I went to the local trap and skeet club and negotiated enough spent shot to fill my stand. it saved a lot of welding and I put a small window on the stand to remove shot if i need to...say for relocating to another shop

why not tack/weld nuts on the bottom of the plate and run your bolts top down? That way you can unbolt the whole thing and have a nice flat service to mount a grinder or other tools in the same way making it multipurpose?

Put a Caster on the bottom on the side then all you have to do is lean it back and you can move around easily to save on your back

Should have just put some old car batteries in the wheel for weight!

You know "old car batteries" have hazardous materials in them right?

You can neutralize the acid and the lead can be contained in the plastic body of the battery. Or, melt the lead and pour it in the bottom cavity of your post.

The original welds on the rim itself is not sturdy enough for the amount of steel you added. This was way overbuilt. Imho

Why didn't you just make a tripod stand like a plumber's vise? You crazy Brits!

Well Paul, I was looking for weight, and I am not a plumber. I also am not British.
