I was definitely happy seeing Julia Child and Gordon Ramsay up so high. It’s one of the few where I always have trouble deciding who won, but Julia’s line “You scream at women but the fits that you’re pitching make you the pissiest bitch in the kitchen” always will be one of the best of all time

Alexander the Great vs Ivan the terrible is easily number 1, Pompey carried the whole episode though. Ok in all seriousness the 2020 election was my favorite because I think Joe had some absolutely legendary flow, I feel like Abe Lincoln ruined the other two because all he did was yell at the candidates and he tried to steal the show even with his lack of real flow

The 2020 election battle didnt age well for Joe's verse.
Biden had a third verse when Trump didn’t. If it can’t be equal then it is a garbage battle. Their political ones are always biased towards Democrats because they are leftists. They made Trump look bad with his own bars in his first presidential battle and then gave his opponent an extra verse in the 2020 one. It’s pathetic.
My main issue is that I felt like Biden was acted inaccurately. It felt like Peter was just playing a generic old man, not Biden. I think it's mainly the voice that throws me off.
Not only did Joe deliver amazing flow and some good lyrics, trump had some lyrics that must hurt. Both consistently were great at dissing each other

My main problem with artists vs tmnt is the fact that artists nearly get twice the amount of lines. I understand that the artists are rhett and link and smosh but really?
That never really bothered me honestly.
Stephen King also had twice as many lines as Poe, but Poe still put up a good fight, didn't he? And Caitlyn Jenner had almost three times more lines than the Hulk, but which of them destroyed the other (while the other self-destroyed)? 😜
It's fine if Artists have twice as many lines as Turtles. It probably bothers people for the reason that Turtles were no match to the Artists in terms of disses. But in order to solve that, it's more practical to replace the Turtles' lines by better lines, instead of just adding more lines, right? Length isn't necessarily linked to quality.

@@Emmet0223 As PPRB said in this video, you can divide Bond vs Powers into two battles, in order to make it more equal:
1) Daniel Craig's Bond vs Austin Powers (Craig's rap was only longer by two lines since Powers had a longer verse, so it's pretty much equal)
2) Sean Connery vs Daniel Craig and Austin Powers (Connery has more lines but the two others are teaming up so it's equal too)
I dislike when I rapper gets way more lines, Marylin Monroe being the biggest offender. Artists vs TMNT just feels so rushed, like they cut the writing phase and move to filming asap. Its a shame, the beat and lyrics are some of my favorite, but it ends so quickly.

Absolutely, it's probably the most overhated ERB in my mind.
I feel like it gets too much hate because of Jefferson's 2nd verse being an apology video and Frederick Douglass having the worst flow in all of erb

During the ten first minutes, I thought I wouldn't agree with the video at all. But I found myself agreeing with pretty much everything throughout the second half, or at least the last third. We have the same top 1, and your top 4 is entirely in my top 5, plus I really appreciate the respect for Jefferson vs Douglass, Lewis & Clark vs Bill & Ted, Walt Disney's verse, Cousteau vs Irwin, Putin's verse, etc.
Way to go in any way! Definitely a better ranking than TheGamerFromMars's! (which is made easy by the fact you aren't blinded by an anti-season 5 bias, for example 😛)

The Cleopatra vs Marilyn Monroe placement is wild to begin with, it's a top ten battle for me. But to put Hulk Hogan vs Kim jong-il above it is crazy.
Monroe getting a whole extra round just bring down the battle for me.

Ones that rankings should be higher:
-Sherlock vs. Batman, Sherlock has a great 2nd verse and Robin is absolutely hilarious
-Rick vs. Walter, Walter’s verses are vile with how good they are
-Wright vs. Mario, this one is great
-Nice Peter vs. EpicLLOYD 2, the references are great and is sounds so nice!
-Houdini vs. Copperfield, I mean, Houdini’s 2nd Verse is amazing tbh
-Hitler vs. Vader 2, all the verses are generally great
-Doc Brown vs. Doc Who, Doctor Who’s verse is 🔥

The only ranking I am wayyyyy off with you on is Cleopatra vs Marilyn Monroe. I don't think the miss carriage line was the only good line at all. I guess if you're valuing lines being particularly clever I'd underatand why you have it so low but a lot of the things said in the battle were completely savage. The line "you'll sleep with any ugly dude who says he likes it hot. Even Joe DiMaggio took a swing in your batters box." Is a really good diss on multiple levels, 1. Saying she sleeps with ugly dudes cause she just can't control her sexuality that much that she doesn't care who she has sex with 2. Joe DiMaggio abused Marilyn Monroe so she's referencing that (which is savage) 3. The play on him being a baseball player with the batters box line.
The barbiturates line is a really savage diss.
Marilyn's rebuttal about Cleopatra fcking her own brothers while not super creative is a really potent and disrespectful diss.
And I found the hieroglyphs "your sandy vagina has a seven year itch" line as absolutely hilarious and a good one too.
I just never understood why people think of that as the battle where there was just one good line being the miss carriage line. I remember when I first watched it and I was blown away by how hard both of them were going at each other.
Other than that I can see your perspective on your rankings to some extent though I disagree with some of them but most of them im not super far off on but personally I think Cleopatra vs Marilyn Monroe is a sure fire top 20.
I can understand that. I think some lines are good but the battle doesn’t gel with me like it does for a lot of other people.

Ngl, when you put Hitler vs Vader 2 so low kinda hurts, its not my favorite but is easily top 3 for me, Hitler verse is almost my favorite, but hmmm... I kinda would put Gates vs Jobs not even in the top 20 so i can forgive
My favorite ERB is a dispute between the Movie directors royale and Luke vs Harry, i really can't decide, probably NOW is Harry vs Luke because Luke second verse is my favorite from the entire series, like i really don't get why people think Harry won

i know mario/wright brothers doesnt have the best flow/wordplay but the performances are so funny imo. the donkey kong line delivery is hilarious and i have a special love for luigi's italian grandma line "look at you, so skinny" as someone with a greek grandma (which is very similar lol)
I dont agree with the che and guy one, it was pretty even for me, and i would even say that che won because of his flow and first verse
I’ve never been a huge fan of the writing on Che’s side. That said, I know there are plenty who agree with you and that’s a fair assessment as well.

It also made me stop to think how metaphorical is Jobs death. At the end, Jobs and Gates were just two good friends trying to achieve the world, and competing for that lol
Imo i feel like Tony Hawk vs Wayne Gretsky is the most underrated ERB contrary to what you said because it has the least views.
I respect the attempt, and I disagree on a lot of the battles you put really low, but that’s the fun of opinions, we all got them.
Comedians at 51 I think is the thing I disagree with the most. That’s a top ten battle.
It’s very fun to rank and then compare to other lists.

Walter White vs Rick Grimes at 78? If you've never watched either show, you can't appreciate the disses from both of them. Top 20 for sure. And Vader vs Hitler 3 at 60? What the hell? The "Fired Up" alone puts it in the top 10.
For whatever reason, I've always felt like Mansa Musa had some of the hardest bars of any ERB. I feel like he should rank higher.

Aside from that horrible ranking of "Cleopatra Vs Marilyn Monroe", and that in my opinion "Oprah Vs. Ellen" and "Justin Bieber Vs. Beethoven" didn't deserve at all to be that high... I agree with a lot of the positions on this list and see where you're coming from.
Also respect for showing love to Weird Al as Isaac Newton, he's easily the best celebrity feature in the whole series. Also Julia Child Vs. Gordon Ramsay is just so fire, I love it. My top 5 personally would be *1. "Zeus Vs. Thor", 2. "Steve Jobs Vs. Bill Gates", 3. "East Vs. West Philosophers", 4. "Joker Vs. Pennywise" & 5. "Harry Potter Vs. Luke Skywalker"*

I'm glad Ruth vs. Armstrong is as high as it is. That's always been one of my favorites but I feel like a lot of people had it go over their heads. Ruth's closer is one my favorite all time ERB lines as well. Just brutal, but an interesting side note... in the visual part there, Lloyd's Babe Ruth is also the pitcher in the background when he goes for that famous called/pointed home run... Babe Ruth was a star pitcher first, so dupilicating him for that scene to be the pitcher and the hitter was contextually relevant and more clever than most people would know (aside from people knowledgable on baseball history). I don't know if I'd put it higher than you did in the rankings here honestly though, because I hear ya. When it comes to ERB, there are some low and mediocre ones and then it becomes a struggle to rank the rest because they are all so good

Honestly Trump vs Clinton was pretty high for me because of all the hard roasts on both sides, then comes Sir Lincoln slapping palms at Trump and defending Clinton. For me, the battle was even, but this was a great video, nonetheless, I was genuinely surprised that Lee vs Henson was higher that Rasputin vs Stalin, but you ain't wrong.

Lincoln choses a side in both. He is just far more explicit about it in Trump v Biden. I find it really annoying when ERB interrupts the battle to virtue signal.
Also, the line in Gates vs Jobs “everything you built leads up to me” is not saying that the only thing facing Gates is his own creation. I think it might be saying that his creation is what helped others to create other technologies (such as Linux and GNU).

Love how you focused on flow, visuals and lyrics. Most rants & critiques IMHO lean political, and problems with real history 🤷🏽. I set all that aside too so kudos!! You've done a magnificent job here. I loved only Bond v Powers more than you. Simply brilliant, bravo!

How could you talk about Thanos vs. Oppenheimer without mentioning the "I'm here to split U like 2 and 3 from 5" line???
Since the meaning clearly flew over your head, I think I'll explain it. It's the least I can do as a former chemist. Uranium-235, shortened as *U-235* (pronounced U-2-3-5) is a radioactive isotope of Uranium, but more specifically, it was the primary fission reagent used in Little Boy and Fat Man- the two atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan. When U-235 undergoes nuclear fission, it *splits* to produce *2* new elements- Barium-141 and Krypton-92- as well as *3* neutrons. There's another 2 and 3. And then there's the simplest bit, which comes from basic arithmetic. 5 can be split into 2 and 3. Such impeccable wordplay. Oppenheimer essentially claimed that he would nuke Thanos like America nuked Japan, and he did it in the most poetic way imaginable.
That line is, without question, the single greatest line in the history of ERB. It's such an obscene, nuanced, and multifaceted blow. It won the battle singlehandedly, but I don't think you understood it. I do agree that Thanos's verses were pretty lame, but the sheer creative audacity of every single one of Oppy's lines makes up for it tenfold. If we're ranking individual verses, I really don't think *anything* ERB has put out comes close to Oppy's first verse.
I agree, the creator of this video should be ashamed.

Often times yes, I don't find a ton of vulgar jokes very funny.
I would put Richard vs Ragnar a bit higher. Richard, for the most part, is just annoying in the worst NicePeter kind of way, but Ragnar had some INSANE flow in parts of the battle. The whole ding dang dong church bells warn about me at the break of dawn as I leave monks in chunks on Northumbrian lawns because I'm Allfather's spawn part was ABSOLUTELY EPIC
Ragnar is pretty awesome, but I just don’t think the battle is one of their best.
People also forget the Jefferson V Douglas one was supposed to be more educational (they made a clean version for classes)

Great ranking! I think each of your choices and justifications are fair. I would rank the Walter White vs. Rick Grimes battle higher. Grimes’ verses are bad and forgettable but White has some great, memorable lines. It’s a mid-tier battle to me. Some of my all time favorite battles are Ghostbusters vs. Mythbusters, the directors battle, Poe vs. King, and Franklin vs Mays.

@@pearadiss I used to think it was one of the absolute worst... Now I still would say it's low but not absolute bottom tier. While the writing is pretty weak there are some things said in that battle that are absolutely wild but you can totally tell it's an old one cause the writing is quite simple.
I'm surprised the Kim Jong Il battle wasn't ranked in the 80 tier. The subtitles alone looked like it was an ERB rip off

I’m gonna comment every time I disagree
1- WALTER WHITES VERSES WERE AMAING. As a breaking bad fan every thing about LOYYEDS Paterail made it amazing. Once you watch the show you will love it. The disses hit the carecterization hits and walters perofrmance is top 20 erb performances.
2- CLEOPTARA AND MERYLAN MONROE.
I understand the phrase “to each there own” but now I’m regretting liking that phrase but this whole thing was amazing and had some of the most VISIOUS LINES- and it was a awesome cat fight
3-Vader vs HITLER two:
Hitler went OFF. It was Insane. Awesome. WOW. As a Jew I was so angrier that Hitler won but again this is iconic WAY higher up 4 me
4- TRUMP V BIDEN
(Wow this battle hit hard and aged VERY WELL. I agree trump won but not by much. Biden had a lot; the cheating; the Paris; wife’s hand; and also emotional with Brianna Taylor; also Jeffery Epstine was great too.
Trump was better though because of crash and burn and hunting season and overall demeanor was awesome. Watching it the day before Election Day was awesome too. Easily top 20
5- Trump v Hillary
This is like in my top 5. It’s insane. It’s awesome. It’s a cinematic masterpiece and funny AF. The whole thing is great.
6- Che Guviour vs guy fox
I liked Che better it’s more memorable and his flows better
7- Vader V Hitler three
Who cares if Hitler was mid because VADER WAS THE BEST FLOW IN ALL OF ERB. who cares that it’s one sided when on side is top ten performance in all ERB.
8- Ronald McDonald vs Burger King
Favorite “light” battle. No hard hitting bars but very fun and awesome so if do it higher
9- Tesla be Edison
It was awesome Edison’s flow was awesome; and Teslas voice was awesome. I really like this one and would rank it higher. Truth hertz; and so dope that I even make New Jersey look good and no lights camera action see. AWSOME
10- Bonnie and Clyde vs Romeo and Juliet
ASS WOPPIN WORSE THEN YOUR BOYFRIENDS IN PRISON. Wow. Amazing. And I loved how they told the story’s. Through the battle.
11- Opinhimer v thanos.
Your a lil hypocrite. You said “one line doesn’t make a battle good” yet one line makes this battle BAD. Your right “Fortnite’s dopest dancer is bad” who cares everything else is awsome. (Excluding thanks copter)

Interesting: you're contradicting what you said about PPRBguy not knowing Walter White, and about one bad line from Thanos not making the battle bad. Mozart vs Skrillex can't be ranked down by the fact you don't know one of them, and by the fact he has one bad line, right?
Otherwise, I agree with some of your remarks, like for Trump vs Hillary or Bieber vs Beethoven or Martin vs Tolkien. I'd also rank up Cleopatra vs Marilyn, but for different reasons (especially the Kimmy Gatewood performance worthy of history's best actresses)
Walt's final diss about Rick being cheated on flopped for me since Walt's wife cheated on him as well. And with Marylin vs Cleopatra the main issue for me is that, as a cat fight, the insults seem pretty repetitive. Marylin gets called uneducated even though she was actually smart IRL.
Great video, as a fellow ERB obsessed person I am currently making a super long video ranking every erb verse from worst to best. It’s gonna take awhile but I think it’ll be awesome.
I agree with the general rankings you’ve provided, but I wanted to give me opinions on the few I disagreed with (just for fun no hate):
1. Rick grimes Walter white is wayyyy to low that’s crazy
2. I think Biden actually WINS vs Trump, he did great, and that battle should be ranked higher.
3. Lincoln Norris is TERRRIBLE. Literally one of the worst ever and having it anywhere past the bottom 5 is a crime
4. Che Guevara is great, battle should be higher.
5. Washington does amazing and this battle is way better than a lot you have above it
6. I appreciate you giving Franklin V Mays it’s flowers
7. Bonnie and Clyde is overrated as HELL, lower that
8. NAPOLEAN AT 50????? Bottom 5 battle, that is insane
9. Beethoven does carry that battle but he does NOT carry it all the way to #49 that is a crime
10. Musk v Zuck is one of the most forgettable ones ever how did it get in the 40s
11. I’d put Wolverine lower but I’m a known hater of that one I understand it’s okay

I don't really agree with the number 1 ranking. It is an average battle. For some reason I feel like you had difficulty ranking all the top 30 battles and Steve Jobs vs Bill Gates somehow came up to the top. Because imo the best part was the HAL 9000 and Gates wasn't really out of the ordinary for me. And points deducted from Jobs for jumping the gun.
Honestly i disagree with the mother teresa vs sigmund freud ranking after reading the comments the battle felt so amazing due to how many references and details there were and the lines and the beat and the flow are fire its in my top 5

I would definitely say top 30, top 20 is possible but it’s probably a bit below that because I think the top 20 are just so excellent.

The Joe Biden vs Donald Trump one was WAYYYY too poltical. I feel like they were only trying to make a real rap battle during Trumps (maybe bidens) first verse. After that they seemed to try to way too hard to portray Trump as an evil bumbling idiot and Biden has a hero. In the 2012 and 2016 one they were fair to both Candidates so its pretty obvious what they were doing. Personally, the fact that they clearly let there political views influence the rap battle puts it lower for me.
Newton vs Nye switched with the Russian battle would be perfect. Maybe kick out a lower one but to me the Russians have to be top 10.

#5 Babe Ruth vs Lance Armstrong - Babe Ruth's 2nd verse has to be the best in erb history and you can't deny it, he was violent towards Lance such as Baby Ruth, You lost and forgot what real sportsmanship was and best of all, With three strikes and just one ball, don't overlook at Lance, he did nice with awesome flow and the pasta contest without italy and are you trippin lines were awesome.
#4 Theodore Roosevelt vs Winston Churchill - Oh my god I love that battle in every way, EpicLLOYD's Roosevelt was so awesome with epic flow and disses, Dan Bull's Churchill was an upgrade to his Jack the Ripper performance, It's way to good.
#3 Philosopher battle - I really loved the battle a lot, And you can't deny it, the best member of Western Philosophers goes to Nietzche because of the legendary "cause I'm N-I-E-T-Z-C-H-E and I'll end every motherfucker like my name in a spelling bee" Voltaire and Socrates did great as well. the best in Eastern Philosophers is Sun Tzu, Tim's performance to Sun Tzu was an upgrade to his Kim Jong-il performance, Lao Tzu and Confucius also did well.
#2 Ghostbusters vs Mythbusters - This battle might be the best sounding in erb history, Ghostbusters did well and wasn't to bad but there 2nd verse were a downhill, Mythbusters were very powerful and was nice sounding despite lacking disses, the B-Team was so hilarious especially Tori, Stay Puft was cool and nice.
#1 Steven Spielberg vs Alfred Hitchcock - This is the best battle and you cannot make me wrong, Season 4 might be the best season and this is the reason, Nice Peter's Steven Spielberg had nice rhymes, flow and is very underrated, EpicLLOYD's Alfred Hitchcock while the worst was still good, but the best mamma jamma made him the worst, WAX's Quentin Tarantino is the main highlight because he was so god damn hilarious like the wikipedia one and Ask anyone what's your favorite Sam Jackson part, no one's gonna say, what's his name from Jurassic Park, Ruggles Outband's Stanley Kubrick was so awesome being aggresive, his tricyle riding near the end of Quentin's verse was epic and had good lines like the 127 times and A.I. is the worst piece of potential since the ninja turtles, Nice Peter's Michael Bay isn't as powerful as his Spielberg performance was still nice and had epic instrumental.
