Thank you guys! would love to know how you utilize your space if you have a similar or even smaller foot print than mine, let me know! also, ive linked the two videos mentioned in the description. enjoy!
thank you! that's what I was going for. hopefully I can show more workouts in this space and also get more things to upgrade within the small foot print
You could get a single stack cable tower between the rack and the dumbbells. You can either mount it to the wall or a rack upright or buy another rack upright and cross member. Would open us heaps more versatility. Something like the bells of steel style towers (either plate loaded or weight stack loaded). I love your setup.
thank you for the input. I think it isn't possible because the distance isn't even 20 inches plus the window frame is still there. I couldn't show it properly on the video. Im hoping more of an attachment or set up that uses the rack itself and turns it into a cable machine like the Rep Athena. does bells of steel have those?
My gym is similar in size from yours…ironmaster 2000 which has a smith, lat pulldown and low row option, dips and half rack options, original pepin fast series 20-120 adjustable dumbbells, bowflex 20-120 adjustable barbells, attachments and plates. I am waiting on the ironmaster super bench with the sit-up attachment for sitting to do pulldowns and the preacher pad
@@aynrandfan7454 awesome. Glad to know all of that is possible with this limited amount of space. Im looking into more upgrades like yours in the future. Thanks!
This is goals right here, unfortunately I don't quite have the space for a rack myself, I have independent squat stands and dumbbells but, one of these days I will have the space for a proper rack.
Hello, that is a great mindset to have still. don't let a power rack stop you from getting your goals. I didn't have a power rack for a whole year that I worked out in this house. and honestly it isn't one of the top 3 essentials that I recommend people
Nice gym. If you want the multigrip pull up bar I think you can make it work if you move your barbell holder to the outside of the rack. Also if you still have budget I would highly recommend the Beyond Power Voltra. A cable machine that will add a lot to your gym without taking up any space.
thanks! Ive thought about that. but then since I have only 16 inches as cross members, the bar will either hit the plates that are on the weight horns or it will hit my plates when I re-rack a squat if its on the outside. the quick fix was Kenshi swissies. works the same as multi grip. Thank you for the recommendation I saw the power Volta that looks amazing!!
that's an insane amount and definitely should be upgradeable or customizable to future proof it. can't wait for what the home gym space in the future will bring!
@@HomeGymGains you have a nice set up man. It was interesting to understand if Japan home gyms also use rogue and rep or some other local brands.. I can't imagine how well your white rack will go with the Nike White dumbells and bumper plates...
@martindragiev9874 yes this year will be an interesting year as two of the local resellers i know signed an official deal with rogue and rep. Wow! Did not know nike released those. That sounds cool
Hey man, sick setup! But I wonder... you have to be extra mindful of the noise while you're working out or there isn't any issue with your neighboors? I always had the notion that in Japan people are very sound-conscious in order to not upset others and viceversa: That people are easily upset with loud music or in this case maybe the sound of weights banging, the clanging against the rack, etc... I'm very curious! Cheers!
thank you! great question, if you have a built or bought house, it is placed farther between neighbor houses as a standard. it also has much thicker walls and windows. to be extra careful with my wife and toddlers Ive put the plywood and rubber mats. other than that there are options to limit deadlift noises local companies make it as an attachment. it almost eliminates all vibration and sounds
@@NoFate247 yes. Ive bought one. How could I miss it. The dumbbell rack inside the closet towards the end is from gymgarage JP sometimes you can get pretty lucky on that site
oh it gets used trust me. ill post the weekly workout log this weekend. but great observation. up until this video Ive only used the dbs, accessories and bench. the power rack is very new. my running channel has more workout logs @itsmekvn

Perfect configuration including smith machine in half rack. Great video
@@antoniop785 thank you’
Love your setup. All the key pieces of equipment! Also, I laughed when you said a "basic setup". You have everything a home gym would need!
thank you haha in my gymrat head It was basic but then I read this comment and yeah this was more than $1500 Lol.
LOVE your home gym! Great use of limited space. So efficient And very well thought out. CONGRATS!
thank you. I appreciate that because it really did take a while to carefully plan everything within the space and RULES of living here in Japan.
way better than gyms outside😮😮😮
