I am sorry, but i dont think its possible to translate the beauty of the original language. But i can tell you - as a native german speaker - the lyrics are very pleasing. Even though the grammar is not always correct, the incorrectness on some points gives the song its fine edges. None the less the song and the video are a masterpiece of pure aesthetic value, transporting a message of joy and tristesse, of awe and seperation. I had similar emotions when i left my house at 3 AM and drove out of the city, to watch asteroid shower in 2016. I was alone in pure darkness, but above me was a sky, filled with stars. Being alone in the dark i gazed upon the greatness of stars over me, feeling meaningless and small but also as a part of something incomprehensible great. If you ever had this feeling, you dont need to understand the original lyrics of this song to understand the emotions it carries. I am sorry if i sound pseudointellectual, i am just amazed that there is still aesthetic in this world. And yes, there is something like "The beautiful" seperated from any "social influence", even though constructivism tries to tell you something different.
Did someone notice in the end credits "Atomic cave Haigerloch"? The cubes and the concrete "pool" at the beginning of the video were part of the atomic bomb project of the Third Reich in Haigerloch. Sonnenaufgang. The rise of the sun in a complete other way.... The shown town and church are directly above the atomic cave, as far as I know.
Googling, I think the church and castle (shown until 2 minutes in) are also Haigerloch. Thanks for pointing that out - makes the whole thing more poignant.
The church is exactly above the atomic cave. A priest persuaded the US Army only to use small charges to blow up the remains of the atomic reactor therefore. The priest showed the beautiful church to the US soldiers and convinced them to use the small explosive charges.

Wonderful piece of work. Kind of strangely coincidental with the nuclear sequence of Lynch, in episode 8 of the new Twin Peaks. Laibach/Lynch - now there's an idea for a fascinating combo. Even though this work stands on its own, compliments to Michael Saup. It is truly fascinating to see that the gesammtkunstformula of Laibach keeps managing to renew and better itself.
I never thought about this connection with Lynch episode, but it makes me think now :) The times we're living in are shaped by our emotions and beliefs, and the times, in turn, affect us, so it makes sense.

Yes. An ancestor of mine was a well-known bomber pilot, and I've been watching some films of his missions. It definitely reminds me of that.
Since the video is about the Nazi Manhattan project in Hagerloch, it's more likely the flashes are Uranium fission.
