for the loss of Lt. Col. Mark Weber and for his family. May he rest in peace.
May he Rest in Eternal Peace love from a Englishman ,so sad but at least his son has an amazing memory you can't buy so so sad 😢😢😢
My da was a combat infantryman in WW2. Viet Nam saw me in scrubs and boots, as a really young nurse decades later. I lost my Da to Lymph cancer in 2005. Not a day goes by I don't think of him and hope I made him proud. I am now retired, but forever I will strive to be a faithful servant of the United States. Those who have served, those will are now and those who will serve can carry the mission forward. RIP Lt. Col. Weber. You have raised a fine young man. Blessings and truly, thank you for your service and sacrifice.
I am 47 with grown children of my own and as i write this like most i have read on this page i have tears rolling down my face and am not ashamed, the love that this father and son have for each other i know will cross the veil that has been brought onto Marks face. God Bless

Yes.
There are so many heroes among us. I just pushed my manual wheel chair in a 5 Km Army "run" to support our heroes. I am proud to do this. My time? 44 minutes. Not bad for a paraplegic with stage 4 Hepatitis. My father I swear ran along beside me.
God bless you!
and you as well. Thank-you.

You should be very proud mom. You raised your boys well. Please thank them for their service from one military family to another. I'll be keeping you and your boys in my prayers. God Bless.

Your grandfather and uncles are heroes. They are the reason I race...to support the "soldiering on" program. Every kilometer I go, I do it for them. God bless.

i can't stop my tears drops ( Crying like baby ) ..... cose i miss my father, my father died when I was 12 years old....
To John n. : Do you know William Boyd or Bill Boyd who was a wonderful actor many yrs ago now, was 12 yrs old when his father died. His father lost his life as a hero trying to save other men in a coal mine accident. He later in the movies, he made, became Hopalong Cassidy who was the hero of those stories in film. He bought the rights to the charactor name for himself and so he became "Hoppy"., And rode his horse Topper in parades long after the movies were made. He loved his father and missed him so much he became the hero his father had been. ❤️
@@laurenetemple-link5660 a heartening story, tku.
it's wonderful to see a father and son who love each other and embrace- The son has tears in his eyes and doesn't want to let go of his father, but realizes he must-
This is a memory his family will remember for a lifetime. It’s heartbreaking knowing that this wonderful person died in 2013.
As a Former Soldier, Im not only Humbled, but Blessed to have witnessed this. Rest in Peace, Sir.
The boys in my grade's choir sang this song. I knew this was the same one as soon as I saw the title. At some point when we were singing or practicing I definitely teared up, but seeing it being performed in these unfortunate times makes me ten times as emotional. May your father Rest In Peace.

Truly an inspiration. Bless you and the family. I saw Lt. Col Weber passed away in 2013. Rest in peace and thank you for your service.
with tears streaming down my face I type this
😭
some people watching must have accidentally pressed the wrong button.
That is strength and courage on the son’s part to be able to do that with his Dad under those circumstances. The most bravest of sons.
Can someone, ANYONE explain to me why there would be thumbs down on this video... how does a soul become so hateful. Wow!!
Some very evil people in the world. It's a sad thing. :(
They are dead inside. No worries. Enjoy this beautiful song.....and all that it means & symbolizes. ❤
All I can figure.,. if it's not the evil people option... is because there is no sad face option... Or it hits too close to home? Seems minimizing anyway too just give a thumb, when something like this is quite robust with feeling. But if course I'm also a Veteran, but even if it were just a regular father and son... It would still move me.
No appreciation of the service provided by that brave hero to give them a good life in this country! All cruel, heartless Ame. should live in China!
I haven't seen any thumbs down.
Everyone is giving thumbs up for the beautiful song & life of the military man & his family. 🙏💟

It blows my mind how in this day and age, people go out of their way to insult and flaunt their disrespect for others. Especially to someone, like the lady above, who is only being loving and trying to offer sympathy and comfort. Believe or disbelieve whatever you want. But let others do the same. Live and let live.
