After capture ones licensing stunt all they can do now is pay people for posative videos. Years behind on Ai and having no advantage over LR even in fuji, I the gigs up. They has a chance and they threw it away
So When are going to get the ability to accurately separate the subject from the background. ????? I am headshot photog ...... I do this on EVERY image !!!
C1 is so slow compared to LR that is laughable. But still we see videos on RUclips promoting it as really good. For a wedding photographer this software is in stone ages.
At what?!?! I’m shocked to see this response because Lightroom Classic is widely considered a disaster from a performance standpoint, such that people have been calling for it to be rebuilt from the ground up for almost a decade. The Lightroom app handles files with less adjustment latency than the desktop version of LRC.
@@robhallphoto not anymore. Lightroom classic on my M1 is almost 10 times faster at most important tasks than C1. C1 isn’t fully optimized for newer Macs and has tons of old code which they do not change. From simply things as culling LR is way way faster. AI is not even close. Export times are 1/3rd of C1 on Lightroom.
Love seeing Capture One lift their game, great product with what I think the best files to work with, but I can't turn my back on how clever Adobe has become. Great video. Show me one with how to use it most efficiently with Photoshop, as I still miss it a bit in workflow, having switched to just Adobe products.
Hey Rob. You mention exporting DNGs. Did you mean EIPs? Since you're talking to the C1 team could you remind them there's a world of digitechs out here who still need the star metadata in the right place for clients...
Thanks, very helpful. I skipped previous C1 upgrade (even being free for me, I am a license subscriber), but this one is worth it. Just wondering if you can test if this version fixes all the tethering problems of C1 on Apple M1/M2 hardware. Been waiting for these issues to be fixed to upgrade my Intel 2018 Mac-Mini to an M2 Mac-Mini Loosing tethering is not an option for me.
Hopefully, the app is gaining some features pretty quickly, but they seem to be most focused on mobile connectivity (tethering / live) at the moment, rather than broadening the editing options. Maybe now that it’s more capable in the connectivity department we’ll see more desktop editing functions added.
Theres a post on the Capture One Community Forum about this, C1 have posted on the thread that it is a feature being worked on so it is coming, no other details at the moment.
Lol, busted. I recently put a treadmill at my desk, so there's no chair for me to sit on. This was the first time I've tried to sit at my desk so my rapid solution was to sit on an exercise ball. In the future I'll probably just raise the key light I have affixed to my wall so I can film standing up.
It’s pretty straight forward, using (user selected) subject of an image’s face as a reference, C1 will automagically make other images exposure and white balance match it. This will be most powerful for people who are photographing conditions where color temperature/brightness are changing shot to shot.
In the mean time after 15 years of using C1 it always makes me laugh when I hear them talking about performance jumps. the performance of C1 sucks and will suck there is no change except for promises, but wait even the promises are the same and were always a lie. use photo mechanics if u have a huge amount of images.

They said they're actively working on that a few days ago.
Yeah it’s safe to say that automatic subject selection is on C1’s radar - I really hope they solve it soon!

Love my C1. Thanks for the updates Rob!
Great with updates on new features ❤

informative on capture on updates.
Is it compatible with iMac?

Unfortunately I have no M series apple products to test that! Maybe Steve can respond.
Would these features eventually show on the iPad version? Hopefully? Esp dust removal!

I wonder when they'll catch up with Lightroom's AI masking...I've gotten to where I can't imagine not having that feature...

Great video, thanks.
Silly question; are you sitting on a bouncy ball? You do not sit still for 1 second, lol

@@robhallphoto Good to see you think about your health! ;-) Just something i noticed.
Thanks for all the great content!
Rob, how did you light that large group?
Bounced an AD300 Pro in an AD-S85 at 1/2 power off the (white) gym ceiling. ISO 1600 F/4.
still confused with the smart adjustment.
It's using auto-adjustment to match the other photos to the reference photo.
