  • In spite of his battle with stage four cancer, Lt. Col. Mark Weber of the Minnesota National Guard sings "Tell My Father", a Civil War era song, with his son at the Minnesota History Center in Saint Paul on June 14. Weber also told his story and gave an emotional Army Birthday address earlier: • Last Lecture - Army Style

Not sure if anyone still reads these comments but I have to say something. Rest in peace, Sir. To have the courage to sing this song, among the courage to be one of the best and brightest officers in the entire military is astounding. May you continue to rest in peace and may your family find continued strength in knowing someone as honorable as yourself.

Your father was a hero... you dont need to see the medals on his uniform to understand that. You look at his heart... his eyes... he showed courage. Cancer is of the Devil and he is safe with the Father in heaven. I hope you realize this. God bless to your family. I will think on that man tonight. Truly inspiring.

To John n. : Do you know William Boyd or Bill Boyd who was a wonderful actor many yrs ago now, was 12 yrs old when his father died. His father lost his life as a hero trying to save other men in a coal mine accident. He later in the movies, he made, became Hopalong Cassidy who was the hero of those stories in film. He bought the rights to the charactor name for himself and so he became "Hoppy"., And rode his horse Topper in parades long after the movies were made. He loved his father and missed him so much he became the hero his father had been. ❤️

All I can figure.,. if it's not the evil people option... is because there is no sad face option... Or it hits too close to home? Seems minimizing anyway too just give a thumb, when something like this is quite robust with feeling. But if course I'm also a Veteran, but even if it were just a regular father and son... It would still move me.

It blows my mind how in this day and age, people go out of their way to insult and flaunt their disrespect for others. Especially to someone, like the lady above, who is only being loving and trying to offer sympathy and comfort. Believe or disbelieve whatever you want. But let others do the same. Live and let live. Thank you.
